“After 3 years, the thermostat suddenly stopped communicating with Wi-Fi. After troubleshooting, I found that USB 3.0 can interfere with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Downgrading the router’s USB to 2.0 solved the issue. Support was helpful, and the thermostat works well, but it lacks a 5 GHz Wi-Fi option, which would prevent this issue. Warranty on the Pro model requires contractor replacement, which can be costly.”
“When setting it up it is a little difficult but if you are patient it connects and works great! I love the code feature, it keeps my daughter from turning up the heat to 80!”
“I have had 3 of these in 2 homes for 5 years. After installation which was a little but not terrible work for me to do myself, they have worked well. I also have a Carrier Infinity remote thermostat which is more colorful and has more options - and I have thought repeatedly of replacing it with a T6 as the T6 works more intuitively both on the wall and via the app.”
“As a person with software quality background I can tell you the WI-FI setup section stumbles a lot during setup. In its defense, it is meant to be set up by a pro, which I consider myself. There are parameters that your average user would not have a clue about. Once you understand how it “thinks” it makes it easier to know what to adjust. I feel the learned “ramp” feature is amazing, but you have to understand what it is otherwise you may think your thermostat is possessed.”
“Not sure what everyone is crying about. I installed myself with the Honeywell THP9045A1023 wire saver into a 20-year-old furnace following YouTube and manufacturer instructions. Connectivity has been no issue and the app works well enough to monitor the house when we’re out of town. I’m curious about their home home security systems.”
