Which kit components were the most impactful and why?
The hands on activities were the ones that the children loved the most. Blowing the balloon up without blowing in it, the recipe cards and the ingredients for baking. We had some big discussions around measuring and accuracy using the scales.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners?
Accurate measuring skills, an understanding that there is reasoning and accuracy behind ingredients and a knowledge of how to make food healthier.
How effective was this kit in promoting healthy food in your classroom?
The kit did a good job at this, however some students cakes were still not super successful even on the 2nd and 3rd bake and so they were less keen to keep baking using sugar alternatives than those who had greater success.
