Programmable Thermostat, 2H/1C Heat Pump, 2H/2C Conventional, T6 Pro Reviews

4.5 Rating 62 Reviews
I have had 2 of these for over a year now. It did take a little bit to set up originally because I didn't have great wifi. I had too many things using a rural service. Once we upgraded our internet they work great. I have them set to tell me if they go offline. They remind me when to replace the filters. They also tell me if it gets too hot or cool, especially during the time when you need heat at night and air in the day.

We have a 40' Class A RV and we wanted to have this thermostat just like any other thermostat and not an RV one. For what I need it is simple PERFECT.

When my 91-year-old father-in-law's HVAC system was replaced, we requested a thermostat that we could control remotely via WiFi. The installers didn't connect it to WiFi, so I took it on. I have fairly broad experience connecting devices that offer remote control via a home's WiFi network but the T6 and its Resideo app were difficult, especially compared to an ecobee. However, once set up, it works great - all we want to do is be able to adjust the temperature and have it notify us when to change the filter.

I am an HVAC tech and company owner. I have had 2 of these in my home for several years. Initially had connectivity problems, but for the last several years, they have worked well. The Wi-Fi setup is a bit complicated, but Honeywell recommends professional installation. Overall, it's a great thermostat with good features for the price.

First of all, If you're trying to use your 5ghz connection to your wi-fi you can forget it, the thermostat can only join a 2.4ghz network. Lock your phone down to the 2.4ghz network for this install (reconnect automatically). The wi-fi installation of this device is NUANCED to put it mildly. The gyrations of connecting to the local wi-fi generated by the thermostat, then turning OFF your internet by going into airplane mode, then turning the internet back ON because the Honeywell Home app demands it is frustrating. At one point it said "connect to the thermostats network" and presented me with only the wireless network options, I was already connected so I hit BACK--well, there's no escape, I LITERALLY had to go in and REselect the Thermostat network for the app to realize it was connected. It was a lot of trial and error but eventually I got it connected to my 2.4ghz network, then managed to push forward to get it to register so it would have the weather, etc. I think 5ghz is common enough now that this is going to be a big issue w/people attempting to configure wi-fi themselves.
