“An absolutely outstanding trip! Unique Japan Tours made every moment of our honeymoon magical. Eva and Momo-chan went above and beyond to make sure everyone on the trip was happy, prepared and had a great time. The destinations were spectacular and you really learn what is unique about UJT, the trip was filled with unforgettable moments and once in a lifetime experiences. Using the Vamoos app. means you are always prepared for the next adventure. The knowledge of the UJT staff and the fact every local guide knew their city so well meant that any question could be answered and any request could be catered to. The guides were able to impress us all with the details about the attractions, temples and shrines we got to enjoy on top of some amazing food recommendations. I highly recommend the first-class experience on offer. Visiting Japan has always been on our bucket list, now returning to Japan is! Amazing trip, amazing company and amazing value! Thank you all for making our honeymoon so special and unique!”

“Oomi travel were able to produce an excellent itinerary which enabled us to visit a lot of Japan in just a 2 week period. Oomi booked all the hotels, made all the transport arrangements and provided guides for 3 1/2 days, which turned out to be just right. All the travel plans worked perfectly and the hotels were the right standard for us. The guides were engaged, knowledgeable and interested in their subject. The price of the package was competitive when we benchmarked it against other similar providers. I would have no hesitation in recommending Oomi Travel for your holiday plans in Japan. A special word for our consultant Shizu, who dealt with all our requests quickly and was always available to provide any additional information that was required. It was a pleasure to be a customer of Oomi travel.”

“Oomi did an excellent job of organising and executing our perfect honeymoon trip to Japan. We explained when and where we wanted to go and they quickly arranged a full plan and breakdown of costs and tweaked it to our budget when we asked. The app & pre departure guide was such an excellent tool and we used it throughout our trip. Oomi was on hand throughout the trip with the emergency number which was very reassuring. All the activities planned and tour guides they chose were excellent and it really helped us make the most of our time in Japan. They even left a small gift for us at our final hotel which was so thoughtful & kind. I would 100% recommend Oomi to anyone wanting to visit Japan.”

“We returned from our amazing Japan Discovered small group tour last week and just wanted to take the opportunity to pass on some feedback which we hope you will find useful. First of all we have to say it absolutely was the trip of a lifetime. From start to finish there were non-stop wow moments which just kept getting better and better. However we must emphasise that key to all of this was our fantastic guide and group leader, Toshi Nakahara. We cant praise him enough because he was unbelievably good at all times and regarding every element of organising our trip. He was always professional, considerate to our needs and wishes and extremely kind and generous with his own free time. Even when there was no arranged meals or trips, he would kindly organise restaurant reservations and social occasions for the group on arrival at a new location. If we were checking in late to our hotel he would have arrangements made or suggestions for the best options nearby. This was a great bonus after a long day travelling. He always went over and above what our expectations were and was constantly thinking of ways to tweak things in order for us to get the maximum from our schedule. The highlight for everyone was getting to see Mt Fuji in sunshine and without any cloud cover. This was fully down to Toshi bringing us there early morning instead of afternoon. We all got amazing photos and 30 mins later Mt Fuji was completely masked by the cloud, He was also great fun with a sense of humour that we really warmed to. Toshi is excellent at what he does and is a credit and an asset to your company. We were also very happy with the other local guides on the tour such as Tammi and Yoshi and others who were also excellent. The group were a fantastic bunch of people who we were delighted to share this experience with. The trip itself was amazing. It can be tough going sometimes, with all the travelling and living out of backpacks. However its absolutely worth it in order to cram as much as possible into the itinerary, which was fantastic. There were small issues with certain hotels and transportation but overall we had a holiday and experience which we will treasure forever. The cost of the trip was worth every cent and would consider it great value for all the great benefits we got. In conclusion we would have no hesitation in recommending your company and this tour. We already have to several friends and will continue to do so at every opportunity. We wish you every success in the future and many thanks to all the Oomi team. Arigato!!”

“What an incredible itinerary. We definitely covered a lot of what Japan has to offer: from the culture, history, beauty, wildlife, cuisine, and festivals to the modern urban bustle. The hotels were terrific, and for the most part, well located. The dinners were fabulous examples of Japanese cuisine. The only criticism I would have is that, they possibly tried to cram TOO MUCH into each day’s activities! I think maybe cutting out one venue on the multiples would have been better to just relax and spend a bit more time at each place. Like just a couple of hours to explore on your own, instead of rushing off to the next site. For instance would have loved to spend more time in Hakone shops (and probably more of a personal preference, but less at the Open Air Art Museum). And instead of racing through the Tsukiji Outer Market, let us go on our own afterwards. Your team should be especially proud of Maddy! She was fantastic and made our trip the best ever. Maddy expertly guided our group through every phase of our journey. She thoroughly provided us with local knowledge and general Japanese customs and expected behaviours, so as to not offend locals or embarrass ourselves. All the while, exhibiting an effervescent and friendly personality. Maddy most certainly went above and beyond. If there is any grade higher than A+, then Maddy definitely deserves such an outstanding ranking!”

