“The hype is real. This chair solves the only thing I didn't like about the Leap and I now have my perfect chair. I have tried the Aeron, Embody, Gesture, Soji, and a ton of budget chairs and nothing will ever touch this. In addition to this, the job that BTOD does in the refurb process is incredible. Aside from some expected wear here and there like a couple rub marks, the chair looks flawless. So happy that my search is finally over. Thank you BTOD for making this crazy combo!!”
“I haven't sat in every office chair but I'm fairly confident I've watched every office chair review on youtube. BTOD Greg sold me on his Frankenstein's monster of a chair and I have no regrets. I'm 6' 1" and my wife is 5' 4" and both of us find the chair extremely comfortable. The seat, the flexible back, the tilt tension, the recline, and the lumbar support all feel great. I'm also happy to say that for those of us that prefer armless office chairs, these arm rests can adjust so low and far back that they're nearly entirely out of the way.”
“I was sold by the videos of chair tierlists. Just need 2300+2400 to make my own Lamia.. Then I see BTOD sells this refurbed for 799.99.
I'm 97% satisfied, if the arm rests had a tilt back and forth like a see-saw I'd be at 100%.”
“This was my first foray into higher-end chairs; up to this point I had been using a mediocre racing chair. I picked the Lamia after watching a lot of BTOD TV and reading reviews and discussions from around the web. I am fairly happy with my choice; it is a huge upgrade in comfort from my old racing chair, especially in the seat where the old chair was particularly lacking. There are lots of adjustment options which is nice, and the chair is heavy and sturdy which feels good from a durability standpoint. The weight might be annoying if I had to carry it from floor to floor a lot, but since I don't it just makes it feel more solid.
I took off one star because of a pair of minor refurbishment issues: there is a fairly small gouge taken out of the top of the right armrest as though the tip of some tool had struck it, and the back upholstery fabric doesn't seem to be glued to the pad in the top half so there is a noticeable (but not uncomfortable) air gap between the cloth and pad. Neither of these is a big enough deal to warrant a return.
I lack the direct experience with other high-end chairs to give a good comparison, but from a personal-enjoyment perspective this is overall a very good chair. I'm happy to have upgraded.”
“I'm 6'1" 215. Have an injury to my spine that has caused major nerve damage from the waist down, so I've been on the hunt for a new office chair. Returned a Fern and Aeron, both brand new and fully loaded. I haven't used a Steelcase chair before, but I have watched countless videos on YT regarding chair features and BTOD has been one of the best comprehensive channels by far. I know the seat pan of the Leap V2 is good for some and not for others, but for a third of the cost I thought I'd give the Lamia a try. I know it's refurbished, but BTOD's return policy and warranty match those of the premier suppliers. I am very happy with the comfort of the seat as well as the adjustability of the backrest and tilt function. The arm rest from Steelcase are definitely the best of the three top tier suppliers I have tried so far. The delivery was slightly different from HM and Hawarth with a small amount of assembly, but it was only connecting the piston to the seat and then the base, easy as can be. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase and with my current medical condition, my bar is very high. I own a business and cost is no option, but this 800 chair far surpasses the 2.4K+ I've spent with others. Thanks guys.”
