I asked for quoted for EV charger installation. One company responded - I received a call from a secretary wanting to schedule a site visit in 3 weeks. I said I needed someone earlier and she said they will do a virtual visit in 1 week. I never heard back from them. 1. Getting only one interested party is not really helpful as i have no one to compare to. 2. This company clearly is too busy and had little interest in my business I went to HiPages and got 3 interested parties and got quotes almost immediately.

Useless service, 2 of the 3 companies just keep sending automated text messages. I have replied but they won't contact me just keep sending automated messages. 0ne company did call but only after I messaged them back for sending a generic quote with out first finf out my requirements or situation. I'm only after quotes from companies that provide professional, personal service tailored to my needs and circumstances. Not companies just chasing a sale.

Hi Deon. Thank you for your time over the phone, I appreciate you explaining your experience. I've looked into this. Over the holiday period, two of the installers you were matched with temporarily switched to more automated quoting systems. This should have been communicated more clearly, and I know how frustrating that was as you did not have the standard install. We agree that proper phone conversations are important, and it’s what we expect from installers on our network. I’ve followed this up directly with both companies to make sure this is handled better going forward in the next holiday period. I was happy to hear that one of the installers was clear over the phone and provided a great quote. It was good to hear that you now have two additional local quotes to compare. I hope our phone call helped and if you need any further quotes or have any other solar-related questions, please feel free to email me directly at ned@solarquotes.com.au Thanks again for letting us know, Ned

Basically useless, asked for a relatively large system in a metro area, got one call from one of the suggested 3 companies, never got back to me with a quote and that company doesnt have a single review anywhere, so at this point Solar Quotes is a total waste of time, don't bother.

Hi Mike, At the time of your request we could only match you with 1 installer, this was caused by the busy holiday period. To remedy this I'll send you an e-mail with some more companies for you to chat with directly that I'm confident will be able to suit your installation needs. Be on the look out for that. Sincere apologies about the experience with the company you were matched with. To be transparent, we actually paused the account of that company you are referring to the week before your request as I had heard of similar issues with their customers. It was not the level of service I was comfortable recommending to our users and I apologise that you happened to get matched with them before we actioned a pause on their account. They were a great client but had unfortunately slipped. In terms of reviews for that installer, we definitely have reviews for them that should have been linked to you at the time of your request. I've confirmed these links are working, but I will chat to the team about how we can better communicate this to our users in the future. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and apologies again about your experience here.

Green Energy seem to be price gauging, my quote was for 32 - 38 thousand, they used a heap of hard sell sales tactics, was not happy, the solar rebate was supposed to make batteries affordable, this sort of behaviour hurts the renewable industry

Hi Scott, Thanks for getting in touch and bringing this to our attention. Apologies about this experience. I've followed up with this company, they let me know they have sent 2 different quotes, one was for a panel add-on and the other was a much larger full replacement of the system, they also let me know both quotes included all necessary work including switch board upgrades and cable running. I had tried giving you a call as I would like to hear from you what hard sales tactics they used, aggressive sales is not something we like to recommend ro any of our users. If it's easier, you can let me know via email. It will help me investigate: ned@solarquotes.com.au Thanks again for letting us know and apologies for the disappointment caused here, hope to hear from you soon. Ned.

Solto quotes has been unable to secure 3 quotes, They have not responded to my queriies. I had one followup call on my queries but i was unavailable and they said they would ring back but never did. I have two quotes but the third company Helloenergy does not return my calls despite over 5 calls by myself and i presume followup by solar quotes.

Hi Gary, Thank you for letting us know and apologies for the experience here. I can see there was a delay in our response that I will be following up to ensure it doesn't happen again and the next time we are faster with these. I can see from our internal notes my collegue Rino has now been in touch to help you out with the quotes I have also followed up with Helioenergy here to understand what happened, they let me know due to the busy holiday period there was a delay in replying - I've spoke to them at length about the customer service and response times we need to see, even in the holiday period. We take this feedback seriously and if this behaviour is repeated we would re-consider recommending them on out platform. If you are still after a 3rd quote please e-mail me at ned@solarquotes.com.au and I will sort it out asap. Thank you again for letting us know as it only helps. I'll make sure we take this review on board and improve, Ned

Our number was passed on to the rebate centre who then bullied us into booking right away and tricked us into paying twice what the system was worth. To say were upset would be an understatement that our number was passed onto whatever scam junk this was

Hi Kimberly, Apologies for any disappointing experience we may have been a part of. I've left you a voice message and e-mail to get more details on this as I'd like to find out exactly what happened here and if one of our installers have done something wrong, I would love help sort it out. If you need it again my e-mail is ned@solarquotes.com.au Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, Ned.

Hi Todd, This is quite concerning for us to hear - thank you for letting me know. I'll be following up with you and the companies involved now to get to the bottom of this and to make sure you are left with quality quote to compare for your solar install. Be on the lookout for my e-mail/call. Thanks again for letting us know, Ned.

