“Don't buy from Arnold Clark my sons car lying in ford Strathaven already bought part himself 200 pounds, warranty don't cover still not starting they want another 65 pounds, to check it wife has cancer 4 wee kids still lying there no car for hospital please don't go here”
“Do NOT buy a vehicle from Arnold Clark - keep one word in mind: AVOID.
Why? Because their after-sales service is shocking.
I purchased a new van from them after which it has taken me ages to conclude an enquiry about a service record booklet.
Their Blackpool branch did not return any messages for THREE MONTHS asking for the same - that is until last week when I finally got through and was informed that a new service booklet would cost twenty quid (after me paying £9k for a new van!)
I followed this up today and was further told that that this booklet was now £45.
A later call to another AC department in Blackpool now gave a different price of £35.
By now you’d get the picture same as I did that you’re dealing with a bunch of scammers instead of a self-professed reputable company.
I declined to pay either outrageous prices - the service record is a necessary document - what’s so expensive about providing one?
Moreover - what’s so difficult about returning a phone call?”
“Don't get a car from here my son just bought 5 months ago Ford c max the fuel sensor has just went and they won't cover it by warranty big suprise his partner just been diagnosed with cancer 4 little children and no car for hospital and they have the cheeck to charge him 65 pounds too fir checking it he's having to buy the part himself and go fix it shocking to say least don't go near them”
“So, bought a used BMW. Due to Covid it was click and collect. Came bumped so the dealership fixed this. Appears they employed Stevie wonder to the do the paintwork which was covered in over spray, bubbly and had brush marks on it. The nearside tyre looked to have been chewed on by Jaws, they offered to replace the Bridgestone with a budget. So that would be three different tyres on the car, promised a tank of fuel, it was on empty. No service history avaliable when told there was. Car salesman wasn't even there on collection and took annual leave. Out of pocket on insurance admin and deposit awaiting back.
Very poor service. Manager sorted out the financial stuff at this moment but will never go back. AVOID THIS COMPANY.
Tried getting me to hand over 16k for a bodged motor”
“Arnold Clark Toyota bishopbriggs had some recall issues on Toyota pro ace got it booked in for 3 months down the line I requested a courtesy car as I live quite far from bishopbriggs and I have 2 children with disabilities so I need most things to run quite smoothly I emptied my van and rearranged work for the van to be in for 2 day at 4:30 the day before I got a call to say no courtesy car leaving me no time to make arrangements the staff were very rude to me including one gavin Riley offered no help whatsoever even when I originally made the booking I had no confermation email when I called back a week later it wasn’t even booked I would not trust this particular garage to change a wheel nut I’ve now had to arrange a different Toyota dealership to carry out the work which won’t be carried out until February 2021 thanks bishopbriggs”
“Never go back.. took out the 2 years MOT and service package, as I have had a kidney transplant and didn’t want the hassle of shopping around. I was informed they had to investigate an oil leak, 120.00 per hour and could take several hours..... I didn’t believe them so I went to 3 other garages for them to check, and you’ve guessed it..... no oil leak. Feel very let down. Manager I spoke to was very rude and said they had done nothing wrong. Even accused me of blackmail, when I said I would leave a bad review. Lost money now because I won’t be going back for the MOT and service next year that I have already paid for.”
“I was bought a car in Wilshaw Arnold clark one year ago, after 1 day I bought the car traction light came up. I called Arnold Clark and book an appointment to show the fault. They fixed temporarily and gave it back. Again it came and almost 4 times I been to Arnold clark to fix this. But they did not get it fixed and because of lockdown I did not been there. After couple of months my MOT due came and went to Arnold Clark to get full service and MOT.They said this light need to get fixed otherwise they cant pass MOT. But they don't have system to check Audi car. I went to other garage to fix this. After diagnosis they said they need to change entire electric unit in the car which costs around 750£, which is a lot to me with out my fault. Bottom line is Arnold clark sold fault car to customer and lost all the trust. How Arnold clark do this to customer>>>I thought it is a big reputed company. Blindly I went there and spent 15K. I never ever recommend Arnold clark to anyone. Big cheated company.”
