Using the highest quality materials and with a range of iconic and innovative styles, Le Chameau Maîtres Bottiers have been making our boots by hand for over 90 years. Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“I’m sorry to say that I find the bottom of the boot totally inappropriate for purpose. The tread is very poor and the overall boot plate too flat. I had expected better quality from a Company of your calibre.”

Hi Sheena, Thank you for taking the time to leave a reveiw, I am sorry to hear you didn't receive a boot you feel is up to the standards you expect from Le Chameau. The Iris is the lightest wellington boot in the Le Chameau rubber boot collection. As such this boot does feature our single density lightweight sole. We do have a variety of boots, all with different soles. This does mean not all boots are suitable for all uses. “These are lovely, light-weight boots which feel so comfortable to wear and walk in. I have been looking for a suitable pair of wellington boots to go on long dog walks in and these are just perfect. I hope they will last for a long time.”

“Delivery was fast. I am so pleased with the boots. I bought Hunters initially but decided they were too tight and needed a half size. I am so glad I switched, these are just so malleable and soft, vs the Hunters which are really rigid rubber, (gives me blisters just thinking about it!) Really lovely and soft, feels well made and durable. Wish there was a darker green, the green is quite bright, but overall very pleassed.”
