we purchased some garden post lights from B&Q and the base that holds to the lights post to the decking or flags etc is very thin which allows the post of the light to move back and forth in a very light breeze, or you can make it move your self once fixed by holding the post and moving it from side to side, so over time we can see the post will break away from the base fitting, the base fitting needs to be thicker steel to stop the post from moving, these post lights are not the most expensive at around £45 each but the base quality is poor, has anybody else found this issue.

I would like to submit feedback to B&q and McAllister regarding a product which I feel is not fit for purpose. I have completed a review of the item but I am not convinced that this will be picked up and acted upon. I concerns the 22" ( also available in 26") Macallister toolbox. Although the general design in terms of storage is good there is what I would describe as a design fault in the clasps. I purchased two of these toolbox's for general domestic use and after a short time the clasp broke. Upon closer examination I saw that clasp was pivoted on a piece of plastic not much bigger than a lego brick. I returned it to B&Q and was given a full refund. The same fault has now arisen on the second box. While visiting my local store I saw that they were still being offered for sale. One in particular had been reduced in price, Why ? because it had a broken clasp. Exactly the same fault which had occurred on the two I had bought. This item clearly has a design fault and is not fit for purpose. Please can this issue be addressed.

Asked by Natasha (4 years ago)
after spending £56.07 in store today, I was given a discount on my B&Q over 60 card of £0.63 stating 10%, how can this be correct
Asked by meyer (5 years ago)
The 10% Diamond Card discount applies to seasonal products (Plants/garden-ware) only. The 10% would have been taken off any garden items in your purchase.

Why do you promote the selling of foreign made products at B&Q, which in general are of poor quality. At one time if an item was British Built, it meant you were buying a superior item that would last, or is that something you dont want to promote at B&Q, as you would prefer the customer to come back time and time again to buy the same substandard product. I believe you are a British Company, if so, support the British People & their Industries.
Asked by Peter Griffiths (5 years ago)
Foreign made products are cheaper, and it shows. If you need to return things after the 45 day policy, contacting a foreign Manufacturer is impossible. Peoples contract is with the Store, they must deal with it, no one should be fobbed off. Products must be fit for purpose. British Products are better, but mostly more expensive and in the main, stores won't buy them, but they do Dulux, and Leyland paint & Harris Brushes, which are British and are superior items. I worked at B&Q for a few years, I agree with what you have said.
Answered by Gaynor (5 years ago)
B&Q made a mistake on my work tops, 2 work tops came with edging one didn't. Bearing mind its their mistake had to wait until next Tuesday before the workmen can finished. Wont be using that store again.

i have the grey gloss kitchen (santini) fitted 2 months ago and 2 of the doors are faulty the gloss has gone like a splatter pattern but have only ever cleaned with soap and water then buffed up with a dry cloth b&q say something has been spilt on them and not wiped off which is not the case at all
Answered by m logan (5 years ago)
Hi we have got the Santini doors too, so far since having the kitchen installed feb 2018 we have since April last year exchanged 19 out of 21 doors the bubbling at the bottom is the fault b and q have exchanged them but we are now getting fed up they have also exchanged some carcasses/ plinth and fan but our biggest worry is the doors. We took the finance out with them and they haven’t been much help we are taking it further now

Asked by polly (6 years ago)
I am getting a kitchen fitted and on the bill it has large lump sums for tiling and plasterboard work, how do I know what I am paying for, also they are charging for 3 switches at £276 which are already there and its taking 16 weeks rather than the 8 weeks I was quoted and the last thing was they tried to charge me £92 for plugging in a fridge and tumble dryier and I had to change the kitchen as walnut is discontinued and you are still selling it online the other thing one person told me I would get a free hob, oven and hood and then I was told it was just an oven, when I asked about the lumpsums they said you would get a refund if they didn't use it all, but I don't even know what I have paid for in the first place, but working with the council I will be checking everything as I know kitchens inside out, its like one big rip-off.

Has any had a problem with a Aura black worktop supplied by B&Q Or any other worktop
Asked by Angela hodges (6 years ago)
YES!!! Been waiting over 6 months for the edging to be finished!! I have asked B&Q to rip it out and supply a different worktop, still waiting for them to get back to me. Never again! DO NOT USE B&Q HOMEFIT, USE HOWDENS for kitchens, much cheaper, better quality and will fit within the time frame and dates specified, if only i could turn back the clock! would of save about £2k and have no hassle!

Getting new bathroom, will your fitters skim my bathroom ceiling
Asked by Caroline docherty (6 years ago)
Why does the company take full amount for a walk in shower and installation and the fitter free in January, but b&q can't supply items , why do the then take your money and next tell you the job will be done in March or April disgusting now waiting money to be returned
Asked by Jenny bowles (6 years ago)
I would give no stars if possible. Placed an order for tiles two weeks ago and was suppose to arrive on the Friday and didn't arrive. The driver complained saying he cant do the delivery as people were beeping there horn at him, anyways they said they would re deliver on the following Tuesday and yet again I was lied to as I called numerous times and they responded with its on its way. I am yet to receive my deliveries and I had paid for and organised my work shift around to accommodate for this. i have lost out on the builder costs as well as taking my time off work.
