How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? I felt the area of mathematical thinking was the least well developed part of the kit. The mathematical content was too simple and didn’t provide opportunities to extend students mathematical thinking.

The students really enjoyed this kit - and continued to research weird and wonderful records long after the kit was completed.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Helped develop mathematical enquiry, solving word problems and working collaboratively to figure out distances and time etc

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Maths x PE, writing x Maths, PE x maths, we even discussed the science around the sand timers!
A great kit that encouraged lots of turn taking, collaboration, and team work. It fit in perfectly with our measurement for mathematics, our classroom community and our recollection writing.

Thank you for a fantastic resource! My students and I thoroughly enjoyed working through the activities together. The students had a lot of fun coming up with their own World Records, and then performing it. They particularly enjoyed challenging their classmates.

This was a great programme looking at fair testing and method for producing world records. The children were all engaged and loved coming up with their own unique record ideas.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? It was fantastic to see students using timers and measuring tapes, then graphing out scores without knowing that they were doing Maths.

Students began to challenge themselves to break records, to do this they showed motivation and determination along with resilience when the didn't meet their expectations. A great deal of collaboration and encouragement took place too. We continued to use

The world record kit was truly engaging for all students. I teach in a mixed class (Y3-6) and every student was involved and excited about taking part in the activity, then collecting recording and analysing data.

Great resource, very colourful and engaging and lined up with Maths curriculum perfectly. Students love the ideas and it also bought about a competitive edge.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Health, safety consideration, group work, planning, Maths, key competencies, exploration, research
It took my class a little while to get into the breaking records idea, but once they started, they had so much fun. We made excellent use of the field and the playground and the students came up with more and more ideas. Trying to break records became often a cooperative activity with students trying to build the highest or longest stanging human pyramid. I adjusted the resource slightly to suit my needs, but everything we needed was in the wonderful kit.
