Don’t open a credit card with Barclays. Worst customer service ever! Not able to get help from any of their services. Waited 3 separate times to be connected to someone on telephone banking, was put on hold for an hour each time. I went to one of their branches, apparently they dont deal with barclaycard queries in their branches. I finally got through to someone via telephone only for them to tell me that nothing can be done. Their app is absolutely rubbish to, their live chat services don’t work! What an absolute headache!

Absolutely shocking customer support service. Simply can't go through to talk to someone on the phone. Automated service asking the same questions twice. Spend an hour of my time and still didn't get any result.

Worst customer service ever; do not waste your time or give them business. They do NOT take care of their customers. Open credit somewhere else.

Worst credit card company I have ever dealt with. Not far off the worst company. I have emailed them 5 times now regarding the same issue and haven't had a single reply over more than 4 weeks. Completely inexcusable for a company this size. Will be closing the account as soon as the balance is paid off.

I think you would be better off to STAY AWAY FROM BARCLAYS!!! I had to start rebuilding my credit trustworthiness and score about nine years ago. A Barclays credit card was a good option and I appreciate that they approved me almost 6 years ago. The limit was $1,500. Over the years, the balance has been up to almost maximum at times, but usually less than $700 and recently very very low. My point is, that AFTER NO LATE PAYMENTS over a 71 MONTH period of time, BARCLAYS LOWERED MY CREDIT LIMIT! WTF?!?!??! It’s okay, I’m well established now and I DON’T NEED BARCLAYS anymore. I will pay off the $659 balance immediately and never do business with them again. It was a poor decision on Barclays part, for some people it could be a devastating blow to a credit profile. In my case, it’s a non-issue because I’ve worked hard to rebuild and now have more than plenty of available credit from more legitimate, mainstream higher quality creditors. I just feel bad for and want to warn other folks who could be negatively affected by getting involved with Barclays!!! BARCLAYS is a creditor to deal with ONLY IF YOU ARE DESPERATE, and need to USE THEM to rebuild your credit.

They have the worst customer service and especially during Covid flat out tell you they will not work with you on your payments or I lower my interest rate at least. Ms Jennifer said said you would have to receive an offer from barclay asking if uphd like to do that I requested an offer she said no I said of course eho would turn that offer down that’s why you don’t send offers out. led that is ridiculous the she said mam I am going to end this call I cannot help you. Well Jennifer both you and Barclay are horrible … my card will be paid and never deal with you again! Report to better business bureau

Absolute joke of customer service. Currently have Chase Sapphire, Citi AA Mastercard & Amex Green. Barclaycard does not even compare with the customer service of these other card services. Constantly transferring you to different departments with little to no documentation provided (comes in snail mail after 3 weeks) ---- stay away. Everything there is unfortunately off shored.

Had a balance on Barclaycard, cleared in a full payment. The next thing I know 3months later I received a letter stating they were closing my account after a review. Never missed one payment and in the end my account was in credit from a direct debit payment taken the same time as payment made in full. Absolute joke of a company!

Finally registered for online banking/barclaycard only to be told I couldn't use the service I required. Phoned & still couldn't access the service I required; was advised to phone & try again. It is a system completely inaccessible to people and as for the older generations, what will happen to them if they can't access their accounts? Not sure why I'm even writing this because nothing changes; beware the younger generation...it will get worse!!!!! On a better note, I finally got through to a human being, her name is Danielle & she was brilliant; as were the 2 other people I had to speak to before her. Bring back the human element...at least keep open the branches you still have, & open more if you dare to be different & better than the rest of the banks

Made a Section 75 claim on my Barclaycard Platinum Visa card some three weeks ago. Did not hear anything and could not get through on the phone - after multiple attempts manged to speak to someone on the Consumer Credit Card Team who could not find me on the system but suggested that my letter had been forwarded to another team that deals with Section 75 claims and which is currently working through a backlog dating from late December. I was told that I might have to wait twelve weeks for a reply! If this is the case then there is something seriously wrong with Barclaycard. Or are they going to blame it all on Covid?

You do not want this credit card. I had to use a credit card, due to cancer treatments and not being able to work and this company took me to court. The worst company to do business with and terrible customer service.

So I only got a Barclaycard 4 days ago and it is quite unbelievable how many times I phoned because they asked ,and yet total time either on hold or listening to music before they hung up got to over 8 hours,I was given wrong information regarding balance transfers, withdrawal, rates and promised call backs ?? I had the embarrassing situation of transaction declined yet money available,I had the lady on the phone saying she filed a complaint and would receive a call back today definitely yet that was 61/2 hours ago and just found out she actually lied No complaint filed,no call back and offered me a£50 gesture of goodwill to go away!!! While employees work from home,I understand but giving false or wrong information has consequences, and mine were very stressful and not happy ones Would I continue with them I doubt it at some stage All you want is good efficient, honest correct information not much more ,and don't get me wrong 90% are fantastic but clearly some are not interested in customer service

You cannot dispute a charge online they say to mail it in, Ha Ha, They say call, 20 min wait after an hour and a half I still have a tape telling me how important I am. I tried online fraud because Microsoft said the one charge on my card that says Microsoft is not them. So they say they will cancel my card over one charge. I never asked for it to be canceled. There is no way to communicate online or by phone. All AI Chatbots are useless for anything specific and they always send you to FAQs or articles which never fit your problem. This is the worst credit card service ever, anywhere.

Disputed a charge and they took the side of the airline even though I called in advance to cancel the flight. The airline gouged their prices during the pandemic and kept the money, even though I did call to cancel. Awful credit card -- they outsource their disputes department and the customer service is non-existent.

Just unbelievably useless and not very bright. It’s great in the modern world that truly no matter how dumb you are there is somebody willing to employ you, that company is Barclaycard. I disputed transaction back in November, and now despite not hearing from anyone in the complaints team repeatedly I find the answer I received to any question, is that somebody we will be with you in due course. Now additionally this also now prevents me from actioning anything on my account including setting up a direct debit and making any payments. In fact whilst I acknowledge this and despite my repeated attempts to actually deal with someone in relation to those very issues the only answer that I receive is your complaint it with the complaints team and somebody will be with you in due course. Subsequently you then get Late payment reminders charges and warnings because you’ve not made a payment on your account. Just how dumb is too dumb to in fact work at Barclaycard. Personally I don’t think there’s a cut-off point point. Truly I’ve never known such a idiotic ridiculous pathetic organisation. That’s at facility I’m led to believe is actually real people and not automated robotic assistance, which you may initially think it is given the absolute ignorant stupidity and dumb that you relentlessly find yourself having to deal with. The only way to communicate with these morons I believe is via crayons and even then I’d be seriously worried at the risk of them being eaten.
