“Promptly delivered. Good quality game. Personal touch. When the delivery was delayed by courier, for 4 days, offered to refund the cost. However, the meat was so well packed with ice packs around that it arrived in good condition (it was in winter).”
“Been ordering the venison offcuts for my dogs raw feed for the past year and the quality has progressively gotten worse. Although they mention that the product can contain up to 20% fat, ive noticed that more and more of the packs contain higher percentages of fat, sometimes even visually looking around 35%! This is a grade A product and I’d hope that in the future you are more conscious of what you are filling the packs with for your future customers. I’ve since found a new supplier that’s cheaper, grade A quality and contains virtually no fat in the supply. Thank you for your service, but I’m sorry to say I will no longer be purchasing from you.”

“have shopped here for a few years now , and love the fact that it real meat and real wild game , as when you go to a supermarket it is nothing like the stuff you get here , no additives and no water injected iinto meats , but beautiful meat full of flavour , i love making things with venison , it replaces beef in a lot of recipes and so much healther for you as well , and love the wild duck , rabbit , is great when it is in season , theyt even have recipe ideas that you can get on the website if yyou are not sure they will give you ideas as well , they are a great team , and fantastic customer service , my go to place”
“Ive pretty much stopped buying wild meat. It is all packed in plastic packaging which I try to avoid and game birds like partidge, pheasant etc come from english shoots which are not yet licensed and where game keepers are largely suspected of persecuting birds of prey and other predators. So overall not very environmentally friendly. I would buy venison which is wrapped in polythene. recyclable it is but in practice most is not recycled even if you think it will be. We need to stop using plastic packaging.”

Thanks for the review about plastic packaging, on which we have already corresponded by email in February.
We concluded that a viable alternative to plastic/polythene wrapping currently does not exist commercially. For the benefit of others I am pasting an extract of my emailed response at the time:

We are trying our best to use sustainable, recyclable packaging and are pleased to receive ideas for improvement."
With regard to the persecution of birds of prey, this is alleged to be a problem with the management of grouse but is rarely found with woodpigeons, wild ducks, pheasants, and partridges. There is no statutory licensing system in existence in England and Wales although those who wish to ban the hunting of game are calling for it, specifically on grouse moors where it now exists in Scotland.
