This company is an absolute disgrace. Took a policy out for my daughter who is a learner driver. The premium came in low. I called today to say my daughter passed her test and was told that due to her passing her test within 40 days of taking out the policy, they had to talk with an underwriter to get it renewed. On getting the authority to renew I was told the premium goes from £360 to well over £2000. When I took the policy out after speaking to a member of staff I was not made aware of this. I have now gone and cancelled the policy and was told that as this is after the 14 days I would be charged £50 admin fee, their commission, no refund for the excess cover and legal cover plus other premium charges. In total, out of the £360 I paid for the 12 months cover I will be getting just over £100 back in refund for 15 days cover. Be very aware of this company and how they deceive you. I am now reporting them to the Insurance Ombudsman. Wish I could give a no start rating.

My stepdaughter cancelled insurance because she passed her test and was slapped with a ridiculous cancellation payment plus 75pound admin fees, will never use again and hope other people don't get charged ridiculous amounts

Just slapped me with a £223 premium… Just slapped me with a £223 premium plus charges becuase the date of purchase of my vehicle I put in wrong. Honest mistake. Im unsure how this would even change anything. I can understand if you gave the incorrect NCB or address etc. The only reason why they have above average reviews is because they entice you with a free shop voucher so naturally you would put in a good review. Stay away from them.

After using this insurance because it covered everything I needed for a cheaper price, All the documents they needed I've never had to send to any other insurance company! I was having trouble getting my no claims certificate from my previous insurance, I explained to them everything that was going on, and they cancelled my insurance and are now charging me £170 for cancellations, when they cancelled it! I'm now getting debt letters and solicitor letters because I dont believe I'm the one that should have to cough this money up! At 25 years of age. This is disgusting behaviour! I would still be using these, if they had better communication skills and wasn't so quick to just cancel insurances as I've seen multiple reviews of them doing the same now! Should be ashamed of the customer service level you are providing!

I originally took out an insurance policy with A choice because they were significantly cheaper than other quotes I had received. However, their appalling customer service and aggressive letters mean I have regretted this decision almost immediately. They charged my card twice for the deposit amount, and I had to phone twice to get this over charged amount refunded, each time sitting on hold for 20-30 minutes. Despite sending the required documents (driving licence check) well within the allotted time frame, A choice canceled my insurance, which I only discovered by chance while clearing out my spam box, which means my car had been uninsured for some days. When I rang to query this, they told me I should have received a letter informing me of this - I did, two weeks later, 3 weeks after they had cancelled the policy. I was also informed I would be charged a £70 admin fee, despite the fact they canceled the policy not me, without warning. I challenged this verbally and in writing twice. Neither letter has been acknowledge, but I have received three further threatening letters from the company. Each time I have phoned A Choice I have been kept on hold for 20-30 minutes, only to then be spoken to in a rude and very unprofessional manner. I wish I had read some of the other reviews on this page about this terrible company before taking out the policy, as it is very clear I am not the only one to have experienced these exact issues, and I could have avoided what has turned out to be a stressful and costly mistake. Overall a terrible service, and company, avoid at all costs.

Absolutely awful insurance company! Sent all the relevant documents over like I was told to (rang them up) and got an email back saying they’d received them and all was good. 3 weeks later I get told my insurance is cancelled and there’s nothing they can do. When I rang before the lady told me how to send everything so I did and when I ring again I get accused of lying and that’s not what one lady said. Never have I had to send over so many documents and fill in so many different form for an insurance company in 30 years. Will be advising everyone to stay away.

Absolutely horrendous insurance company I would AVOID at all costs! Made a slight mistake with my details on compare the market, sent them numerous documents that they requested and it got cancelled regardless. Took my £200 deposit, then added a further £100 in cancellation fees and my car was only insured for a total of 3 weeks. Customer service is a joke and the entire company scams people maliciously.

Wouldn’t even give one star. Wanted to change my car over from a 1.8 to a 1.6 and they tell me they won’t insure it because of the type of car when it’s the same car and then told me that they found me another underwriter but want to charge me over double in price for it! I have 2 months left on my insurance and I told them that I won’t be renewing with them again.

Absolutely disgusted with this company, they have requested further documents which i sent across to them ( driving license summaries) i received an email saying " great we have received everything we need, we can carry on your policy with no changes". 3 Days later they send me an email saying my policy is going to be cancelled in 7 days as i have failed to provide proof of occupation! I ring up straight away as im so confused, took me 40 minutes to speak to one person and her answer to why it was being cancelled is that she is not sure! She told me that she can see no one has tried to contact me to ask for these details and she doesnt know why theyre cancelling it but its too late to do anything unless i provide my proof of occupation within the next 7 days, so i sent a bank slip which was rejected. I explained that i can not just get my contract straight away as i have to send of an email and wait for it to be checked and sent back, they told me unless we do not receive in the next 7 days then the policy will be cancelled. I was so shocked as they have never requested this document and that the documents they did request i sent across straight away. I went on to speak with a manager and he told me that hes going to look further into the matter and call me back later on in that day, 4 days later and i have still not received any call back, this company is an absolute joke! Do not ever use them!

Terrible customer service. Was on hold for 35+ minutes for my call only to be answered “conveniently” 1 minute before their lines closed, and to be told they were now closing.

After sitting on the phone for 20mins I finally get an answer of we're experiencing a high volume of calls at the moment so we shall call you back as soon as. 1hr 45mins later I call back. 16mins later get put through to the cancellation team to get a figure and wow!!! If I knew then what I do know I would have avoided like the plague! £786 to cancel! Are they having a ruddy laugh... literally all the way to the bank. STAY AWAY!!! It's better to pay more elsewhere pm than to deal with a huge cancellation fee
