“This heater does not switch off fully when the switch is turned to zero.
Hamiltons say it is a safety measure so gas bottle is turned off.
Nowhere in any paper work does it explain this (new safety measure).
I even looked at several other sellers and none described the heater did not switch off fully. So in my opinion item is not as described. I asked for a replacement but was told there would be no point as the replacement would switch off the same. I can not confirm this due to not receiving a replacement and no written description.”

I can see from our records that you were dealing with our Customer Service Team who confirmed that that as per new gas laws all the portable gas heaters that we sell have to be switched of at the bottle to turn them off completely.

“Given the crisis in the gas supply market, I thought it prudent to purchase a portable gas heater for winter this year. All portable gas fires are ugly so I wanted a flame effect model and the one I ordered is about as good as they get. In other words, it doesn't look like an eye saw in the corner of our room. It's an A-rated appliance that uses a 15kg gas bottle. Getting hold of gas for it wasn't easy which I hadn't anticipated and I maybe should have thought of this before buying it. The delivery of Calor gas is slow at best I was told by one supplier. Anyway, thankfully I got a bottle so we should be OK this winter. By the way, it was cheaper to buy the fire direct from Calor than it was to go to a local supplier.”
