Wife went in for a four wheel drive , automatic car , pushed into purchasing a front wheel drive manual .. Now paying as much for a previous new "grande marque" car as we are now for a 4 year old car . Dont listen , staff only there for a sale

11 days after logging my complaint and still no reply or answers. Worse car buying experience I’ve ever had, very stressful and uncaring company, I bought a car which has now had 4 repairs, they have had my car for 45 days in total, I was offer a courtesy car for one day, very poor communication, I rang 9 times in one day and left 9 messages, only to speak to the manger who I was trying to contact confirm no messages were passed on, logged an official complaint 9 days ago and have been told twice that I would be called back, which hasn’t happened. Arnold Clark now say there is no fault with the car but refuse to buy the car back off me, they have blamed suspension noises as poor build quality on the low mileage VW Golf. Arnold Clark show very little concern to how not having a my car for 45 days effects my life, work and mental state due to the stressful and financial situation I am currently in. They advertise complaints are responded to with 3 days but tell me that because mine is a technical issues they can’t give me a time frame - what other car related complaints can there be. Awful company and clearly only concerned with sales figures as boasted to me by their Sales person, who showed me their “Football” style sales leader board, after care is none existent, I feel undervalued and deeply regret choosing Arnold Clark to buy my car from. Early on this complaint I took my Mum to buy a car from Arnold Clark (Ford Cmax) I am now so glad she decided to wait until my car was fixed before committing, she is now as horrified as me with the whole situation. I am now potentially stuck with a £20k car that one VW garage will not buy off me, another have offered me a very low price due to the issues.

terrible after sales service, car had fault from day 1, they couldn't fit it after 7 attempts then hit me with a usage charge of 932 as i had the car for 6 months. total disgrace and would advise anyone against buying from them, just want your money!!! car now back for sale so some one else will be landed with the on going issues with it

Arnold Clark are competive when it comes to buying a car but once you have done that if anything goes wrong with it, you're up sh#t creek. Their customer service is absolutely terrible & once they have your money they don't want to know.

Such a bad company , got a offer for my vehicle , travelled 20 miles to them , they inspected took £80 off for a alloy that had a mark , fair enough , gave me a price,I rang my partner to come and collect me , in the mean time they did a check around the vehicle again , and managed to find 3 marks on a 5 year old car that they had just checked , and offered an amount , they price dropped by £500 that was offered, and my partner was now on his way to pick me up , absolutely shocking . I would not recommend anyone use such a shocking service

Shocking service /sold a service plan £439 for bmw car but not told they cannot update bmw onboard computer to say service has been done -complained as would not have bought plan if had known this-customer service appalling and no help they certainly do not live by their so called company values !

started ok then !!! probably the worst dealership i’ve ever experienced, put a deposit on a car on the 3 june on a high end car we’ve been chasing them up ever since for a delivery date f###ing clueless just found out our salesman just walked out speaks volumes and the car needs a new turbo. please please don’t touch them absolute blaggers seems rotten from the top down

Complained twice in 10 days without a response also emailed the CEO you guessed it no response purchased 3 cars on the last 12 months will never buy from them again

Bought a car which after a while started to hear a knock from front end. Took it to a local garage to check only to be told that the car was unsafe to drive. Part of the front end was held together with cable ties which were obvious as soon as the car was up on the ramps. This car was supposedly MOT’d by Arnold Clark and pre-sale checks done but the car was sold as a risk to life. Avoid at all costs or get an independent garage to check over the car as soon as you buy it.

Had auto care they failed to diagnose the issue within the auto care policy time and delayed the diagnosis till it ran out then made me pay for the repairs and gave me my car back with a flat tyre with a screw in it

The worst experience I have ever had buying a car. I bought a car from Arnold Clark Vauxhall Dundee last year Aug 2021. Its is now Jul 2022 and I have still not received the V5 log book!! I have been chasing these guys for a while now and getting nowhere. The branch manager nick is absolutely useless, and likes to blame his staff for not passing on the messages I have been giving. The last time I have heard from nick was a month ago nothing since. The worst part about this was the fact me and my pregnant wife was driving this car without road tax because we never received a reminder also we couldn't renew it without the v5. Worst company to buy a car from. STAY AWAY!!!

Staff take safety over the top. You get treated like a toddler when on board they're taxis/buses. For example, you can't take off your seatbelt until the handbrake is pulled (i take it off before the handbrake is pulled anyway), that is ridiculous. From ridiculous rules to being accused of breaking them when you didn't. The staff also talk to you like a toddler, it's disgusting. Please get better.

Anniesland, Glasgow branch charge £120 per hour for work . I have just discovered ...too late unfortunately .... a highly regarded , long established local garage who charge £60 plus vat per hour ...so only approach A.Clark if you have very deep pockets ( and at the outset make clear you do not want a "safety check" which should more accurately be a called a "Touting For Business Check". The receptionist explained that they "don't want you driving away with an undiagnosed fault" .....absolutely not their responsibility if you put the car in for a specific repair.

Bought a 2015 Clio in finance, with full service and autocare plan, had the car sent up from another branch, 4 days later engine management light came up, needing a replacement part, which i had to fight for, fast forward to my first service tried to charge me £21 for a window wiper paid as I didn't have time to do it myself, 3 months later my exhaust pipe falls of on my way to work, costing me a days wages, a recovery call out and a prices repair from a local garage, fast forward to my first MOT.....haven't even had the car a full year most of my front suspension needs replaced apparently, although the service didn't pick up any issues trying to charge me over £600 to do repairs for components that don't even total £50, i was not happy and told the service guys that i believed the problems would have been noticed during my service, and that i was annoyed that as i hadn't even had the car a year i was extremely disappointed that i had an autocare plan if my price was still over £600. he was shocked they didn't know I had the mechanical warranty, I'm currently still waiting on autocare replying to my claim for parts, my MOT has not expired waiting for notification and i can legally drive a car I'm still paying for!!

Had My Car In Getting Serviced ! They Said When I Picked It Up Rear Brakes In The Very Near Future Required ? A Bout 1 Hour To Fit Them ? How Much Do You Charge An Hour I Asked. Replied £120.00 Pounds An Hour ! Sounds To Me That Arnold Clark Have The Best Deal Guaranteed For Them ……….

What has happened to Arnold Clark??? Went to a branch for a look around and to get some prices only to be told I should’ve just did that online!! Cars seemed overpriced and sales staff just hanging around in groups. When I asked for some help the advisor just got his phone out in the lot and started Googling figures. Strange. I left and used an online service - much better deal.

Paid a deposit for new Kia Sportage in November 2021. Arnold Clark totally messed up the order and actually did nothing for three months. Eventually found out in May 2022 when I was told the car had not even been placed for manufacture and would one another four months at least. Well done Arnold Clark on customer that will never return. Dreadful uncaring and unprofessional. Oh and the Branch Manager refused to return my calls, he delegated it to a person who knew very little.
