The eko core makes a great acoustic stethoscope, into something on a different plane altogether, listening to heart sounds is easy and took everyone who tried it by surprise.. because it picks up everything and gets you to reinvent something as simple as auscultation from the start, but just beyond the learning curve as with any new technology, it is something that I would prefer to use in every patient exam, be it respiratory/ abdominal/ cardiovascular examination, each needing some getting used to as far as auscultation with such a sensitive device is concerned. It's worth the price and hopefully, the software upgrades keep making improvements.

I have a severe hearing loss and had never heard the lub dub the heart makes. I bought the Eko and I finally hear the heart beat as it should be heard. I love the Eko.

This device is a must have for the EMS world. Perfect for being in the back of a noisy ambulance for 12+ hours. Heartbeat and breath sounds are so clear. Noise canceling works great.

I am very satisfied with the device. All the sounds are clear and loud. I do have a suggestion though: The option to customize the buttons on the device would be appreciated. I don't really use the record button. But what I would like is to easily toggle between the Cardiac, Lung and Wide modes on the device itself while listening to the patient. I would be happy to go into the app to record the sound. Therefore, I think the record button (and possibly volume buttons) should have the ability to be customized. I'm sure this can be done in a firmware update?.

I'm an LPN in my last semester of RN and knew I wanted to upgrade my LPN stethoscope to something that I could actually use. I was going to buy a new stethoscope when I found this and decided I should give it a try (it costs as much as a new stethoscope anyways). I applied it to my Littman Classic II and it works really well! It amplifies the sound so well and everyone I let listen through it is amazed as well! The noise canceling is okay, you can still hear the muffling of moving the stethoscope over clothing, or when the patient is talking (you can hear the words they're saying through the steth on their chest!) I really like how you can record the sound and waveform and show other nurses or providers and it has an examination tool on the app that can assist in detecting murmurs. Some colleagues say that it's unnecessary for an RN to own/use one, but I say they're just jealous lol. It may be a bit over the top for every RN to own, but I think it's certainly worth it, especially if you want to improve your assessment/auscultation skills.

The sound is amazing but it does not stay on my stethoscope. The tubing is not tight enough.

Seems to dampen sound when not on and is a slight improvement when activated. Don't think it's worth the price point.
