Good leather and craftsmanship . Disappointed that the clip has loosened and now it pretty much useless . Unless they resolve the issue I wouldn’t recommend

The leather is nice and well burnished, but the stitching was disappointing as the thread seems to be falling apart when I received them. Not sure if this is due to the poor quality of the thread or the machine stitching. Would prefer a wallet that is saddle stitched at this price point.

The leather is great but the functionality of the wallets is lacking. I purchased the black shell cordovan Capone and black shell cordovan Tony the Ant and had them engraved. The Capone money clip is defective. It causes the money to lean sideways and sticks out of the wallet. This makes the wallet appear sloppy. I no longer use it. The Tony the Ant wallet has a very limited bill capacity. The wallet becomes extremely distorted when you put 25 or more bills in it. The location of the money insert is also problematic. The money is not sufficiently concealed (U.S. Dollars) when you open the wallet to get the cards. The interplay between the card slot and the money insert does not go well together. The money insert feels flippsy and it is just awkward. Additionally, the money slot is very rigid making it a pain to put bills into the wallet. In all, I spent a little over $500.00 for the wallets between engravings and faster shipping. They were both huge disappointments. The leather is great but the wallets are very poorly designed. I no longer use either of the wallets.

It was not a great experience. I put a $399 wallet, and a Baseball in my cart, went to pay for it, and the baseball was gone. This was within a minute. I hate racing pay, and most high end product sites protect your cart for at least a couple minutes. I was then told I could pick a ball from a different batch, and so I did. Then I was told that ball was sold already ad well. I have purchased 6 wallets from you guys, but I won't be back. Thanks Rod

The money clip pulls the bills outside of the wallet. No rfid. For 200 dollars I expected more. The cordovan is buetaful.

This is my second Capone money clip. As usual the materials and workmanship were top notch. Unfortunately, this money clip is so thick that it's uncomfortable to carry. My first Capone measures .342 inch thick empty. This one measures .452 empty and carrying it is like carrying a brick.

A true mark of a company's ethos is in the post-sale customer service experience. Ashland leather = bad post-sale customer service. For a premium product, one is to expect premium standards, attention to detail and excellent service. The wallet arrived with a permanent deep semi-circular mark on the leather and I had notified Ashland on the day of arrival. They suggested it was only a light finger scratch. This was not the case as the mark feels like it had been caused by a heavy item which had imprinted itself onto the leather and I made them aware of this fact (for some unknown reason I am unable to attach a photograph on this website). Considering that I am an overseas customer, the mark did not warrant a return or a request for a new wallet to be sent out; so I had suggested a partial refund as being a possible fair solution. The amount was left to their discretion. My suggestion was ignored and all communication ceased to which I am very surprised and disappointed with. I deem it to be unprofessional of them not to have dealt with my compliant where we could have reached an amicable solution for both parties. It appears Ashland leather are quick to have your money and equally as quick to ignore customer when they complain about a defective product. I am left to feel that I am expected to settle with their sub-par product. I am a believer in giving a company a chance to resolve the issue before leaving a negative feedback. My experience has now left with a negative connotation associated with my Ashland leather products. What a shame. A one star would have been left had it not been for the pleasant pre-sale customer service, fast delivery and the overall product quality of the two items I had purchased. Unfortunately, this will be my first and last purchase from Ashland leather. Finally, I would like to think I have left a fair and honest review.

I love small leather makers and there's nothing like horween shell cordovan. Having said that, the stitching on my wallet was not the best as several of the threads were sticking out, so I had to fix with a hot needle. Wish more attention was paid to quality with a +$250 wallet, but the leather was great.

This is my fourth wallet from Ashland Leather and while the quality and craftsmanship is top notch, design doesn’t match. The money clip portion is simply unusable for anything more than one or two bills as it impinges one side, doesn’t “lock” in place and interior pockets sit at a height whereas the interior cards rub on the clip.

Ordered a marbled black watch band. I received a green watch band. I contacted Ashland and was told that Horween uses a green/black die so black marbled shell is often green or other colors. I responded that regardless of the intended color, I ordered a marbled black and received green, including green stitching. They back of the watch band is solid green. This seems a silly discussion to have but after going back and forth much too long Ashland said they would exchange - but I haven't heard back about the exchange yet.

Hi, Mike! We are sending you a replacement strap in another color. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! The marbled black shell can be a little confusing. Horween leather tannery creates this color by starting with multiple layers of black stain, then slowly scraping the layers of finish away. The result is a random and unique color range that will range from black, orange, and green.
Poor quality control. Wallet arrived with untrimmed thread and mismatched leather color. Replacement wallet took a week to arrive and had damaged leather. Disappointed. Returning everything for a refund.

Unfortunately the item did not arrive, but this was expected using UPS. Tracking originally showed a delivery date of Jan 18, but for the last four days “in transit” in a location one hour away. While not a direct review of Ashland, it is part of the experience. For 40.00 shipping, DHL could have it delivered in two day’s whether it is NY or Hong Kong.

The edges of the wallet are different sizes to a degree I consider significant. Outside of wallet has several indentations from machine stitching. Would not recommend.
