“I have been staying at City Lodge ORT several times over the past 6 years while working in Lesotho. Somehow this time when I went to make the reservation it did not go direct to City Lodge but to you. I found your system burdensome and costly. In the interest of good customer service it should be clear that you are just a travel agent and charge a commission. I will avoid this route in the future.”

“I was unable to get wifi once I confirmed and paid for my room and. The company did not send the link with directions to the hotel with my confirmation. I could not find the hotel using a smart phone and google map directions. I asked for a refund but was denied.”

Dear Ms Andrea Barnes, thank you very much for making use of the review feedback service. We regret that you were not able to find the hotel which you had booked through us. The directions as well as GPS coordinates / map are available on our website for this particular hotel. Furthermore do we provide our clients with a 24/7 available cell phone whereby we can be reached at anytime. Your message was received in the evening after which time all hotels do charge for the nights accommodation. We had paid the hotel in full already and the hotel as, as a result of your non arrival, charged us with the full cancellation fee. Around the OR Tambo Johannesburg Airport is a 4G network and Google maps have exact locations of hotels. We appreciate your kind understanding in regards to this matter. “I was really cold the evening I spent at this hotel/B&B and there was no electric blanket on the bed and the air con did not work. I also felt the carpets could have benefited from a good shampooing. Otherwise all was fine, it was reasonably priced and central which is what I was looking for.”

“Good day, Thank you for requesting my feedback. I would like to highlight the fact that I was disappointed with having to pay a 10% penalty for cancelling a booking on the same day that it was confirmed by yourselves. The transaction took literally 3 working days and cost me R200 for nothing. That is not what I call service. I travel often to Durban to visit family and prefer booking in online. I will not make this mistake again and I have warned my friends against this service.”

“I had booked a double room only to be put in a single room. The Lodge said all the double rooms were occupied and there was nothing they could do. They called your office and told me that you were closed for the weekend.”

“Reception poor, hotel is shabby, needs refurb, rooms, furnishings old, bathrooms look relatively fresh. Great location, though.”
