Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad two of the three companies contacted you and that you chose Smart Energy. It’s great to hear the service saved you time.

“Thank you helping me out to find the contractors, however i have found separate contractor who was really affordable and basically giving me same products. Also the finance option was also found separate with 0% interest rate. All three contractors you gave me wasn’t even close to the ine i found. 13k for 13.2k/w of Solars and 42k/w of batteries. Therefore i wouldn’t recommend solarqoute to my friends and family if they are looking forward to find contractor.”
Hi Aabhi, thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
I am glad to hear you were able to find a system and finance option that worked well for you. Pricing in solar can vary a lot depending on installer margins, system design, battery brand, after-sales support, warranties, and whether corners are cut in areas that are not always obvious at the quote stage.
The installers we recommend are independently reviewed, fully accredited, and priced to deliver compliant installs with solid long-term support. They may not always be the cheapest option, but the goal is to balance price with quality, reliability, and service over the life of the system. If price is your only criteria, you may get unlucky with the installation or customer service.
We have written a little guide here on what to expect with cheap prices: https://www.solarquotes.com.au/panels/cost/ I hope it helps in case you are curious
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best and luck with your solar system,
Ned.
“SolarQuotes is a site I regularly check for information. They are recommended by Choice consumer magazine who do not give out recommendations lightly. They gave me 3 sellers of battery systems and most acted very promptly. The one that was alittle slow were quickly chased up by SolarQuotes. After much checking I have signed up for a system with one they recommended.”
Hi Keith,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad SolarQuotes provided reliable information and promptly followed up with sellers to support your decision. It’s great to hear you found a recommended provider and have signed up with confidence.

“SolarQuotes was a great help! It was really overwhelming to sift through providers in our area, but the solarquotes process helped us ask the right questions, find the right research, and connect with a (hopefully) great company that we feel comfortable working with over the life of our installation.”
“SolarQuotes takes some of the worry from getting quotes for solar and batteries.
With an easy request through their website I was provided with three companies to seek quotes from.
I received the three quotes and now am on my way to savings on my household electricity bill.”
“Was looking at upgrading my solar system by installing a battery. Solar quotes made it easy to research what was needed with the right advise and information. I then received the 3 quotes requested and clearly had the feeling that because they were requested through SolarQuotes, I was treated with more care. I did get another separate quote from a reputable installer but not affiliated with SolarQuotes, it was comparable pricewise but nowhere near as detailed and thoroughly explained.
Thanks”
“I think the idea of Solarquotes is quite good. If someone doesn't know where to start, you've got great information and a referral service of trusted providers. I think where it is lacking is value for money. Out of curiosity, I got one quote for my place and the price was $5000 higher than what I could get on my own. This was from an electrician and solar installer I trust and who has already done work on my place. The hardware was identical in both cases. My installer didn't even pass on the $1400 PV rebate in victoria. He only added the STCs and was still cheaper. It should also be noted that my installer offered a lot more STCs for the exact same hardware, which makes it look like the solarquotes one was pocketing some STCs. Meanwhile, the solarquotes recommended installer added a lot of line items to the quote to make it look like I was getting a lot of value. For example, he added "Certificate of electrical safety", "Free solar monitoring" and so on. Now, the certificate is a mandatory requirement and the monitoring was being provided by the OEM's own platform so neither was a true free addition on his part. He also added a bollard even though my battery was no where near the garage or carport.
I have no doubt the solarquotes person would have probably done a good job. But when the price difference is this high, its hard to recommend Solarquotes.”
Hi Vaishnav,
That you for the communication over the phone, and for leaving us this feedback. As I mentioned, SolarQuotes does not have the ability to set our installers prices, we would be in very big trouble if we did that. We refer customers to independent installers, and their prices can vary quite a bit depending on labour costs, brands used, business overheads, and how rebates and STCs are handled like you mentioned.
However all accredited installers should pass on the correct rebates and calculate STCs properly. If something doesn’t look right, we encourage customers to raise it with us so we can look into it. If you can - please forward me that quote you mentioned so I can look into this and make sure everything is above board. We do take these issues seriously and act when standards aren’t met. I'm also interested in talking to your solar installer in case they would be a good fit for us. I'm always open to more feedback or questions, you can also give me a call or e-mail me at ned@solarquotes.com.au and I'll help where I can : )
Thanks again for your time,
Ned
“Basically useless, asked for a relatively large system in a metro area, got one call from one of the suggested 3 companies, never got back to me with a quote and that company doesnt have a single review anywhere, so at this point Solar Quotes is a total waste of time, don't bother.”
Hi Mike,
At the time of your request we could only match you with 1 installer, this was caused by the busy holiday period. To remedy this I'll send you an e-mail with some more companies for you to chat with directly that I'm confident will be able to suit your installation needs. Be on the look out for that.
Sincere apologies about the experience with the company you were matched with. To be transparent, we actually paused the account of that company you are referring to the week before your request as I had heard of similar issues with their customers. It was not the level of service I was comfortable recommending to our users and I apologise that you happened to get matched with them before we actioned a pause on their account. They were a great client but had unfortunately slipped.
In terms of reviews for that installer, we definitely have reviews for them that should have been linked to you at the time of your request. I've confirmed these links are working, but I will chat to the team about how we can better communicate this to our users in the future.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and apologies again about your experience here.
“Prospective providers were given quickly by SolarQuotes. However response was slow from them but eventually made contact and after visits from two companies reps was able to decide on course of action.”
