“This was a perfect weekend getaway. Clean, private, quiet, and comfortable. There are plenty of things to do within a short drive, but you can also feel disconnected and relaxed.
The road getting into the camp site was a bit tight and twisty, but I managed to get a Porsche Boxster convertible up the trail at night with zero scrapes - just go slow!”
“We had a great time, especially my parents as this was their first camping experience. They enjoyed the natural surroundings and all the different trails (with maps included) provided by the camp keeper to hike in their property. The only suggestion we have is to update the trail markers since some of the marking on the tree are not as visible and some pathway with higher grass made it hard to find the trail.
Other than that the camp site was clean and well equipped as described. The camp keepers, Sue and George, were pleasant and accommodating. They were attentive in making sure our we have what we need and that we could find their place.
Similar to other reviews, make sure the vehicle you have can handle rocky road since the path up to the campsite is very bumpy and rocky.
We will definitely come back and want others know about this hidden gem.”

“Our stay here was peaceful and relaxing! Sue and George were warm, welcoming, helpful, and maintain their site excellently. The tent was in great condition: no holes or mildew, very clean, well aired. You wouldn't know there had ever been previous campers on the site! Very quiet and secluded, tucked in a large piece of land. If you don't want to hear or see the outside world, but also be near a variety of parks and things to do, this is your place! “Had an amazing stay at Whippoorwill Woods. The site was private and quiet except all of the birds singing. Our dog and baby both enjoyed the stay and hiking on Sue and George's beautiful property. Making it to the site on the dirt driveway was a little dicey in our Ford Focus, we just had to take it slow and drive cautiously. We didn't have to leave at all because Sue and George brought ice right to our campsite! I really appreciate that they clearly love their property and take great care of it. It's a great chance to be out in nature and we are hoping to go back at least once a year.”
