“Seriously, the brakes are awful. They don't stay tight, so you have to adjust them every single ride! I have been riding for 8 months (well 12, but it was winter in the Midwest for part of that), and this problem has persisted for the entire time. On a recent ride, half of the front brake pad just came off mid ride - yeah that was fun...
I do not know if the brakes suck because the roads here are extra bumpy, or if the parts just aren't made to stay tight, I did not have this problem with my $200 GoTrax though.
If it was not for the brakes this is a five star ride. The power is great, no slowing on hills. The ride is way more comfortable than I expected for non-air filled tires. The battery life is fantastic as well. Seriously, why do the brakes suck so much?”
“I got the wide wheel pro about 6 months ago it is a ok scooter but if the road get cracks in it the tires are bad really bad wood I buy it again no I wood get shock and air filled tires and be careful my front wheel came lose at 30 miles on it but did not come off”
“This was my 1st escooter. I did alot of research before my purchase so I knew exactly what I wanted. I have put 100 miles on the scooter and can confidently say I wouldn't buy it again if I could go back in time. First off the power is good , and it accelerates strong, but the top speed with me on it is 24mph. Being close to the weight limit Im sure has an effect, but when riding top speed I always feel like im missing the extra mph. Next is the suspension/ride , the wheels and springs are only good for smooth pavement. If you roads have potholes, ruts, basically anything other then perfect, the ride will cause you to chip a tooth.
Lastly are the brakes. The brakes are the worst park of the scooter by far. They need constant adjustment, and realignment. Pretty annoying on a brand new unit. The brakes alone would have me looking for a different scooter. Combine the brake issue with the choppy ride and top speed I wish I got something else.
On a side note, the wide wheel charger stopped working a week after purchase and fluid free ride was easy and helpful to deal with getting a replacement.”
“I live in the Bay Area and I love my wide wheel!!! I use it for commuting to work, getting groceries, or just to chill and ride. This thing has some power; I'm a big boy and this beast carries me up these SF hills with ease.”
