“I really liked the look of the scooter and it's performance at first. After about 3 months of riding, my scooter turned off suddenly and never turned back on. I had to pay to ship it to Miami since customer service told me this scooter was too difficult to trouble shoot over the phone. This was costly but the scooter did work afterwards. About 8 months later (no longer on warranty), my scooter started beeping and the wheel seized up and then shut off again. I had to ship it back to Miami and pay $100 for repairs. When returned to me, the scooter's max speed was decreased by a few MPH and now had a cruise control feature that it did not previously have. I am guessing they replaced some internal part with parts they had around their shop but it still seemed weird. Now, about 6 months later the scooter again started showing error signs and randomly shut off, never to turn back on. I have been calling and texting customer service with very little responses over the past two weeks. And this scooter was going for about $400 at the time. Unless you live in Miami, I would highly recommend avoiding this scooter to avoid all the headaches. It is certainly not worth its new price. It also only gets around 5-6 miles going about full speed most of the time through the city - nowhere near its 15 mile range.”
Hi Tom,
We’re sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. We’re committed to providing a great customer experience and we would love to make things right. Upon checking our records, i did notice that the first time you sent your scooter for repairs (July 2021) it was replaced with a new one at no cost. Also, i see that the last time you contacted our support team was in February 2022, when we repaired the scooter for free. You were only charged with shipping costs. If you are now experiencing new issues with your Cityrider, please contact our support team through the following link: https://support.fluidfreeride.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. BR
“My scooter had it rough due to the environment of my location. Though initially, it was quite frustrating as I wasn't able to find a shop nearby that could provide repairs. The customer service of fluidfreeride has remained professional and understanding of my situation for *OVER SIX MONTHS!!!* They continued to reply to my email in a very timely manner, scheduled multiple calls, and provided various different solutions to my complicated problem!!! I was able to converse with different divisions of their departments to keep finding a way to fix my scooter, and I wholeheartedly appreciate their dedication to the quality of the user experience!!!
I am ordering an explore *RIGHT NOW!!!* And trust me, you should too!!!
You just can't go wrong with fluidfreeride!!!”
“The city rider scooter itself is top notch for quick city rides but it did have a defect on the back wheel making a clicking noise after 10 miles of riding. Fluid sent a replacement wheel after contacting support, the part arrived quickly, but there were no instructions on how to replace the wheel. I was told a tech support would walk me through it, after a week of no follow up I spent over an hour tinkering with it and managed to replace the wheel myself. While the initial response was prompt the follow up was lacking. Even with this issue I am still recommending this scooter, it's fast and fun to ride around the city for a good price.”
“This is my first electric scooter to use as a work commuter in Berkeley, CA. Overall, it's a great intro to electric scooters and has helped me determine what I'll look for in future scooters. I was very drawn to the solid tires, as I didn't want to deal with potential flats, maintaining PSI, etc. However, every bump in the road will shake your skull, so I don't recommend this scooter if you primarily go along older or non-asphalt roads. And as it says in the description, anything more than the slightest of inclines is a struggle for this little baby. All this to say, I love everything else about this scooter, and highly recommend it as a lower-cost and reliable intro.”
