I have had this chair for exactly a year and I love it. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

When I first received the chair the cylinder didn't work and would not allow the chair to maintain its height. While it took longer than I wanted, I was eventually sent a new cylinder for the chair which worked well. After being able to use the chair, I determined that it was the right choice for me. I have had disc issues for years which cause nerve pain in my hip. With my previous chairs I needed to sit on some form of padding to make things bearable. No pad is needed for this chair. While I was a little nervous about spending a decent amount of money for a chair, I would make the same decision 10/10 times. Great option for anyone who is looking for a quality chair while not being able/willing to spend thousands of dollars on some of the other name-brand chairs. Return policy is also nice, so buying this chair is at least worth giving it a shot.

Its spendy, but I was spending more than this on chiro and massage after long editing sessions. My back and neck pain has gone down DRASTICALLY! Just do it.

The back rest of the Lamia is extremely comfortable (especially with the lumbar support removed, at least for me) and all the adjustments one can make for the back, arms, and seat are fantastic. Unfortunately, I found that the seat cushion of the Lamia was too hard to sit on for extended periods of time. When sitting for 2-3 hours circulation to my feet and legs would without fail be cut off, causing my feet to get cold and "fall asleep," even with the chair adjusted to theoretically minimize that possibility. Unfortunately, I could not justify keeping a chair at this price point with this experience. Customer support was fantastic and the return process was easy and smooth.

I spent a lot of time researching chairs, I have a bad lower back and sit in my office chair +/- 10 hours a day so it is really important to me. I have been using it for about a week now. So far, I am on the fence. I love the back support and adjustability. I have read that the seat needs time to break in, I hope that happens soon, the cushion is very firm...almost too firm. The frame is solid and heavy, it feels like a great quality build. The thing I dislike the most about it is the fabric. This probably isn't a big deal for anyone who wears pants all the time, but if you try to sit in this chair in shorts or a skirt, it is like sandpaper on the back of your legs. It literally hurts. I had to buy a chair cushion cover immediately, which for a chair of this price/quality, seems insane. The cover will hopefully solve that issue. I was also disappointed in the length of the seat. I have long legs and even with the seat fully extended, the cushion ends more than my hands width from the back of my knees. I have to keep my feet on a riser to stop from cutting off my circulation. I am pretty sure that I will end up giving this chair to my husband and continuing on my search, but I will give it some time to see if it breaks in and is better. I really want to love it!

Had the HM Gaming Embody for my home office for quite some time and was debating getting a second one for the work office...until I came across the Lamia. Honestly shocked at how comfortable this chair is and it has only gotten better as I've broken it in and adjusted to it over the past couple of months. I really didn't think any chair could knock the Embody off the top spot for me, but the Lamia is the real deal. Didn't expect to enjoy this chair as much as I do, but I go into the office more now...just to sit in this chair lol. Still love my Embody and it's no slouch, but there are levels and this is just a notch above. The seat, lumbar support, and adjustability are all just a smidge ahead of the Embody, and come together to provide a truly unique and incredibly enjoyable seating experience. The one area that the Embody takes a W on is the recline, which is hard to beat on the Embody. Kudos to BTOD for making this available, it's an experience and absolutely worth the hype it gets.

Will start with I love what BTOD does with all the videos, watched them probably a hundred times, so great job there. I have tried a lot of all these high-end chairs and am still in the hunt, but probably will go back to Leap V2. I saw the Lamia option and was hoping that it may be the chair and it would be great to save some money compared to the original, it still is $800+ so definitely not cheap (and I understand it's a mix of two). I was expecting some visual imperfections, but was honestly quite disappointed with the overall quality and not sure how some stuff could pass the quality control process. - The up/down function doesn't work - it goes all the way down and up when I sit on it and stand up. Something with the handle I think. - The first time I tried the lumbar it slid off on one side - the teeth on that side are pretty much gone - Armrests are quite shaky, wiggly - The backrest's right side is deeper than the left = feels like I'm slightly falling to the right side Overall just feel like this one was used for many years, loose here and there, and just not what I was hoping for, but the main ones are the functional issues which surprises me. However, I knew the return would be without hassle so no problem there, I tried, it didn't work, returned it, all good - just gonna have to spend more for the original from Steelcase.
