I was very unhappy with the service I received, I wanted to book a family room at Glenburn lodge and I specified in my initial request that I required a room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Once I received the quote, I called to double check that I was being quoted for a family room and this was confirmed. I made payment thinking all was in order. It was only when I called to change the date for my booking that I was told that I would have to pay an additional amount to cater for the kids. Needless to say that I was extremely annoyed and asked that my booking be cancelled. I have since sent my bank acc details for the refund but have not got any response.

Dear Mashooda Forbes, we would like to inform you that a Family Room was booked for you, unfortunately the quoted rate does not include children. Additional charges are applicable for children depending on their age. We did try to get the children fees waived for you, we were only able to get them reduced. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment caused. If you review your bank account today you will notice that the full payment has been refunded to you. Unfortunately even after making FULL. PAYMENT on arrival at the Oyster Box Hotel our names were omitted from their list. We spent over an hour and a half waiting for them to find some receipt or letter from yourselves acknowledging our booking ! Very embarrassing at a hotel of this standard ! They in turn were extremely kind and generous in receiving us. Our room was beautiful and there after our stay could not have been better.

Dear Mrs Howe, thank you very much for taking your time to provide us with your review. We are terribly sorry for the delay you experienced at check in. When you arrived at the hotel, the hotel spoke to myself, Ryan Mackie. The confusion in regards to your reservation came about as we had two guests under the name of Howe with different check in dates. The hotel made the assumption and thought one was a duplicate booking. I spoke to the Front Desk Manager and resolved the issue as we are on duty 24 hours a day to assist our guests. The error was not caused on our side, it was caused by the hotel. As these things do happen from time to time, we do not want to pass the blame and are very sorry for the inconvenience caused during the start of your stay. There was no honesty in the dealings, I definitely did not get what I asked fore in short I was scammed the deal was changed after payment was made. it was clear to me that the deal included meals as I requested but I was cheated. furthermore I enquired with the hotel the amount I paid was their standard rate per day for meals to be included of which you paid less ( only room rate) self catering. to make matters worse I phoned before payment was made about the self catering issue and I was assured that this is so to facilitate the deal it does include meal. I feel CHEATED!!!

On the quote sent to you, we stated: "Self-catering units are room only and exclude breakfast and dinner.". We assumed that this would make it clear for all meals to be excluded during your stay. Furthermore, on 14. April 2014 (17h05), our booking confirmation forwarded to you mentioned "Please be advised that a self catering 2 bedroom chalet has been booked to accommodate your family." We are terribly sorry should you feel that we failed to meet your expectations, it was not our intention at all to mislead you in anyway.
