“I am an older veterinarian with less than perfect hearing. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much louder the heartbeats were with the Eko Core. I can also hear abnormal lungs sounds better. And it is easier to hear the heartbeats “under” the purring in cats. This was a great investment! I also like and use the volume control, as now, sometimes, remarkably, the sounds heard are too loud. The only complaint is the attachment makes it a little cumbersome applying the stethoscope to smaller animals chests, but I expect to adapt to it pretty quickly.”

“I had a good Littman Cardiology stethoscope so I just bought the core attachment. It works well for amplification and the blue tooth connects easily but now that I see the Bluetooth reading, I wish I had paid a little more and got the new head that transmits an ECG read out”

“For the most part, I really like the Eko digital attachment. I was, however, extremely disappointed to find that you have to sign up for a paid plan in order to use live streaming. While undesirable, a delay in sound may be tolerable when listening to heart and breath sounds. Delayed sound is problematic for monitoring blood pressure accurately. It felt like a bait and switch situation. Once I figured that out, I couldn’t even sign up for a paid plan online. I was directed to submit my information in order to have some contact me. Pros: Digitizing my stethoscope Wireless auscultation Visualization via Eko App Cons: Live streaming requires paid plan (this is not disclosed up front) Lack of transparency on the website about plan costs Inability to sign up for a plan online”

Thank you for your review and feedback. You do not have to pay for the wireless auscultation feature with the CORE. The paid live streaming feature is in regard to our Eko Telehealth solutions, which yes, is at additional cost. “The infection control aspect of keeping my stethoscope in a ziplock that can be wiped with disinfectant between patients without damaging my stethoscope is great. Also, I work in a jail and not having a stethoscope with tubing that could become a weapon is a definite plus.”
