“Very pricey, but worth the money. Ran into some shipping issues where the pieces didn't make it together in one day. A minor annoyance, but not the end of the world.
The desk is a real stinker to assemble by oneself but as soon as you're done, the delayed gratification is worth the trouble.
You must download a mobile app if you wish to use the assistant function and programmable presets for your desk.
I used to loathe sitting at my desk at home all day. Now, I rather enjoy it!
It can stand the weight of quite a bit. The reason I purchased this desk was because I needed a desk that could comfortably support the weight of my Wacom flex arm and Cintiq 32. Great for artists.”
“The desk arrived in a lot of boxes and I was immediately intimidated. The instructions included were woefully inadequate, luckily for me there were amazing BTOD assembly videos on the site and YouTube. The videos did an amazing job going over construction and I was able to get it put together and I love it. It does exactly what I wanted it to and it feels sturdy and high quality. It's also not as loud as some of the feedback would make you think, but mine is setup in a dedicated office. If it was a cube environment or in a bedroom with multiple people, the sound may be a bit much if there is constant adjusting.
My one recommendation to BTOD would be to just get rid of the instructions and just include a list of the materials, a key, and a page with instructions on how to find the videos on YouTube.”

Would I recommend:
Absolutely, without reservation. This desk is awesome, the service was great, and we were still able to assemble it properly despite having to fight with the instructions a bit.
Details:
The purchase experience was good, because the website is designed in a such a way that you're never groping for an explanation of a given feature, and there are a ton of features from which to choose. Also, the numerous options for dimensions were all explained well. More about this later.
Once purchased, I was able to reach out via email to customer service to get a ballpark shipping date, and info about the shipping method, in a prompt, friendly, helpful response. This was a good sign, because I felt like if anything went wrong they'd be there to help me.
My desk arrived quickly via FedEx. It arrives in 5 boxes, which is to be expected for a piece of equipment this size. The boxes were all labeled 1, 2, 3, and so on.
This is where the only downside begins.
There was no indication of where to even begin. Logically I started with box 1, which was the main desk top. No luck. Turns out they were in the box with the crossbeams and similar long parts.
Like that one relationship we've all had, the instructions started off so good, everything was looking like this was the one, and then... nose dive. Like all good instructions should it started with illustrations of what's included and the tools you will need, so I was able to stage all of that in my work area. From there it was all downhill. Steps were skipped. Parts that were not explained how to install were just magically somehow in the installation, leaving it up to you to figure it out. It's never really mentioned anywhere to place the legs, but not attach them, until everything else is in place.
The diagrams have overlapping lines, often making it impossible to see how a part and screws are aligned.
Speaking of screws, there are two different types of wood screws: the main type for everything, and a specialized type for the buttons/controls. You have to find this out the hard way, and I almost ruined the pilot holes for my buttons due to this.
I could go on, but let's just say the instructions are more like guidelines at best, and the illustrations are often cryptic, requiring much deciphering.
This is where the only downside ends.
While assembling, I was comforted by the quality of workmanship. There was no sawdust or woody bits leftover from the drilling of the pilot holes, all of which were precise, accurate, and clean. There were no jagged edges, or rough beads on the metal components. Everything was packaged and protected with care. It all spoke to quality and pride of manufacture from fabrication to fulfillment, and this really drove home that I had purchased a great product from a great company here in the USA.
Once assembled and moved into place, this desk is a joy. It is somehow also a beast. I mean that in the best way possible. It looks amazing, it functions flawlessly, and most importantly to me, it is *Rock Solid*. Almost no wobble whatsoever. Caveat: I opted for the commercial version with the extra crosspiece because stability is one of my main concerns.
If you're worried about barking your shins on the crosspiece, put your mind at ease. It is high enough that this is not a concern. I am tall (6' 3") and have long legs, and I have no issues with the crosspiece getting in my way. I use my same footrest as I did before, no problem, and can even stretch my legs out to put my feet up on my subwoofer with no issues. I highly recommend the crosspiece if absolute stability is a thing for you, it's 100% worth it.
I love the clean lines and simple look I love the expanse of empty space underneath to mount my own cable management. There are no rough edges or seams along any part of the desktop, and the veneer is lovely; you could almost forget it's a veneer.
Speaking of, like I said, more about the features. Two things:
-Make sure you pay attention to which dimension is which. AxBxCxD. This is explained when you're ordering, but it might help to draw a diagram so you get exactly what you want.
-I would have liked to have had the option to pay a bit more for an upgraded, solid wood, sustainable desktop, such as bamboo or rubberwood. Something thicker, richer, a littler classier, to really take this thing to 11. l understand that at this pricepoint that may be untenable. It just would have been nice to have an "executive option."
I love this new desk. I got a big one, 24x72x72x24 with a few upgrades and it was about 1200 to the door. It has been worth every damn penny. Working from home is vastly improved in every way, including organization, ergonomics, and health.
BTOD, hit me up if you want me to take over your tech writing. Together, we can fix the illustrations and instructions to bring them up to the level of your outstanding product.”
