Solar Quotes online info is amazing. The small number of specifics I could not find (so I emailed SQ) were responded to quickly and in depth.
I have accepted a quote and now await the installation of my system (post COVID-19 lock down!). So not there yet, but V Optimistic.

“I have found the information available very useful in helping me to decide what panels and inverter to use. I did not use any of the companies who provided quotes. Two were not in my local area - one was in Brisbane and the other denied being based in Melbourne even though I used a Melbourne number to try and contact him. The other was local but he just provided two quotes without even asking me what my requirements were. Quoted me for a system with 26 panels when my section of the roof could only take 15 panels. He would have known that if he had at least spoken to me. I emailed him my requirements and I have not heard back from him.”

“Only 2 quotes: One of the firms quoted without coming to site. The other just sent a list of RFIs about installation requirements and did not quote. I signed up with a well-known reputable firm who did a site inspection and whose quote was less than the firm who quoted.”
“I ended up receiving 6 quotes. 3 where very much based on price. "order before end of week for this special deal!" The other 3 where more on quality of product with obviously much higher prices. Knowing very little about solar, I did a fair bit of research, and ended up going with the second highest price option using premium equipment. Gave go ahead today Thursday, Being installed the following Monday. Feeling very confident of a good choice!”

Both Solar 1 and Central Spark emailed me quotes within a satisfactory time after on-site inpections. price quoted vary considerably between my first, and these two latter ones, and no decision has been made as to who will gain the contract as I am still in discussion with at least two of them.I will post my decision and a further rating when I have decided.”
