“Barclaycard uses trickery in its practices! On top of that, though their scripted customer service response is very polite, they refuse to do anything to support or satisfy customer issues. I would not recommend their cards, but if you do decide to use their products, read through every tiny fine print and know if there is a timeline listed to receive benefits; the clock starts on the day you apply, not the day you activate the card. Just another huge company to doesn't care about its customers. They won't fight to keep you as a customer even if you are a good one.”

“So my account got suspended… They’re crooked as you can get. No grace period on payments. It takes 1-2 business days to process the payment, but they issue you a late fee the very next day after payment due date since it will always take 2 days to process anyway, so there’s an extra $29. Oh yea, they also don’t process on weekends, so if your due date falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, good luck with that one. You’ll need to make the payment no later than Thursday if they’re on the ball with processing. The rep tried to beat around the bush on this one. High interest rates, paired with no grace period? I’m not sure why people even tolerate them. I’m through with them. Good luck to you all. They’ll definitely make their money off you.”
“I tried to pay Barclaycard balance by phone today (using a landline). I had a problem and “the system” transferred me supposedly to someone who could help. He couldn’t help and transferred me to customer services. They couldn’t help either and transferred me to another department. By this time I had been hanging on the phone for over 20 mins. Eventually someone answered and when I said ‘hello, please can you help me pay the balance of a Barclaycard’ she cut the phone call off! Absolutely hopeless. I felt like I’d fallen down a black hole. Why is it so hard to pay an outstanding balance?”
“One of the worst worst worst service provider, they blocked my account for just one chargeback, that also when it was customer's mistake, barclays didn't give my business any support...to make things worst they held my funds for 6 months and also black listed my business on MATCH, this way it gets very difficult to apply for any other merchant....barclays literally killed my business for just one chargeback .....do not do business with barclays they are the worst in the industry...they will not only block your account, they will also hold your funds for 6 months and also black list you on match.....they don't even deserve one star ....Useless barclays”
“They botched a balance transfer. I called them 3x and also messaged 3x to alert them the info that was displaying on my account regarding the receiving bank was incorrect. They told me the info I saw on my account was not accurate?? And told me to just wait for the transfer to go through even though it showed as completed and I was changed the transfer money and fee.
I have wasted so much time trying to get this fixed. I finally have a 'case number' and was told it may take up to 90 days to review!!! Will be closing the account as soon as this is fixed (at this rate by Christmas??).”
“Yes so bad I got scamed after a purchase I made and asked the merchant for a refund that I wanted to return. It went on and and on do this so that . All I wanted was to return it . So I got in contact with barkleys and sent in all the proof got money back only to see it back on my bill I sent in more proof etc and long story short after months they sided with the scamers . How do I transfer to another American airlines credit card??”
“This is the worst credit card. I made an electronic payment (confirmed by my bank!), Barclays confirmed receiving the payment, yet the merchant was never paid! Hours and hours of phone calls and a complete run around. Now I have to pay the merchant (by check) and am out the money I paid to my credit card! Awful.”
“The app said 0 % for a year and the card started charging interest after 30 days. So I paid my balance in full and tried to close the account. Now they charge me 1.50 per month despot a zero balance. I have not been able to get that resolved, or get my account closed in four months despite their promises of escalation, and once they charged me $30 late fee on a $1.50 balance.

“Barclays Master card is terrible for the following reasons:
1. Their customer service is horrible. Calls get 'dropped' during crucial conversations'.
2. Their written communication updates make no sense, an is a bunch of jargon
3. Hold times when calling are long
4. Their Rewards program sent me a card that I could not activate for Walgreens in March 2023. It is now the end of June, and I do not have a resolution. The communication between Barclay's & Walgreens was not communicated to me. Today, when I called Barclay's agent, they referred me back to Walgreens. I have spent countless hours trying to obtain a resolution to this matter, but my Rewards account was never replenished for a useless card. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VENDOR!!!!!”
“So I'm seeing it is a trend for Barclay to reduce credit limits for no reason. They cut my limit by almost 50% for no reason. I have 100% payment history on my credit while managing over 15 accounts and make 6 figures a year. Then, when you call to cancel they don't even bother to put a human on! Remember when you used to call to cancel a credit card and they basically tried to give you their first born just to keep their card? Well...not Barclay. They don't even care enough to put a human on. It's just automated. I'll give my business to my other card servicers who actually still value their customers.”

“terrible customer service, they seem clueless and i have called numerous times because i have not received my card…after 4 times requesting a new card…they hang up on you if they don’t want to deal with the issue….then i called fraud and they put me on hold them hung up. a week later i tried chat online and they said i never ordered a card….to call and order one. then they said i used profanity cause i said,“what the ‘heck’ is really going on here??”. they have no problem charging me the $99 annual fee which apparently just posted, yet no card still..”
“Don't sign up for this card, no matter what offer they have to loop you in. I signed up in 2014. Customer service has never once did anything remotely helpful. I used the card, always paying balance in full, for 8 years before finally getting sick of how bad the benefits are compared to other travel cards these days.
Here's the thing: they won't let you switch down to the free card tier (something very common for every other credit card company) and won't waive the annual fee, so now I either tank my credit by cancelling or just light my annual fee on fire every year. Customer service is so so frustrating.
Save yourself the hassle and ignore any Barclays card.”

“Do NOT get this card. Absolutely the worst customer service. I began a balance transfer in April, they ended up sending it to a wrong account. I have been dealing with their nonsense and nothing has been resolved. I have multiple “claims” that have been sent to the research team. I would recommend ANY other card except Barclay. Save yourself the headache!”
