The amplified heart and lung sounds make it easier to perform an exam with greater reassurance that ambient noises do not interfere with clinically relevant findings.

Thank you so much!

This is a leap ahead like the original core is over my standard Pediatric scope. The sound is clearer and more ergonomic. The usb port seems much more sturdy though I still recommend using a magnetic charging cable to decrease wear on the port. Well done!

I am a 54 year old Family Practitioner with mild hearing loss. I recently got hearing aids. In looking at options for amplification for auscultation, I ran across this device and with the 30-day return policy, decided to give it a try. I was hoping I could hack a way to get it to communicate directly with my bluetooth-capable hearing aids, but there wasn't much I could find about it to tell me either way how that would work, so I didn't plan on it. (It doesn't communicate directly with them, and it confirmed that in the short manual. I do wish I would have seen more clarity about that on the website, but I could have missed it.) The device is well-built and even looks nice. I installed it without difficulty. (Who would have thought that after being in practice 25 years I didn't know that I could simply forcefully pull the chest piece off of my Littman without breaking it?) When I turned it on I initially thought it was too powerful, but I simply turned down the volume and it's perfect. At it's lowest amplification setting I can hear heart sounds better than I could with my regular hearing before I had hearing loss. After using it daily for 2-3 weeks, I use it mostly for cardiac auscultation. Sometimes it's almost too sensitive and noisy for lung sounds; every tiny movement of my hands in holding on the chest is amplified. But I'm still getting used to it. I find myself turning it on and off during exams just to decide how I like it. It turns on within about 1-2 seconds, so is responsive. And with it off, I don't think the device itself interferes with non-amplified listening. Pass-through is good. My main concern with listening to the heart is that I'm going to start diagnosing every grade I murmur! I don't always wear my hearing aids when I'm with patients, because one-on-one I don't have as much trouble as I do in groups or restaurants. But when I do, I actually use my stethoscope on top of my aids without removing them, (widex, standard behind the ear type with pass-through canal speakers) which doesn't work too bad, and with the amplification is pretty good. It's slightly uncomfortable to do that for very long, but fine for 30 seconds or so. If it could link to my bluetooth hearing aids wirelessly, it would be a 5-star device. Until then, I'm giving it 4.5 stars. The techie in me doesn't understand why it couldn't, since I can connect my hearing aids with my phone, and can connect the Eko to my phone at the same time. But I'm holding out hope they could add that at some time as an enhancement. I had several of my non hearing-impaired partners give it a try, and they couldn't believe how well it worked. It's a great product, for what it does, and I'd highly recommend it as a good option for anyone who has mild-mod hearing impairment, or even those with normal hearing who just want to hear heart sounds better.

Excellent stethoscope attachment. It is pretty easy to install. Easy to use I love the fact that you can choose to listen to cardiac sound and pulmonary on the application. Noise cancelling works excellent

Thank you for creating this equipment, I used it every 2 hours for my patient assessment I just wish that there is a way for me not to use my phone to connect with this device due to personal information and HIPPA violations. I am very happy for my Eko device because it works and it saves time and lives.

Sometimes it works too well and I need to lower the volume. It's good. Recommend.

I use the amplification to compensate for my aging hearing and high frequency loss.

I’ve had the Core for a little bit over a month, overall is a really good experience. The pros, easy to use, battery lasts long time, parents are exited to hear The patients heart, and this helps giving them a better explanations when there are murmurs or additional sounds. The bad; is sometimes too sensitive, and even with the filters when patients move or are uncooperative (Peds!), is hard to use. Overall I think is a great tool. Little hard to install in a Pediatric Littmann, but can be done.