I was expecting great responses through SolarQuotes after reading reviews and the many appearances on Social media. Unfortunately my experience has been extremely poor. The companies who “eventually” made contact were your average sales reps, full of hot air

Hi Stuart, thanks for your feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and I’m glad we’ve been in touch over email. Apologies for a bit of a rough start but I'm confident we can get you a good quote and a great system installed. I have made sure to have conversations with the companies involved about their customer service. It was good to hear you’re still in contact with the companies and are discussing a quote, we've discussed a battery option and I’m happy to keep guiding you through the quote process to make sure everything goes smoothly, just let me know via e-mail if you have any more questions. Thanks again for letting us know, Ned.

I have had a very poor experience. I went with the most recommended installer and the most expensive and supposedly the most reputable in WA. However after finalising the quotation and many weeks of chasing to have them do a site visit they came back and said they can’t do a site visit and can’t install within the next 2-3 months which was my main requirement. I must say this was not professional at all. I am now have to start the process all over again. Not happy at all.

Hi Rajesh, Thanks for your feedback, and I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. I’ve spoken with the installer involved, and they’ve apologised for the delay and assured us this won’t happen again. We always expect our recommended installers to maintain a high level of professionalism and communication, so I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I understand how frustrating it must be to have your plans delayed, and I hope you’re able to get things back on track soon. Thanks again for letting us know - it only helps us improve and guide us on who to recommend. Ned.

Unfortunately. Paul from Green Vision Solar has not got back to me after the initial phone call (5/9/2025), when I said I would forward a bunch of requirements, photos, descriptions, information, etc, etc, regarding what I wanted. Probably too messy a project, certainly not a clean sheet of paper.

Hi John, Thank you very much for leaving us a review to let us know about this and sincere apologies, I've begun to follow up on this to ensure the customer service improves in the future. I reached out to the installer who advised they did try to get back in contact with you on the 5th and 23rd of September via phone - could you confirm with me whether that is the case here: ned@solarquotes.com.au We take our client feedback seriously and if the above did not happen we may need to consider whether we would continue to recommend this installer in the future. Thanks again for letting us know and looking forward to your communication. Ned.

Hi Clinton, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and sincere apologies about this. I will be following up with the installers who missed quoting you and find out how the ball was dropped here to ensure it doesn't happen again. I have left you a voice message to see if you are still open to receiving quotes, I'm confident I can recommend you installers who will quote you promptly and efficiently. Feel free to call or text me back. Thanks again for letting us know, only helps us improve.

Hi Nadir, I understand, it can be frustrating to get matched with a company who is further out than you were expecting. Rest assured that company has let us know they do service your area and are happy to quote you. We are working on expanding our network at the moment, especially with hot water heat pump installers to avoid this in the future. Thanks for taking time to leave us a review. Ned.

Hi Martin, We’re sorry to hear about your experience and would really like the chance to discuss this further with you. I’ve already reached via phone and email, please don’t hesitate to return my call or email when you can so we can better understand what went wrong, we definitely do not want to be recommending any installers who 'don't know much about installation'. I'd be very keen to follow up on this Thank you for taking the time to review our business, Ned.

I have to write this using a text editor, to copy and paste to the form, as, in the course of writing the content that I was writing, whether due to an inadvertent keypress or otherwise, control went to a new screen, and I could not go back to the content that I had partially written. The whole process for obtaining quotes, was completely unsatisfactory, and, I had expected better from someone who professes to be a qualified and accredited engineer. The process lacks an appropriate formal methodology. 1. In making the initial request for obtaining the quotes, the question was asked as to how soon, the work is wanted to be done. The options were fixed, rigid, and, mutually exclusive, and, inappropriate for the circumstances of the timing of requesting the quotes. The options were something like immediately within the next 4-6 weeks and some other option. That screen should have been modified, especially, as applicable to the circumstances at the time of submitting the form, to include the question and option, something like "If no recommendable installer is available in your local area, to provide a quote for completing the job in the time period that you have specified, would you be willing to go to the next available period of time, in order to get quotes from installers local to your area?" Instead, after a day or so of submitting the form, I got a response, something like "We have no installers available in your state, so, here are a couple of out of state installers, that we recommend to provide you with a quote". 2. The details provided for the job sought to be done, as provided in the form requesting the quotes, were either not passed on to the companies that were referred to provide the quotes, or, those companies ignored the details, if the details were provided to them. The initial contact from each of the referred companies, did not either acknowledge or refer to, the details provided in the form requesting the quotes. 3. The two interstate companies that were referred, for providing the quotes, requested from me, details, which were provided. Neither company acknowledged or referred to to the details that were provided. One company simply did not communicate further. The other company requested details that they had not previously requested, and, I provided those details, and requested acknowledgement of receipt, and, received no further communication from that company. Both companies appear to have had the sole objective of wasting my time. 4. I also sent a request for a quote, directly to the company that is highest recommended by Solar Quotes, for the Perth metropolitan area, for working with the particular components; Fritts. Neither of the two companies that were referred by Solar Quotes, are shown to work with the particular components. Fritts requested details, without acknowledging the details that I had supplied, and, neither Fritts nor the other two companies, appear to do on site assessments to determine what can be offered, despite the explicit statements from me, that on site assessment is necessary, due to the limitations and complexity of the particular site. So, the Fritts company, also, despite an explicit request for acknowledgement of receipt of the details, including requested photographs, has not provided acknowledgement of receipt, making me wonder whether the requesting the particular photographs, was for some sinister motive, given the details requested in the requested photographs. 5. I received a message from Solar Quotes, in response to my response to a query as to whether I had received quotes from the referred companies; my response was that I had not received quotes from them, and they had just messed me around, so, the Solar Quotes person asked whether I wanted quotes from other installers, to which I replied that I do, and, that, rather than the option of wanting the work done immediately, asked whether any installers would be available that could do the work in the next four weeks or so. No acknowledgement of my response, has been received,m from Solar Quotes. 6. All in all, both Solar Quotes, and, its process, appear to me, to be quite bodgy, and, not up to the standard that I expect from someone who professes to be a qualified and accredited engineer. So, I am not at all happy with all of this, and, would not recommend Solar Quotes.

