MANTIS PRO V2 - fluid Edition Mantis Pro V2 Reviews

4.8 Rating 131 Reviews
I got the PRO version of the Mantis, and I couldn't be happier. It has all of the speed and power that I was looking to get out of an electric scooter, without being completely overkill. I really like how bright the lights are, I've only had it out late once but it made a huge difference in making me visible. I had to reach out to support with a couple of questions and each time they got back to me in less than 24 hours. Will definitely try talking some more of my friends into getting electric scooters from here

I have the Mantis Pro, and I absolutely love it. I've been using it for my commute now for the last couple of weeks and I actually look forward to my commute solely because of thIs scooter! Before this I had the Wide Wheel and I was disappointed in the suspension and overall quality of it. I wanted to upgrade. The Mantis Pro is in a completely different league. Incredible handling, quality and overall performance - far beyond my expectations. My only criticism is that it should have a key lock to start up. Unless you like the scooter with a separate lock anybody can walk up and steal it. Even the wide wheel, which was half the price, had a key lock for starting up.

Hi there. I received the Mantis Pro Scooter a week ago and I must say it has been a great experience for me. Although, I noticed that one of the bolts in the rotor disc brake was loose, rubbing directly on the power cord and was making noise when I first rode the scooter, it was a very simple issue to resolve. I tightened all the bolts for safety. My favorite part of the scooter are the lights. They're very bright and great to use at night, I even got a compliment from a pedestrian. The scooter in general is extremely fast. At times when I try to use the 2 motors, I tend to immediately switch back to the one motor. For the time being I am only using one motor until I get accustomed to the combined speed of the 2nd motor. I am absolutely amazed at how the scooter rides over the bumpy streets in NYC due to the suspensions on both tires. The suspension springs are top notch! Also, the customer service I received when I needed assistance from FFR does not make me regret buying this scooter. They were very helpful and responsive to my inquiries. Overall, this is one of the best scooters I have ever purchased. It's definitely heavy duty and built like a tank. I absolutely recommend this scooter for anyone who is looking for speed, range, and durability.

I purchased the Mantis Pro because I wanted something with more power than my Dart. It was very easy to assemble right out of the box with the included tooling. The brakes and tire pressure were already at the proper tuning/pressure. I have been riding it for a week now and almost have around 50 miles on it. This scooter really packs a punch with the beefy dual 1000W motors! New riders should definitely set P7 (slow start) to a higher setting other than 0 because this thing can accelerate at a very impressive rate. The suspension makes the rough roads of NJ feel buttery smooth and the hydraulic disc brakes are very capable of stopping the scooter quickly, even at the top speed of 40 mph. The ride is very stable and there is no shaking in the stem like similar scooters that use this type of folding mechanism. The dual clamps keep the stem in place very sturdily. The brakes alone make the pro version worth the price over the base version, not even mentioning the upgraded throttle and battery. The only dislike I have about the scooter are the handlebar grips. However, they are easily replaced with something more to my taste. Overall, there are many great things about this scooter that are not available on other scooters in it's price range. I look forward to many more miles on this scooter!

'-Pro model 24.5Ah Really was hoping that for over 2 grand I was not going to get another Chinese scooter. But unfortunately that's what it seems like. Build quality is decent FOR a China product, but you can still tell. Power is definitely good. Brakes are super unpredictable to me. If you're going fast you have you hit them and then let off - hit them and let off. If you touch them the tiniest bit it wants to throw you forward and any less and they don't do anything at all. Lights underneath are cool, but if your battery is like 50% or less, they die out big time as soon as you hit the throttle - signs of China scooter. Battery percentage is not accurate. It can't fluctuate at least 20 percent from when you are on the throttle or not. That really annoys me. If you're any type of distance from where you need to be you better get back around 30-40%. Speedometer is in kilometers per hour and it's not EVEN CLOSE to accurate even IN kilometers. Says I can get the scooter to 99 kph and that's 61mph which we all know the scooter doesn't do. Not sure if there is a way to change to mph but it would need to be calibrated anyway. Overall the scooter is fun, but I'm really disappointed with many things about it that I feel I shouldn't be when buying a scooter that expensive. I wouldn't buy another one at that price. I hurt myself bad on a xaiomi m365 scooter because the neck snapped in half as I was riding it when I was going like 15 mph. Wasn't abusing it at all. That's a Chinese scooter too and I'm hesitant about this one because if the same thing happened to me on this one doing 40mph I would be hurt much worse or dead. 3/5 is a generously rating from me for this scooter.'

Nolan, maybe a little late but I can address some of your issues. Your display allows for advanced customization. Have a look here: https://youtu.be/K0z7RDvqHao That will take care of kph, speed inaccuracy and you can also reduce or turn off electric braking if you feel it hits too harsh at higher speeds. Shoot us an email if anything else...

Pre-ordered the Mantis Pro in August, received about a week ago. My first impression upon removing from the box was how solid and well-balanced the Mantis felt. Despite being over 20lb heavier than the Dualtron Spider, it actually feels comparably comfortable when carrying. The frame and drive-train are built to the same standard as the more expensive monster scooters and the electronic/auxiliary components (at least on the Pro) are largely the same as the $1000+ more expensive Dualtron 3. The power is insane on this thing, I had to dial it down to the slowest acceleration setting and it still beats most car traffic from a start. The 27A minimotors controller (again on the Pro only) and combined 3600W dual motors can easily get you up to 40+mph which feels surprisingly safe* due to the swing arm suspension, solid frame/steering post, and 10x2.5 CST tires (is 40mph really safe on a standup scooter? Probably not.*). The suspension is quite luxurious as compared to the harder rubber cartridge suspension I'm used to and I think most riders would prefer the softer ride of the Mantis. My only disclaimer is as an early adopter you do have to be willing and able to get your hands dirty and make some adjustments out of the box. Fortunately FFR has phenomenal customer service and has been nothing but helpful in answering all my questions as well as helping me to resolve a few issues - having received the first US production batch. Overall, no other scooter currently on the market beats the Mantis on value/specs and FFR has been second to none on customer service in my experience.

I just received my Mantis Pro on Mon Sept 23rd but was away for work when it arrived. When I returned home on the 26th, I immediately assembled the scooter which was very straight forward and easy. I watched the video on how to go through the settings and in no time I was flying around my neighborhood. The performance is fantastic and the hydraulic brakes really slow you down quick. It is stable at all speeds and the suspension does a great job of soaking up the bumps. I was researching scooters for 2 months before I purchased the Mantis Pro.....and I definitely made the right choice.

Took the Mantis Pro scooter for a spin today. Wow, the power is almost scary and for a newbie like myself there will be a steep learning curve to handle/manage this scooter properly. Thank god for the ability to change/adjust settings. I slowed down initial acceleration.... Handled bumpy sidewalks and potholes no problem. The speed control is very sensitive as are the brakes...... Best thing... I put some smiles on peoples faces while I was passing by....
