I had a reservation of a rental car in HolidayCars.com in beginning of year 2000. Since the COVID-19, My flight was cancelled, so there is no way to pick up the rental car at the place I reserved. And I had to cancelled the rental car in HolidayCars without my will. Then they are supposed to refund but instead of that they kept the money as credit. I asked to refund right away by email, since I had no idea when I can use such credit next time and even asked what if your company is bankrupt. However They never reply at all. I tried to use this year the credit somehow forcing my situation and I made reservation there. I checked by email if my credit was used for this time, but they never replied to me. I even called the company and left my phone number, but still didn’t call me back at all. I tried to call again and again and could finally ask my credit but they didn’t clearly explained at first but when I really accused, they finally transferred the phone to the section which can explain about my credit. They finally said the company was bankrupt in 2021, they didn’t event notice about bankruptcy at all that time. And they said they cannot refund me at all since different company took over HolidayCars now. No matter what the situation was, they shouldn’t use the customer’s credit at any reason. It doesn’t matter their bankruptcy for customers that is only the issue of HolidayCars and BookingMonkey. Even though It isn’t my fault why they t could take money from me. They are imposter or thief. Very unreliable company and thief. I will never use this company and Swiss company. Big liars.

This company is completely unreachable. I needed to make a slight change to a reservation for covid reasons and the car rental company was ok with it but I was obligated to cancel the reservation because it was impossible reach them !! They just never answer. After many days calling and waiting on the line without any answer I finally got an answer by email saying they didn't care and they'd just keep my money. Too bad 1 star it's the lowest i can give them cause I'd gladly give less.

I rented a car with insurance and refund on this website on 29 April. When I arrive in Lisbon on May 9 to take the car to the airport, I go to the Hertz stand and they tell me they cannot find my booking in the computer system. After 3 hours, they find the reservation and when it's time to use my bank card, the machine doesn't accept. So I end up giving up. When I get back to Paris I contact the company to get a refund, because I didn't get the car. The first time they reply to my email and ask for proof of the rental car and the plane ticket. I then send all the documents and they never reply to my emails. This company is a farce, a hoax, a fraud. Never rent a car from this company because you will have problems. I have insurance on my bank card so I got my money back but I will never rent a car from this fraudulent company again.

Shocking. Had to pay double the damage waiver as the third party company did not honour holidaycars waiver insurance. Do not trust this company.

Unable to use my 350.00 credit some bs about covid. I had a car booked for november 2019 and had to cancel due to covid. They would not give me my cash back but offered a credit. I have not been able to use this credit nor will they give it back. I would not do business with them.

Not to be trusted! I booked a car rental in Spain through Holiday Cars. The I arrived with my family and young children we were told that the petrol car we chose was NOT available and they said "no problem" we'll give you a Diesel instead. They asked for our credit card for the deposit and only AFTER authorization we noticed 2x as many charges including an expensive "diesel upgrade charge". We complained, did not get a full refund and had Eur 280+ in expenses for late night travel by train and taxi. Holiday Cars would not refund and said this was due to GoldCar as a partner. Don't use Holiday Cars, very poor customer service!

Broker for bad hire car companies. Contacted to change the company faircar in iceland as they have bad and dangerous reviews. Refused to change the booking or to offer refund. This broker offers poor quality car hire companies, have had to loose money and go elsewhere

Unbelievable. No Show of any Car, driver, or contact person at Athens airport. Telephone contact numbers in Athens are fake. Now for 90 € refund I have to sue them.

Шахрайство! Забронювали через сайт holidaycars.com авто в Познані, Польща. Гроші зняли не як частину бронювання, а повністю за всі дні з нашої карти. В результаті авто відмовили надати. Пояснили, що не надають авто тим, у кого права не ЄС. Що наші права українські їм не підходять, хоча це пластикові з англійською версією написання, які приймають в усіх країнах без проблем. На їх сайті жодної інформації про дані обмеження не вказано. Авто не видали, гроші не повернули!

