“Even though I've never ridden a scooter before, I bought the Mantis Pro to use as a full commuter from Queens to Manhattan. Even on the lowest settings, it packs a ton of power. I'm able to stay in economy/single motor mode 99% of the time but it's great knowing that I can really punch it if I need to by putting it into turbo an/or dual motor mode (which is crazy powerful).
It feels very stable and the hydraulic suspension is able to handle a lot of the bumps and unevenness of the NYC roads.
A few other observations:
-It definitely feels a lot heavier than I thought it would, and even carrying it up a few steps was intense.
-The rear fender is not long enough and the back of my jeans were covered in dirt after riding it the morning after it rained.
-The platform is actually quite high, but having that extra elevation is great for seeing above cars coming at stop signs and intersections.”
“I've had the Mantis Pro for about 3 months. It has been reliable and a joy to use. It's very solid and suspension feels great. The dual disc breaks are excellent. The battery has been good and range is plenty for my 4-6 mile commute. You can switch between single/dual motor, eco/boost and other settings to customize acceleration, etc. I've had 3 other scooters and the Mantis is by far the best.”
“Approximately one month ago I received my Mantis Pro scooter from Fluid Freeride. Prior to that point I had been riding the Xiaomi M365 to and from work every day. The Mantis provides far greater comfort, control, stability, power and range compared to the Xiaomi. It's almost like comparing a bicycle to a motorcycle. The scooter weighs 65 pounds, at this weight I am able to comfortably lift it over short distances. I have had zero issues with build quality and functionality. The Mantis Pro is everything I hoped it would be - a fantastic scooter.”
“I originally purchased the Widewheel dual motor. Was informed that the Widewheel had brake issues and was offered to upgrade to the Mantis at a discounted price. I took the offer and went with the Mantis Pro. When I got the Mantis Pro after putting it together I noticed the hydraulic rear brake line was kinked. I emailed to let FFR know of the issue. They responded really quickly with an email and a phone call from pete. They gave me a break down of the my options to repair or replace it with another unit. I chose to attempt to repair it on my own. The new rear brake line and the new caliper arrived within 2 working days. Very fast. It took me awhile to get the scooter up and runing because of my busy schedule. But I finally got it repaired. Just like everyone here i was super anxious to ride this beast. Took it around the block and it was a blast!!! The power, handling, braking, and throttle was very smooth. I was very surprise at how good that scooter felt especially going up hills. The only draw back I have with the scooter is 2 things; The scooter is a bit larger than the normal that's why I call it the Beast and the folding mechanism is very time consuming. Wish it had a quick release design folding hardware. But overall I am very happy with this scooter. I feel like it can replace a car in terms of traveling to places because of its speed and distance.
Conclusion.....
If you want a good powerful scooter the Mantis it + This company has very good customer support and service that knows alot about the product they sell. = Buy your next scooter from them. I will most definitely not hesitate to order another product from FFR. Very happy with my order. Thank You”

Onto the review:
The Kaabo Mantis Pro. Arrived 2 days early, which already has me pretty happy. Setup was pretty simple, just set the bar upright, screw in the handlebar, check all bolts and screws to ensure everything was snug, and good to go. While I would normally recommending charging the battery before riding out, I couldn't resist as the unit came with about a 67% charge. After watching Peter's setup video for the EY3 display, I was off to the races. Overall, I had a blast. I was able to keep up with traffic, which roadways around here range from 25 MPH - 35 MPH. Bike lanes are plentiful, so when I didn't want to flow with traffic, I was able to keep pace and track very well.
Pros:
- Lots of settings to change to dial in the ride you want.
- Lots of power. Out of the box, I was able to hit about 40 MPH. Will need to be verified via GPS. Weight will also play a part into this, I'm only 145 lbs.
- Very stable. Surprisingly stable at higher speeds. Was able to turn my head 90 degrees without feeling any wobble.
- Solid construction. Doesn't feel like it's breakable with wear. Standard upkeep should keep this thing working for awhile.
Con (Maybe my fault):
- There seemed to be a little bit of play in the handlebar, likely due to my error in not completely ensuring that it was tight, though I buckled both clasps and they seemed firm. Again, likely my issue, but if after tightening I find that it is not, I will update my review.
Actual Con:
Electric brakes are tuned a bit high, even on the lowest setting. I believe this is mainly an issue of my weight though. It felt very, very abrupt.
All in all, seems like a very well built machine and thank you FluidFreeride and Peter for bringing this statesite!!!”
“Thanks Julian from fluidfreeride and Michael from Kaabo for bringing this scooter stateside.
After about 100miles since it's arrival in Chicago at my doorstep a few weeks ago, I have to say that this scooter is a BOMB.
It took a few long rides to get acquainted with a proper riding stance and confidence on the mantis, but once I learned how to break effectively and shift my weight correctly - it was off to the races!
This thing is a beast in the city downtown, TRAFFIC DESTROYER! When in full power mode and duel motors, I'm still running 45+miles range in colder temperatures right now @110kg rider, so I'm pretty impressed with the battery performance thus far. I think I've topped out at 39mph on gps but could have pushed it more for sure.
The suspension is very comfortable (like a cloud) and with a longer deck and rear foot board, I love the riding stance on this scooter, very agile.
I've added some light accessories etc etc, and the LED deck lighting is great for night rides or even just flipping on so that nearby cars or bikes can see you better if you're in a busy area.
The duel motors is quite a bang, extremely fun and " racey ", but ALWAYS RIDE WITH SAFETY AND WEAR YOUR GEAR MY FRIENDS - this thing will put a smile on your face, and tears in your eyes if your not wearing goggles.
And hills, forget about it. I've climbed a few extremely tall hills and roadways with the mantis on duel motors and this thing crushes with ease. hilly areas are a breeze for mantis, NO PROBLEM.
The only thing I can really complain about is that I am personally experiencing some slight neck wobble that I can't seem to fix from tightening 8mm bolt or stem screws of any kind. I'm pretty sure it can be fixed at a bike shop with the right tools, but it's slightly annoying for me to deal with tbh. I wish this mechanism was just a bit more solid and the scooter would be close to perfect for the price point.
Again, thanks guys. Well done, great scooter! A+

“I purchased the PRO version and I must say this does not disappoint! Quite fun to ride and VERY FAST! Be warned this is no toy and operation should be taken VERY CAREFULLY until you really feel comfortable operating the Mantis. Fluid free ride staff has been very helpful with any issues I had!!!”
“I have wanted to buy an electric scooter for about two years now, but I could never find one that was fast, safe, long range, and still light enough to pick up and carry. I am glad I waited, this scooter has checked every box I was looking for.
I got my Mantis Pro about two weeks ago, and I absolutely love it! The performance is more than enough to keep up with city traffic, and I feel that's a safety consideration. The frame is very strong, and every thing feels solid, more like a motorcycle than a scooter. The suspension is excellent, along with the handling and brakes, I feel very confident zipping thru the city. Easy to lock up to a bike rack, and light enough to bring it up two flights of stairs to my apartment.
In short, this is the scooter I would have custom made if I had the skill-set/expertise. It is the best way to get around the city.”
