Solarquotes were quick, but the trades “experts” were either completely missing in action or uninterested in contacting us / we had to contact them, so Solarquotes didn’t really help us at all. Kinda pointless experience in the end.

Hi Jeremy, I'm thankful you let us know about this - recommending companies who are prompt with quoting is our standard and this hasn't been met here. I've had a chat with the company in question who apologised and will be taking greater care of the potential customers we send them. Was glad to hear you have sourced another installer to help you out. If you have any questions about solar or the quote that comes in please e-mail me at ned@solarquotes.com.au as I'd be keen to help out :) Ned.

Hi Andy Thanks for taking my phone call - i've now spoken to your matched installer who you advised hasn't sent a quote, they are going to follow up and ensure you get your quote. If you have any questions about it when it comes through feel free to get in contact with me: ned@solarquotes.com.au :) Ned.

Only one (1) installer responded. Would have been easier to go direct.

Hi Phoenix, Thanks for the chat over the phone and again apologies for the delay in your second quote - I've gotten in touch with them and have ensured they will take greater care of the potential customers we send them. Happy to hear the first installer was responsive. If you have any questions about the quotes feel free to contact me here: ned@solarquotes.com.au Thanks again for letting us know as it only helps us improve, Ned.

I was given 3 companies to quote. One was excellent, the Perth one was useless and the house is in Melbourne and incorrectly said roof was in shade. The third did not quote!!

Hi Ron, Thanks for leaving a review for SolarQuotes and apologies for any inconvenience this process has caused. That installer does have an office in Vic where they do installs, and does have experience with shade interfering with roof installations - it's good to hear you are getting a third party out to assess it. The third company who delayed the quote should now have gotten in touch - please reach out to me at ned@solarquotes.com.au if you have any questions about it when it comes in. Thanks, Ned.

Only 1 of the three preferred installers contacted me straight away and arranged a site visit. The second sent standard quotes without making any contact. I never heard from the third.

Hi Paul, So sorry about the delay in your quote here - I'm going be speaking to those 2 companies and following up - this isn't the experience we like to refer our users to. I'll let them know to take greater care of our users. Please feel free to contact me at ned@solarquotes.com.au if you need any help overlooking your quotes or have any other solar related questions. Thanks for letting us know about this as it only helps us improve. Ned.

I think your idea is commendable but the sales reps baffle you with their abundant knowledge. Keep it simple with quotes otherwise people will walk away as I have. Also some of the phone call times after hours are not acceptable

One of the three companies pulled out straight away. Of the remaining 2 companies, one said that our house was not suitable on the basis of a google maps view of our house. The other said they were coming around and never turned up. I commend the service, but the response for an inner city, smaller home didn't seem to be there. Maybe the market is too busy on easier installations.

Hi Andrew, Grateful for your review here. Apologies about this experience - your property is a bit more of a difficult install than a regular roof, I spoke to the installers we matched with you. They apologised that unfortunately they weren't able to service it. I also let the installer who never turned up to get back in touch with you and asked them to take greater care of the customers we send them. I hope the additional installer I provided you with is able to help, I know they have completed many difficult installs in the past. If you have any further feedback or questions reach out to me at: ned@solarquotes.com.au

Only one of three installers took the time to contact me.

Hi Ken, Thanks for getting in touch and letting us know about this, apologies for any frustration or confusion caused here - I would be happy to look at that quote for you and check if it's within the price range we would expect for your area. I have asked the other installer you were matched with to follow up with you and provide you with a quote - if you have any questions about that please feel free to contact me at ned@solarquotes.com.au Thanks again, Ned

2 out of 3 recommendations refused to quote on system due to either terracota roof tiles or 2 story house. Found my installers through recommendations from other sources

Hi Stephen, Thanks for the chat with me over the phone. Apologies to hear some of the installers we matched you with considered your roof too difficult to installer solar on. We do have installers who have more experience with the kind of roof your property has that would have been better suited for the installation. Your suggestion to add a filter to allow users to specify they have a non-standard roof to get matched with these installers was a good idea that I will bring to the team. Happy to hear you ended up going with one of our recommended installers - i'm confident they will be able to handle it. If you have any questions during the installation process please reach out to me at ned@solarquotes.com.au Thanks, Ned

I went with one of your quotes and this was my experience Just a follow up after my install. Was pretty disappointed that the installers left all their rubbish behind. They placed a heap of polystyrene in my recycling bin and other non-recyclables which I had to pull everything out. Also a box with their empty coffee cups was left. The rest of the rubbish they have placed out the front of the neighbours house. It looks like she has a hard waste booked but she doesn’t. They have broken at least one tile on my roof. He did tell me at least but I will have to replace it or it will leak. On the day they asked for my wifi password which I said I was happy to enter it in but he insisted I write it down. So I have had to change the password now which is a real pain in the ass. I asked the admin lady when she called me to book in a date if I needed to be home. She said no, which I thought was odd. I confirmed it because i had to work in the afternoon. I quickly found out that was not correct and was late for work. Not what I was hoping for. Luke

