“It's obviously very difficult to purchase an office chair without sitting in it first. That's where the BTOD videos were so very helpful and the money back guarantee if the chair did not work. Our backs reach the back of the chair as the seat is not as deep as in some chairs, thus affording us the use of the lumbar support in the Lamia we were craving. It was simple to put together and we are very happy with our purchase.
Our only two complaints would be that it only comes in black and the arm rests could use some padding, especially when in the chair for hours at a time.”
“If you bought this chair, you know that it's one of the few claimed S tier chairs out there. It truly lives up to this moniker in my opinion and then some. It's incredibly comfortable for extended periods of time. I usually try to spend half or more of my day standing, but with this chair find myself extremely comfortable for way too long. A good problem to have and I just set myself reminders to stand up now.
My chair looked perfect when received but was a little rough/grindy with the slight chair back give (expected/normal play). I emailed BTOD support and heard back same day with some AMAZING tips to get some WD-40 dry lube into some strategic spots. Fixed the issue right away and took me maybe 10 minutes!
It's been almost a month now and the chair is holding up incredibly well. No reason to believe it won't last well past the included 12 year warranty (insane that they include what Steelcase proper would on a brand new chair).
Lastly, just wanted to note the 2 minor add-ons I did myself post purchase:
1) Search "Steelcase Leap Herman Miller Aeron headrest" and you'll be greeted with a Reddit post that details adding said Aeron headrest onto this chair. It really works perfect and with the incredibly strong zip ties, it feels insanely sturdy. 10/10 headrest to add to this chair and especially compared to the junk Steelcase headrest they originally made for the Leap.
2) Add rollerblade wheels if you have wood/laminate/very thin carpet, either from BTOD or buy some yourself. I picked up a very nice set from Amazon and absolutely love them.
All in all, after going way to deep down the office chair rabbit hole, I'm insanely satisfied with this chair and BTOD. 10/10 would buy again!!!”
