Sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience. We’ve looked into it and it turns out the installer assigned to your quote request wasn’t able to service your area, which understandably led to frustration.
We’ve now updated that installer’s service area to prevent this from happening again. We’re also actively working on adding more quality installers in your region.

Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry you didn’t receive a quote. Since you're in a rural area, we were only able to match you with one installer. Unfortunately due to the busy period solar is servicing they could not find time to make an appointment to come out to you. I've changed their account details and what area they service so this doesn't happen again.
We’re always working to expand our installer network, and I've made a note of which area you're in so we can source more installers. In the mean time I will send you a text with a 3rd party link from the NETCC that may help.

“No local quotes, closest was 300km away. People who did quote would not come and inspect first for a complex situation so had no idea of setup and would have been a disaster. Not worth using solar quotes if you are not in a major city.”

Apologies about your experience here - as you were in a rural area we were limited on the installers we could recommend you at the time of your request. Generally those installers will do a home visit but in this case they were not able to provide it. I have spoken to them about offering home visits in the future. There is another installer I have in mind for your install that I will put you in contact with, I'm hoping they will be able to assist you.

What I would strongly recommend is looking up the reviews of the company you end up going with and sort by the lowest rated. It will give a good indication of service and also how a company responds to the situation.

“Got 1 quote not the 3 as advertised. That one quote was beyond expensive and the company didn’t really care about trying to get a sale but more so wanted info on who you chose that was more competitively priced and proceeded to run other companies down. I personally have stayed clear of anything to do with solar quotes companies and despite asking to be removed from any correspondence I am still getting emails asking for reviews. So hopefully they will now not follow up and cease all correspondence.”

“Not a fan of this. There were two companies closer to me (20 minutes away) that provided better service than the three provided by Solarquotes. One company recommended by Solarquotes, Reef Solar in Gladstone (about 2 hours from me) spent the entire phone call slamming Brisbane based companies and stated 'there's no way they can do that for that price'. Didn't bother asking me any questions about what I wanted, just spent a good 10 minutes bagging out another company. Totally unprofessional.”

While it was very disappointing to read this - thank you so much for letting us know about it, as I am ensuring it does not happen again. I have had a chat with the director who understood and is going to have a word with his team as that is not the kind of service we want to recommend. It's one of my personal peeves when companies speak negatively about other businesses as as you have probably felt - it just puts people off the whole industry.

Unfortunately as you were looking for a ground mount system it is going to be harder to find and installer to suit your needs - they are much more expensive and most installers are not equipped to install them. While we do not have one in our SolarQuotes network - what I will do is send you a useful link that may help you hone in on an installer to suit your install needs.