Hi Luke, We are so sorry about your installation experience here. Thanks for discussing the issues with me over the phone. This was not the customer service we wish to recommend users of our site to. I was happy to hear the installer has now cleared the mess from the property. This was caused by a new sub contracting team from this particular installer which will not be used again and the admin issues have been addressed. As I said if you have any further feedback or questions about anything solar related feel free to contact me at ned@solarquotes.com.au Ned

Hi Helen, Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about this and thanks for the chat over the phone - apologies about the delay in your quotes here, those 2 installers have apologised for missing your request and will be in touch as soon as they can. Your feedback is very much appreciated as it not only helps our service but the service of the companies we recommend. As you mentioned to me you have somewhat of a steep roof - if the installers aren't able to install on it, let me know and i'll provide a specialised installer who is known for their steep roof work. - Ned

Out of three suppliers suggested only one has provided a quote although two did attend premises. The rebates decrease in 2023 and so I miss out as a result of some of your contacts not being as committed to the arrangement as you would have hoped. Perhaps time for you to contact them as this also affects your reputation although perhaps they have so much work they don't really care.

Hi Stephen Thank you for taking the time chatting with me over the phone about your experience here. As discussed, it was a busy time of the year but the delays in communication should have been made more transparent to you. We apologise for this - I have spoken with the installer who did not get in contact with you about the customer service. They also apologised and will get in touch as soon as they can. Thank you again for this feedback as it not only improves our service but the service of the companies we recommend. Ned

I asked for 2 quotes & only received 1. Contacted SQ who told me they would send info of second installer in case they did not reply which they didn't. Why do I have to chase up the tradies? I have used SQ before & was very happy but this time truly disappointed.

Hi Brett Thanks for your time over the phone to chat to me about this. We are always super grateful of any feedback as it always helps us improve. Apologies about that delay in your second quote. This was caused by a holiday rush and the installer was apologetic. I'm confident the companies I have recommended to you directly will be able to suit your installation needs. If you need any more help or have any more feedback please feel free to contact me at: ned@solarquotes.com.au as i'll be keen to help : ) Ned.

One of your chosen 3 said it was impossible to put solar on our roof(your item 7). One was a very high price and was more like a sales presentation and the last was slow to get back to me. I ended up going with Goodhew Solar and Electrical who my trusted electrician recommended.

Hi John, Thanks for your time on the phone with me. As I said in our conversation - I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the 3 installers we matched you with here. I have spoken to the installation companies over the phone who have also apologised. The company who didn't want to install solar on your roof let me know they felt like it was a very difficult roof to work on and did not feel comfortable with it but understood that others may have found a solution. I have also spoken to the installer you mentioned in regards to their sales approach, he has taken your feedback into account. I'm happy to hear you have found an installer who suits your installation needs :) Any further feedback feel free to contact me on: ned@solarquotes.com.au Thanks again for your words and time over the phone as it only helps us and our installers improve. Ned.

My mistake, even tho I operate a business the Solar suppliers were suited mainly for larger systems that were not suitable for my application.

Hi Richard, Thanks for your time over the phone - apologies for the disappointment here. As discussed, you had requested a commercial quote but your business property was more suited to a residential install. We unfortunately do not have any local installers that we recommend in your area - but I've texted you a handy link that will hopefully help you find an installer that suits your property :) Ned.

I requested 2 quotes One only submitted a quote, time to respond took too long, no prior contact to establish the system we sought, inaccurate property details.

Hi Warren, Thanks for letting us know about this, your time on the phone with me and apologies about the delay in your quotes here. I spoke to the company who took some time to respond - they apologised, they are very busy at this time and advised the delay should have been communicated better. The other company I have also spoken to and asked them to take greater care of the users we send them, this was to ensure it does not happen with future users of our site. Thanks again for letting us know about this - as it only helps us improve our service. I'm happy you have now found a suitable installer for your property :) Ned

1/ Quotes did not meet my needs to expand my existing 5kw roof top system All wanted to scrap this and provide new equipment 2/ Battery prices are too high, giving IRR of 1 - 2% not including write off of $7,000 for existing system. Definitely not viable at present. I will wait 6 -12 months and review, focusing on using my existing system more efficiently. Please remove me from your mailing lists as I get too many.

Hey Chris, Thanks for leaving a review and taking the time to speak with me on the phone about your experience. In regards to your comments: 1) It's very difficult - almost impossible - to expand an old solar system. This is because you can't 'mix and match' old and new solar panels - you'd need to be able to find old panels that match the specs of your existing ones, and given how fast things move in the solar industry, this is very difficult. You can, however, add a second separate system which 'combines' with the first one at the meter level. If your roof space is limited, I can understand the logic of installers wanting to scrap the old system and replace it with a completely new, larger one with fresh warranties. 2) Battery payback has a lot more caveats than solar payback at present, so good on your for running your own numbers and coming to that conclusion :) - Jonathon.

Information on the website was good. However. I was disappointed with only being provided with 2 quotes, neither of which met my criteria. In the end, I went with someone else who wasn't through solarquotes.