It's interesting to hear you would have preferred less activity on your schedule. The reason we make full suggestions is to ensure everyone's needs are covered. One of the main benefits of doing a bespoke trip is to allow for flexibility on your trip. You can adjust the itinerary yourselves if you wish. If this was not clear to you we can only but apologise for that. Perhaps a cultural difference too as Japanese people like to do things 100% accurately. “We just returned from our small group Japan Discovered adventure, and we had a fabulous time! Madoka (Maddy) was our tour leader, and she was amazing – very organized, very clear about what we were doing for the day or the next day, and very specific on when and where we needed to gather in order to move to the next activity. We travelled with 5 other couples who we did not know before the trip. Although we all had different backgrounds, we were all of similar age and got along marvelously, which added to our trip enjoyment. Our trip required some adjustments as a result of the G7 summit occurring in Hiroshima, but we still hit most of the activities described in the brochure. We really enjoyed the “Discovered” part of the tour. It seems our visits to Kanazawa, Gokayama, Takayama, Yudanaka, and Hakone were somewhat off the beaten path and gave us exposure to sites that most people don’t get to see. We really appreciated those experiences. The entire trip was quite well organized and thought out, including the communication we received from the office before the trip. All of the hotels and group-meal restaurants we went to were great and met or exceeded our expectations. The meals that were part of the tour package were top notch and exposed us to diverse Japanese cuisine. However, some of the hotels were a little out of the action. We would have preferred to have hotels located in areas or neighborhoods with a lot of restaurants or bars close by so we had a few more options for the free evenings. Generally that happened, but our hotels in Kyoto, the final days in Tokyo, and Takayama were not ideal in this regard. My understanding is that hotels in each city can vary depending on availability. Although Maddy our tour leader was fantastic, some of our local guides were less so. I’d say generally, their knowledge was fine, but their lack of English language skills among some made it difficult to understand or to get them to understand questions we were asking. I think many members of our group were a little frustrated by this. Again, my understanding is that local guides could be different depending on their availability. One heads up for anyone going on this tour (or any tour for that matter). We had one free day in Kyoto and one free day in Tokyo. We really weren’t thinking about this until the day before, and as a result, we were scrambling to come up with a plan for our free day (especially in Kyoto which was our first free day). I suggest you have a plan or make tour arrangements for your free day well in advance. That way you won’t be scrambling at the last minute like we were! We would definitely recommend this trip for anyone with similar interests.”

“We had a great group on this tour and we all got along well. The guide was new to doing tours as she usually works in the office. It was great having a youthful guide. Everything was taken care of. Even having taxis take us to location when it was necessary. Everything went smoothly and after we experienced the large cities and maneuvering thru them with a guide it made me appreciate the tour more.”

“We were on one of the first tours to enter Japan after their reopening in October, 2022. Our tour was 'Ancient Trails of Japan' which we were attracted to because it promised lots of walking and hiking and a unique cultural experience. We were not disappointed. We logged 8+ miles around Tokyo on our first day! The hikes on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route were amazing! A certain level of fitness is required here as some of these trails are steep, but the views are well worth the effort. The hike between Magome and Tsumago on the Nakasendo trail was less strenuous, but still rewarding with beautiful mountain views and historically preserved towns. This was our first trip to Japan and we feel like we got a great introductory experience with a good mixture of city sights and immersion in nature and Japanese cultural history. Our guides were all extremely professional and were willing to go the extra mile to make sure we got a good experience. Our thanks to: Toshi, our tour director who was with us for the whole trip and made sure everything went smoothly; Sue, our guide for a wonderful day in Tokyo; Yoko, who guided us through an equally stunning day in Kyoto; Kazumi and Waka, our guides on the Kumano Kodo; and Uki, our guide on the Nakasendo. All of these beautiful, helpful, and knowledgeable people helped make our trip a most memorable one. I would recommend Unique Japan Tours to anyone interested in a cultural experience that will resonate for years. They are a professional and well-run organization and their people on the ground in Japan are some of the best in the business.”

“Unique Japan Tours did a DYNAMITE job with our trip to Japan, October 2022. First, they negotiated the fluid restrictions imposed by Japan government to allow tourists to visit, and us to see our daughter studying in Tokyo. Second, we were completely prepared at every juncture of our trip from arrival to departure, airport pickups, trains, hotels, baggage checks, personalized guides and right down to the correct bus/bus stop and bus queue in Hakone. Their use of Vamoos with all of our travel information was equally brilliant. Thanks so much for your genius Darina and UJT team! Couldn't recommend Unique Japan Tours enough. “The service was excellent. The staff listened to what our interests and budget were and created a truly excellent itinerary that made for an unbelievable honeymoon! One of my favourite things we did was a stay on Naoshima to visit all art galleries and contemporary art installations and exhibitions. We stayed in a beautiful hotel and rented bikes to cycle around to see all the sculptures and installations. It's something that I never would have known about had we not organised our trip through Unique Japan tours. Also the city tour guides they arranged for us in Tokyo and Kyoto (Tokyo at the last minute at that) were amazing and gave us unique insights into the city and bringing us to both the top sights and also the places that were a bit less well known.”
