“I needed a few quotes to compare as all the “we are great” companies never got back to us. I’m guessing too much work out there. But as an ex builder who takes pride in my work I know “those companies” will disappear as soon as demand starts falling.
I got 2 return contacts, first with Expert Electrical, Matthew has taken care of us excellently as well as found out our original “brand new” installation of 20kw system solar panels and inverters from RACQ/Gem Energy were actually the incorrect inverters that we were quoted for. We were supposed to get “3 phase” inverters, & Matthew picked up that they have installed “single phase” inverters. Good pick up! Excellent pickup! BAD RACQ job. Now will come a claim for incorrect installation.
The second contact was Paramount Solar. Ally was the contact. So many photos & bills were needed. I’m not your black boy/servant, I’m busy also. All I wanted was a ballpark figure firstly for as large a battery as we could get for about 20k. Never heard back from Ally again? So we signed up with Matthew and Expert Energy, and in the end we are spending approximately 25k on the 3 phase battery.
What I’d say is, if you’re having a hard time getting quotes from the fly by nighter pop up solar installers, try Solar Quotes. It has finally come good for us.
Last thing. Do heaps of research on solar, if you are on 3 phase, & want over 10kw system, DO NOT let a solar company install single phase inverters.”

“Three quotes for battery addition to existing solar promptly received. As there was a significant variation between lowest to highest, used competitor website to get another three quotes and by chance a door knocker, from a Solar Quotes highly recommended installer. All up, seven quotes ranging from $11,000 to $17,000, for exactly the same system, replace Sungrow inverter with Sungrow hybrid inverter utilising $1,000 trade in offer and 16.0 kWh Sungrow battery. Using Solar Quotes and easily obtained equipment cost from web, which closely matched, determined install cost ranged from $3,600 to $9,800 so worth doing in-depth analysis. Worst example was $4,700 increase between a 9.6 kWh and a 16.0 kWh battery to install two extra battery modules which cost $950ea after STC.”
