“Subject: Crofton Food Processor – Serious Design / Usability Issue
I recently purchased the Crofton food processor sold at ALDI and encountered a significant product design issue.
The lid and bowl were extremely difficult to separate after first use. Even after soaking the unit in hot water and applying considerable torque, the components would not disengage without excessive force.
From a design perspective, this appears to be a classic stacked-tolerance or interference-fit issue between mating plastic components. The result is a product that is extremely difficult for an average user to open safely.
Given that basic usability testing should identify this condition immediately, it raises concerns about the product’s design validation and DFMEA process prior to release.
For context, I spent 40 years in automotive manufacturing in Detroit working in quality management, where usability, tolerance stack-up, and Six Sigma design controls are taken very seriously. A consumer product should not require this level of force to perform a basic function.
I recommend that Crofton’s engineering team review the lid/bowl interface design and conduct proper usability validation testing.
This is otherwise a good concept, but the current execution creates unnecessary frustration for customers.”
“I like aldi in Lancaster county sc but today was the worst experience of my life just say if a cashier yell at me I will not never come back....like we was 2nd in line I didn't even look at the person in front of me and I put 2 pk of pork chops on the belt and she literally screams at me telling me to get that off of it and I look over at the girl cart full of items like I didn't even know and she was scanning 1 by 1 and putting in back in her cart
Long story short they need self checkout here I hate being in line where cashier get to talk well scream at u”
“I have liked shoppng at Aldis the prices are good, the quantities are smaller which I like and some products have been successful. What I won't purchase again : the fresh meat Thin Sliced Sirloin -the top slice looked nice but none of it was edible could not even chew through the grisle had to throw it out. The pre packaged Beef tips with mushroom sauce looked nothing like the picture it had no mushrooms no even one slice just a weird sauce and half of the beef could not be chewed too expensive for me to try again. Cream cheese blocks not past the best buy date but had mold. The refrigerated crepes not past the due date but had mold. I don't know what is going on this year I have shopped at this store for a long time and this has all been in the last 3 months.”
“This place is ran by people who don't want to be there, let alone hear legitimate complaints or concerns about their food being mildew or inedible due to food sitting past expiration dates. I was asked recently if I was recording in their store after bringing them a couple of packages of strawberries filled with mildew. I told them no & they wanted to look at my phone I told them no way. Then they said I would have to leave and not come back. I said fine & walked across the street to the state police & spoke to a trooper & asked him to look at my phone & verify there was no recordings what so ever. This was the manager of the store who never smiles and comes off as totally unprofessional and not very cordial but angry.”
“But expensive ribeye two steak package very disappointing was only able to eat about 25% of it has the rest of it was not edible. This cut looks like it was one you would get off a truck in a parking lot. 75% fat chewing it forever to get something out of it. Terrible do not buy. The picture I tried to upload would not allow of all the pieces of fat that I chewed.”
“Sorry this not about food items. This review is concerning the hiring process. However i have done 3 different interviews at 3 different stores, and have not got picked for neither. At this point im feeling as if im being profiled. At this is at all locations in Phenix city, Al and Columbus,Ga. I mean is it a sercret COLT or something. I know 4 others ppl that feel the same way profiled. And all those stores only have 1 black person working at each of them. Something is not adding up.”
“For the first time my husband and I bought our groceries in one of our location.
The next for breakfast I made a fresh fruits salad, all of the fruits were horrible I had to throw them away they weren't tasty and sweet.
Going forward we'll stick with what we know. Aldi is a waste of money and time..”
“Aldi on Pontiac Ave, Cranston. On Jan 3, 2026, I was shopping and could not reach an item on the top shelf of the cheeses. I could not see the feta cheese items in the box way above my head, so I pulled the box down. Several of the soft wrapped cheeses fell on my head. However, there was a heavy plastic feta box that hit my head, opened up on my coat, clothes, and new leather boots - the feta cheese juice ruined my things. I complained to the general manager at the Aldi on Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island. He told me it has happened before with other customers and he has complained to upper management; however, no one above him would make a change so that cheese with juice would not fall on the Aldi customers. I find this appalling, and in addition to this complaint, I will make online complaints for this store location. In addition, when this happened unexpectedly to me, I was dressed to go out and had to go home and change and launder my clothes. I ended up being late to my engagement, which made me mad. I also had to go and buy leather cleaner as my boots smelled like feta cheese. And I took my coat to the cleaners. I expect compensation for this from ALDI. And the next time I am in the store, if I see items on the upper shelf that cannot be seen because the are in boxes, I will complain again. This is inexcusable! You have had multiple complaints!!!!”
“Very Rude employee with a client .. he is a cashier ... on Saturday 7 in the afternoon. Very disgustin situation, he was very aggressive with the client.”
“Visited the local Aldi three times now and each time looking for a specific item. Bell Peppers, Bananas, and Pizza Dough. They don't stock those items. Should be called Half Ass Store

“I have created multiple accounts to order groceries and none of the accounts are working. I am so frustrated I don't even care to order anything now. It keeps giving me errors and I made two accounts under two different emails, and the same thing keeps happing. Blahh over it.”
“me and my wife have used aldi curbside pick up 20 or 30 times and every.. single.. time.. they cancelled our order and got nasty with us when we questioned why. they have been so rude every single time for no reason at all and cancelled our pick up every single time. we tried to order the pick up order at multiple locations in our area and have been met by the same result. they are always way understaffed and the staff is over worked and it causes them to all be very rude and hateful at every locatiom we visited. we have tried to get ahold of corporate to complain and have found no way to contact anyone either. the entire thing is insane. the lines in the store are always crazy too due to lack of staff. their prices are low because they underpay their staff and keep their stores understaffed. its a sweatshop atmosphere with little in the way of proper service. everyone we know who tried to use their curbside pickup had their orders cancelled as well. i do not recommend their services or stores. it has been nothing but issues. when they cancel your order it takes days to get your refund. it has held us up from getting groceries for us and our kids on numerous occasions. and as i said on top of it we were polite in asking why this happened and were met with rudeness and were told to order our food somewhere else. i couldnt believe it. they even got nasty with my teenage daughter when she went to pick up our order. they got nasty with a teenage child. this is aldis”
“I had a very unpleasant experience at the Aldi in Silver Spring, MD 20904 because of the cashier named John. He had no patience with customers and made me feel rushed and uncomfortable while checking out.
Customer service is extremely important, and unfortunately his attitude was very poor. If someone does not enjoy working with people, they should not be in a cashier position. A job dealing with customers requires patience, kindness, and professionalism, and that was completely missing during my visit.”
“Every time you go to all these the radar product or they change it to another product and raise the price. Just like ground up chicken was Purdue, and now it is Tyson's and raise a 30 cents sorry I'm all done shopping at Aldi”
“You need a better queuing system for self checkout. Customers are lining up down shopping aisles and other customers can't get through. I got disgusted and left. Your prices are good, but not good enough to endure the unpleasantness of a poorly organized store.”
