“Simple - scammers, send phone, reduce offer by 90%, charge you £11 to get your phone back, sign you up to DD with MacAfee for £5 a month with the bank details you gave them. Avoid avoid avoid.”
“Scammed by we buy any phone
Sent them a iPhone 13 in good conditions was then offered 70 pounds in stead of the agreed 200 they then gave me a new offer of 100
I’m quite confident they damaged the screen as I took pictures with my wife’s phone before I sent it when I compared the marks on the screen the pictures did not add up
It then became my word against there’s avoid this company”
“Offered £140 for a 2 year iphone11 that had lived its life in a case. Offered £60 as the glass screen had wear. Absolute con, visually the phone was like new”
“I googled companies that buy phones and these came up. I got a great price quoted to me, so promptly sent my phone. When they get it, they drop the price from £271 to £185, which is absolutely disgusting. The phone had such minor scratches you could barely see them unless you shined a bright light (even then barely could see) and it was in excellent condition. You can't decline the offer online, so you have to spend ages ringing them.
The person on the phone is rude and couldn't care less, ups the offer by £10 wow. Makes it difficult for me to get my phone back. Says the money will be paid the next day (it wasn't).
Looking at other reviews its clear the deliberately overquote then massively drop it when they get it, which is what con artists do.
Never again will i use this scam of a company and I am attempted to report to Trading Standards as they are very shady.”
“So they offered £180 for my I phone 12 pro.
In good condition etc…
Later I received a message of the amended price:£90
What!!?😂
They sent a link with a video, all I could see someone, anyone, who knows… holding my phone in his hand under light.
That supposed to be the proof, my phone isn’t in good condition.😂🤣
Anyway:
DO NOT SEND YOUR PHONE TO THEM!
PLEASE AVOID THEM AT ANY COST!
And I had to pay £10.75 to get my phone back.”
“I sent my blue iPhone 13 pro max to them, they then sent a offer for a phone that wasn't even mine, a sliver iPhone 12 pro max. They then told me I had to prove this wasn't my phone, I gave them my IMEI number and was told they had not received my phone as it wasn't on their system. I then provided proof of delivery, as I sent it special delivery, this showed a picture of the phone being delivered and the person signing for it. They then said they would need to look in to this. a few hours later they had found it and came back with a low ball offer for the phone (from £425 to £310) the phone was clearly worth more than this. But as other people have said, the phone comes back in a worse condition that when sent, I reluctantly accepted. All the above stress and aggravation, only to get a low offer and no offer of compensation for all the trouble caused. all of which was their fault!!!”
“My phone was stolen by a child
The child admitted but he had sent it to buy any phone they had sent him 480 for my iPhone 14pro max
We contacted company sent them my payment I had made on ebay for phone sent all details of serial numbers on my box everything
They agreed it was mine tbey got the child return the money which they recieved. They said it would be sent back
They then sent email tbey won't return and they have kept money
I am now having to get police to get the company for fraud ing me
I been through he'll at 70 yrs old having phone stolen and now they doing the same
Never ever use ynat company
They don't ask children for ID that sell phones to them
So easy for kids to steal phones not a good company needs investigating
Don't use they theives themselves”
“I’m contacting trading standards and the ombudsman for advice.
Under UK Consumer Rights this company is in breach of them.
They originally give you 7 days to accept or decline their offer.
When you decline which requires contacting them directly (although it’s nearly impossible to find their contact details), they come back with a higher figure.
When you decline this offer, they give you 5 days to accept.
If you don’t accept and cannot get hold of them despite several attempts to say I don’t accept and please return my property; they simply will keep your phone under the assumption they’ve not heard from you - hummmm!
Wow!
This is wrong!
Think about GDPR - the website clearly states you need to tick the box to receive communication.
If you do not tick the box then you don’t receive communication - simply it puts the customer in control.
This company’s website is purposefully the opposite - no action means acceptance and let’s not forgot we are already talking about something that is yours in the first place! It is not right and it needs urgent attention!
They are not providing adequate means of communication and by doing this are actively disregarding the customer and the customers property for their own gain. This is not putting the customer in control of the outcome and this simple wrong.
There communication is unacceptable!
I am unsure how they are still operating as a business.
This is a company trading standards must review -I have already logged in with them.
You should not have such problems having your own property returned to you! It is disgusting!
You should not be pressurised or scammed into accepting lower offers because of poor communication and poorly worded websites and policies.
You should have your consumer rights protected.
This company does not respect your customer rights and offers a very poor customer service.”
“I would like to warn people about this company. Not only did their offer significantly reduce upon receipt of my phone, I asked for the phone to be returned and got a much better offer elsewhere. What’s more alarming is that they signed me up to a McAfee trial, something I did unknowingly when registering and for which I have been paying £4.95 for the last four months. I’ve cancelled this direct debit with my bank now but please be weary about this company.”
“SCAMMERS - AVOID THIS COMPANY
Reduced offer from £191 to £30 and then charged me £10 to send the phone back to me. Unfortunately I cannot leave zero stars on here. Bunch of crooks. Avoid at all costs.”
“Awful company. Perfect phone, already quoted £119 by high street company but we buy any phone said they’d give me £141 so sent to them. Then came back to say only worth £10. Avoid!”
“Scam company. I got a trade in value in Apple Store for a much higher valuation. Since this company offered £320 I decided to sell phone. When they received it they offered £100 with issues that glue is come off and bezel not working.. phone is in great condition. Asked to return the phone and they asked me to pay for returns. They get something off you either way. Never had this with any other company. Avoid at all costs.”
“This Company is. Scam/Fraud even if there is nothing wrong with your phone they will find a fault and drastically reduce their offer. They are a fraud I am reporting them to the authorities who will close them down.”
“Absolute scammers.
Sent a ludicrous offer for my phone, then have the gall to want to charge me £10.75 to get my phone returned.
A V O I D
EDIT The only reason you are asking for info is hoping people won't supply it so the review gets taken down
UPDATE - I GOT £90 MORE FROM ENVIRONPHONE.
Your company should be ashamed of itself. Your are crooks.
I will strive to make sure nobody uses your scam of a company again
Shameful”
“Sent in a brand new iPhone 14 Pro Max from my insurance still in the box and completely untouched. They offered £560 for the phone and then when they received it they said it needed ‘urgent action’ and said there were visible scratches on the screen and outer casing which there wasn’t. I even have before photos. They reduced my offer to £460 which I accepted because I couldn’t be bothered with having the phone returned to me with scratches that weren't on it originally. SCAMMERS AVOID AT ALL COSts”
