I've been using the scooter for a day or so, and this thing is a blast. As expected, it struggles up some steep (>16%) grades but really takes off on flat or downhill routes. Even in those steep hill situations, I was always able to keep above 5-6 kph by pushing along with my foot, with the hub motor working in support. The brakes take a bit to get used to, it almost seems like the electric brake is at 0% or 100% when you depress the lever. You can feel the effects of the regenerative brake as soon as you hit the throttle after a downhill. At just under 30 lbs, it is easy to carry around or lift over curbs, which makes this useful even with a decent number of stairs to get down to street level from my house. The lights are bright, the turn signals are an awesome feature and all around I am very happy with this scooter. The heat-shrink cable connecting the motor to the deck seems like it will get in the way of turning the wheel, and I can already see some signs of wear on that outer shield. I might put some supportive/sacrificial padding on that part to keep it in good shape.

So I've had this scooter for 2 days now and have had a great time so far. For the price after rebate,im not sure it can be beat. I personally use it as more of a "toy" and less of a short distance commuter ride. I weigh in right at the weight limit of 220 and i feel that i'm not quite getting a full 10miles out of the scooter. But considering if you weigh considerably less I'm sure than 10mile limit can be more reassuringly reach without feelimg like you'd run out of battery in the middle of your ride. The head & tail lights are very good I feel. They're bright enough for sure to be seen at least by cars. I think the turn signals are never going to be a realistic feature to need to use but are a nice feature nonetheless. Overall I view this as a 'starter' scooter that's a great deal for the price.

I've been casually shopping for an inexpensive scooter, but I could not find anything in between the disposable cheap ones at wal-mart and the quality ones north of $500. This Fluid scooter is right for the first time buyer. I'm a big guy (220lbs), and I occasionally rent a Bird/Lime around town. If I add it up over the past year, I've already paid for a Fluid but didn't get to keep the scooter. So I pulled the trigger on Monday, and the box arrived on Friday. Set up was really easy. You need to screw in the handle bars, charge it a bit, and you are on your way. Probably 10 minutes from box to on the road. Immediate reaction: Really smart design for the throttle. Once you hold it down for a few second, it locks in cruise control and you do not need to keep it pressed. Using the brake turns off the throttle. Very smart, unlike the rental scooters. On flat ground, the scooter keeps up a good pace, getting to 30 kph (18 mph). I have not figured out if I can change the screen from kph to mph yet . The scooter stops accelerating at 30. Charging was 2 hours after the first full ride. The scooter is built for flat roads, and does not like hills. That really affects the speed and battery life. This is truly designed for flat roads. The design is clean, with nice wood finish. More attractive than rentals. The folding aspect is a nice touch, and was easy to pick up and carry into my office.

TL;DR Probably the best entry level scooter I've tried. Great for short commutes in chilled rides. Just about gets 5*s Background: - I'm too heavy for the scooter - Bought for short flat commutes, dog excercising & riding along with family - Comparing with GXL, M365, ES2/4/Max Ordering and Delivery: 5*s - Ordered Sunday night, arrived Thursday morning. Easy, quick and tracking info Build Quality: 5*S - Good: Feels well built, easy to put together (just put on handles), nice matte finish, wood board and grip a nice touch. - Bad: Barely anything to mention. If being picky the charge port cap doesn't feel like it'll last long. plastics around the hook that keeps it folds scratches when it's attached to rear foot brake. Computer: 4*s - Good: Nothing special but everything you need:- Clear, easy to navigate, bright, and nice edgeless display. Cruise control a nice feature if fiddly. - Bad: km/h only you - Fluidfreeride make this clear but still mph would have been better. Also the cruise control can be frustrating Ride: 4*s - Good: Quiet motor, smooth throttle, good breaks. Easy to swerve and manoeuvre, good speed for this class. Honeycomb tires do soften shallow bumps. - Bad: Struggled up hill with my weight but that's to be expected. Crossing the road or a tram track is Jarring - miss the front spring of the ES2/4. Battery: 4*s - Good: Got about 5miles out of it, with 1 bar left. Charged to full in about 3hours. Not unlike others in this class - Bad: Performance degraded once I got to 2/5 bars. Top speed was about 5km/h slower on same path. Looks: 5*s - Good: Seriously pretty machine, has a retro feel to it with the wood board. Stands out and different without being showy. - Bad: Nothing Safety: 5*s - Good: Brakes were good, with added rear brake if you're panicking. Front light illuminated the path well, rear light seemed bright and blinks under braking. Indicators are a nice touch, even if I'm not gonna be doing too much turning. - Bad: Nothing yet

Ordered on Tuesday, arrived today (Thursday). Super-easy to inbox and get going. Taken it out for a first ride and all good so far. Really well put together - no rattles or shakes. Smooth ride. Smooth acceleration. I don't mind the kph speed and, unlike the comment in the vid, I quite like the cruise control (maybe I'm just lazy). Early days but highly recommend this scooter and Fluidfreeride!