“Booked car in for its service plan 6 weeks ago - told the day before they can’t service the car but could prep and put through MOT - funny how it’s the part they can make money off of that can be done and not the service”
“I took my vehicle for a service and MOT at the Arnold clark Armadale branch.
I was told the vehicle failed it’s MOT due to needing new brake callipers, brake pads and a CV boot clip, all of which I have an email confirming.
Including the service, MOT and the work needed to pass the MOT I was looking at a £602 bill. I took the vehicle to a different garage for a second opinion as I questioned the need to replace the brakes components.
When the garage checked why, the Arnold clark Armadale branch, had failed the cars MOT they could only see reference to the CV boot clip. Not even an advisory on the condition of the brake pads or callipers. On inspection of the brake pads and callipers there was no reason to replace them whatsoever.
Arnold clark Armadale have directly made fraudulent claims regarding my vehicle in order to make financial gain from me.
I will never use Arnold clark again and will advise others to avoid them”

“Put car into garage as power steering wheel warning light came on and the engine wouldn't start. 2 weeks later got a call to pick it up and said it was the fuel pump. And it was all fixed as they took it out on the road and it was all good. They drove it into the courtyard and said to them fuel was all over the courtyard and they said it was just extra fuel and nothing to worry about. So drove home and fuel was all over the street got it back to the garage to be told sorry it's got a split fuel pipe. They're was definitely nothing wrong with the fuel when in went into the garage..so what happened to my car Arnold clark”
“Very disappointed. Booked for annual service and was called late afternoon to tell me the oil filter that was only ordered the same morning had not arrived!!! Had to rebook and wait as while was carried out. I wish I hadn't paid for the service plan, my usual car mechanic would NOT have been so remiss and much more trustworthy! Never again 🤯🤯”
“I bought my first car from Arnold Clark London road Glasgow. Kevin was very helpful and patient. All staff couldn't be more helpful and made me feel confident in my choice of car. Would highly recommend this branch again”
“I have bought every car I’ve ever owned from Arnold Clark despite several problems. Recently I was on the hunt for a Nissan Juke for my mum urgently. I reserved a juke in the Livingston branch after explaining to him the situation I was in and how urgent it was he told me it would be ready to pick up on the Saturday. On the Saturday morning before I was leaving to pick up my new car the guy phoned me to tell me he couldn’t sell me it as it needed too much work needing done. Fair enough not his fault. The only thing he could offer me was to look at another branch. Which I done all the leg work myself. Reserved another car after being disappointed. It was overpriced and had more miles on the clock than the last Juke i reserved but I was desperate. It was due to be picked up on the Wednesday. I heard nothing and on the Wednesday an hour before I was due to leave to pick it up...shock the same thing happened. Needed too much work and was going to trade. The sales man literally left me a voicemail saying those words. No offer of a solution no apologies nothing. The most horrendous experience at Arnold Clark I’ve ever had. Such poor customer service to the point the service plan I have with them I won’t even use now. AVOID”
“Toyota Bishopbriggs branch, amazing person and helps you out and puts 100% effort into getting you the car you want, friendly, honest and so helpful.
Jordan was the young mans name spot on”
“Total runaround to get a car fixed 2 months down the line went to another garage I wouldnt put a budgie in there and certainly wont buy arnold Clark again”
“Arnold Clark carried out a major service on my vehicle in November 2019. In less than 1 year the oil filter was rusty andouille started to leak from it. Arnold Clark’s explanation? It has gone rusty because I like beside the sea. Had the filter looked at by 2 independent garages and their opinion is that the filter looks as though it was not changed last year. Absolutely no attempt made by Arnold Clark to rectify the issue, other than poor excuses.”
“Booked service Mot and repair was told at service desk that the repair could not be done as too busy.Without the repair my vehicle would fail the Mot and as a result I would have to arrange recovery.I have now had to booked in with a local garage .What a shocking way to treat a loyal customer.
Very disappointed ex customer.”