They Deserve ZERO Stars. On 1-28-20, we reserved a full-size Susuki Grand Vitara for 10 days in Iceland in June, 2020 for $856.19 through Holiday Cars with Green Motion as the auto provider. Covid forced cancellation, but Holiday Cars refused to issue a refund, and gave us a voucher only. On 4-24-21, when we knew we'd be able to travel to Iceland by June, we made a reservation for the same car, same lease time and place, but Holiday Cars switched us to the provider FairCar for an Intermediate (regular Vitara) and charged us $1059.63. They kept our cash for ONE YEAR and then charged us more for a smaller vehicle. We tried multiple times to modify the reservation to get a less expensive vehicle, which their website said WERE available, but Holiday Cars told us that there were none available. When we arrived at the pickup spot in Reykjavik, they offered a car with 217,000 kilometers on the odometer. We asked for a different vehicle, and were given a Suzuki Vitara with 180,000 kilometers on it. We prayed every day that it wouldn't die on us as we drove the Ring Road around Iceland. Had we known ahead of time how appalling their customer service and professionalism are, and their devious bait-and-switch methods, we would NEVER have rented a vehicle from them. Be smarter than we were. Rent from a legitimate car rental agency instead.

This is an awful company. DO NOT USE. Holiday cars are basically an agency or broker enabling you to hire a car with several companies. Sounds good right? They advertise ‘free amendments’ – amazing. Except, that is not what happens… In order to amend your booking, you must cancel your previous one, then make a new booking. Ok, sounds fair enough, except you must pay for the new booking, and wait 21 days for a refund for your first booking. During Covid19 my flights were changed 3 times by the airplane operator, which meant three bookings through Holiday cars, totalling just over £900 (for 1 week car hire), eventually when I complained I was able to get a refund on the two ‘amended’ bookings. However, when I was finally stumped by quarantine restrictions and unable to travel, I was hit with a 25% administration fee for cancelling the car hire. £90 to Holiday Cars. More fool me for using this company. I hope you read this review and use any other company by Holiday Cars. Terrible experience, terrible customer service, terrible communication. Please don’t use this company, for your own sake.

Hi. İ had a nightmare holiday because of them. I rented a car and paid the amount before I went on holiday. On the pick up day they wanted me to pay surcharge which was over £250 and also other charges. I didn't have enough money on the card. Obviously I offered them cash because I was late to my meeting but they still didn't accept it. That was ridiculous experience. DON'T USE THEM AT ALL.....

Be aware that not all the charges are obvious. I was given an invoice on picking up the car with the price I was expecting to pay. My credit card charge was over £50 more as 22% VAT was included as a local charge. I was never given a final invoice (although HolidayCars stated that I could request one later). Their website states that taxes and fees are included, but the countries VAT (which apparently varies in Italy) is counted as a local charge.

They immediately cancelled my reservation because they were "unable to confirm with the supplier". So far, not awful but not impressed either. 3 days later, they charged my card for the full amount AFTER cancelling. 17 days down the road and I still don't have the refund they promised in 5-8 days. This is at best inexcusably sloppy and at worst a complete scam.

Booked a car and paid a deposit giving my correct age 81.No car at Bristol as cut off age was 80 .No refund of deposit .Reply to emergency No.in Dutch.I do not recommend this company

Holiday Cars are happy to take money, but not happy to make a reservation with a car rental company in the place you choose. Or respond to any emails when trying to rectify their mistake!

My experience is recent and very negative. I have reserved the car and also prepaid the recommended insurance and cancellation warranty. As I Olbia Airport, the rental company denied having to do with Holidayscars, saying they are just an outsider and there are no obbligations, that the purchased insurance was only a warranty for the deposit of additional € 1.200. In all I needed 1.670€ available on my credit card. The scarry side is that this deposit will warrant any kind of damage to the car. Besides, the contract called flex, foreseen the full fuel prepaid, which by the way is further surcharged with operational expenses and VAT, resulting into 3 times as much the actual cost of a full tank. The rental company required either the deposit above or to buy a new insurance. All in all it cost me 820€ for 2 weeks - outrageous. But most outrageous was the juggle and the scorn, not least the pressure of the rental company. Never ever will address Holidayscars. The terms & conditions are no way out to claim your money back.
