The website is easy to use and the payment process was straightforward. An email confirming my booking was sent to me soon after taking payment. However, the company failed to respond to two emails from me asking for additional information about exactly where and when the lodge collects guests. Fortunately I eventually found this information on a mix of their website and in my travel guidebook, but it would be useful if the company provided this information with confirmation of the reservation.

The booking agency did not book correctly as I requested a double bed room and I was booked into a 2 single bed room. The reception staff at the hotel soend some time before they could find us a room as requested. Not acceptable.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast tasty and adequate (albeit a bit expensive in terms of cost for children). But few negatives: Bed uncomfortable, new mattress needed, only one pillow, had to ask for more. Found some clothing of previous guest on floor behind chair. (Was Room cleaned properly?) In comparison to other Road Lodges I have stayed at i.e. Kimberley and Bloemfontein, PE needs to re-furbish and bring their rooms up to their standard.

Didn't make me happy, I do not like your accounting I will not be booking with anyone that is using this Pending method I have never encountered it before but I understand lots of Companies are using it, it must be to your advantage it's confusing to the client.

Hi there Ryan, hotel is nice and everyone is friendly. My only issue is having to step out to the reception each time am thirsty. There could be an emergency in the middle of the night and going all the way won't help. A fridge should be provided in the rooms for drinks and water even if it's going to be additional charges

My last experience with a South African Hotels was less than pleasant. Upon our check-in at the Genesis Suites Hotel on 4 November 2016 after a long 5-hour drive, we were informed that our reservation had not been paid for and we would have to make a payment of R 5,550.00 for our 3-night stay bill (@R 1,850.00/night) on the spot. I then explained to both the front desk staff member and manager that we had settled the entire amount of our stay upfront and had even received e-mail confirmation from South African Hotels. Unfortunately, I had not brought a copy of the invoice with me. However, after requesting internet access at the hotel's business centre, I was able to provide them with a copy of the invoice. We were then checked in and told that a follow up would be made with South African Hotels. By this time we were confused, worried and upset by the whole episode which had unfolded in front of other guests. It was not until I checked back with the hotel's front desk a few hours later that I was informed that the payment had been sorted and the matter was now settled. In light of the above, I would have thought someone at South African Hotels would care enough to offer its client an apology for the inconvenience suffered but to this day (16/11/2016), none has been forthcoming and I find that very disappointing.

They recommend me to another hotel as my first choice was not available. What they failed to tell me was that the hotel they recommend was in a really bad, run down area. If I knew that , I would NEVER accepted the recommendation. Bad, Bad, Bad.

It didn't. Very quick to take payment but slow on delivery, so far - we only travel in November!

Promptness of responses, willingness to change price when I was able to find a price 10% lower than the first quoted price. But why did you quote a price that was 10% higher in the first place? The implication is that the buyer should investigate further to ensure that s/he has found the best price. Rather, yours should be a one-stop shop.

there was a confusion when on check-in because the hotel didn't get full information from people who were processing my booking.had to wait for 30 minutes.I think it's given that poeple prefer sea facing side esp. when booked earlier.it brings confidence that we are treated equally.no prejudices.Thanks.

Initial booking process was satisfactory. However I need to make a change in the date and several emails to make this correction have not been answered!

The lodge is quiet empty and impersonal, there is incident tape blocking off access to the beach and deck area. The bathroom is a bit mouldy and there were lights not working in the hall and the bedroom, while the lodge is in a good position it was not worth the money.

Hotel suggested or booked at did not justify the rate charged.Hotel being Road Lodge is not worthy of being part of tourism Cape Town, big disappointment. Pay a little more, live in comfort.

The booking process was good, the hotel was okay. The hotel was in a wonderful location with an amazing view however our room did have a leaking toilet and shower, our card didn't work too well to open the door as it took several times before the door would open and our plugs stopped working at one point. The staff however were very helpful.