Hi Bret Thanks for taking the time to write us a very detailed review. I’m really sorry your experience with us has been so frustrating. I can see how much time you’ve spent providing details and trying to get things moving, only to feel like nothing has been acknowledged or acted on properly. That’s not the kind of experience we want anyone to have with SolarQuotes. You’ve raised some fair points about how rigid our form is, how installer availability is handled, and how details are (or aren’t) passed through to installers. We know these are weak spots at the moment, and we’re in the middle of improving the quote request form so that the information is clearer and more useful for installers, and so that customers aren’t left feeling ignored. Also sorry we dropped the ball on follow-up communication. That’s something we are normally great on but needed to do better here. Your feedback here is really helpful and will go straight into the work we’re doing to fix these issues. I know this doesn’t change the experience you’ve had, but I want to thank you for being upfront with us. It’s clear we need to lift our game and I'll pass on the feedback to the team. Thanks again for letting us know, Ned.

Hi Stuart Thanks for your feedback, and I’m sorry about your experience. You indeed did request a 20 kW system in our form, but unfortunately the installers missed this detail and only quoted for a smaller system. I completely understand how frustrating that must have been. We’ve have been speaking in the office regularly on how this information is passed on so it’s much clearer to installers in the future and should be introducing something soon. Apologies again for the time wasted, and thank you for letting us know so we can improve. If you would like another recommendation send me an email at ned@solarquotes.com.au and I will help out. Thanks again for letting us know, Ned.

Hi David, Thanks for the chat over the phone, I understand the frustration as you were looking for a simple e-mail only quote. Our installers like to go a bit more in depth sometimes with a phone call and I'll pass on the feedback to them. I'll also provide you with another installer who I'm confident will give you a solid, reliable quote. Thanks again for your time and feedback. If you have any other questions about quotes or during an install let me know at ned@solarquotes.com.au Cheers, Ned.

Hi Michael, Apologies to hear about this. I've tried calling you but your phone line was down, I'll send you an e-mail aswell. I would love to hear more detail on this so I can follow up, if installers haven't contacted you I will make sure it happens. I can also see you are in quite a rural area, if you need a specialised quote we do actually have a few options your way so I may be able to find an installer suitable for you. Let me know when you can: Ned.

That was totally waste of time. Two of them didn’t even call the one who called, his price is too high. I found one independent and given him a contract to do it. I won’t recommend to anyone. Maybe these people are too busy.

Hi P, Thank you for sharing your experience and your time on the phone with me. I am of course sorry to hear that two of the companies did not follow up with you. That is not the level of service we expect, and I have already contacted both those installers directly so they are aware of the issue and can improve their response to future customers. Your feedback helps us keep our network accountable and ensure other customers have a smoother experience. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know, and we wish you the best with your new solar system - however do please be careful when researching cheaper systems, we go into it here: https://www.solarquotes.com.au/cheapsystems.html If you have any other questions or feedback let me know at ned@solarquotes.com.au

The compant referred was South Australian and did not hold a Western Australian electrical licence. Unsuprisingly they did not bother to contact me.

Hi Peter, Thank you for letting me know - that is a real shame they did not get in touch and I'll be ensuring they follow up asap. I'm sorry we referred you to a disappointing experience here. Regarding the electrical licences, we go into the state by state variations here https://www.solarquotes.com.au/installers/licensing-selling-solar/ and have this to say under WA: 'In Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, our understanding is that an entity selling PV systems does not need to have its own Electrical Contractors Licence if it subcontracts the solar installation to an entity that has an Electrical Contractors Licence.' However I do understand the concern and will be asking them to obtain their own WA licence for peace of mind when dealing with potential customers. Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention - only helps us improve. Ned.

If you have any questions or more feedback about the quotes when they come in just send it through to me via email here ned@solarquotes.com.au and I'll help out where I can : ) Apologies we referred you to an installer that was already quoting you, however you can be assured they are one our recommended, strictly vetted, companies.
