“So I bought a custom katana and I made everything the way I wanted it but the only think that I can complain about is that I played to have the sword be extra sharp and when I received the sword it was not sharp at all. The sword has an edge on about half of the blade the rest is just flat like someone took a file to it because it’s not sharp at all”

“The sword is incredibly well-balanced, and moving it around feels super natural. However, I did notice that it is incredibly tight in the scabbard, making it a bit difficult to use for iaido.”

“This is my first custom katana from Hanbon forge and I am nothing but impressed! They went out of their way to send me photos of the katana once it was finished before shipping it to me. It's tough to say, but I think this is ( according to my personal preference) the nicest sword in my collection to date. The balance feels really good compared to other katana I've swung around. The premium saya is smooth and quite when drawing and sheathing the blade. The leather tsuka wrap feels so nice in my hand. Has decent grippy feeling to it. I really enjoyed using their custom katana builder on the swordis website. Lots of options. Got exactly what I wanted and it didn't break my bank account. I have not had a chance to cut any tatami with it yet, but am excited to when I find some time. I've already ordered a custom tanto from hanbon to match with this katana but with a folded and clay tempered blade. Cant wait to get it so I can display the two pieces together.”
