We have now used Bare on 3 occasions. My Mother and Father and my sister in law. On all three occasions, the collection and cremation of our family members went very smoothly and proffesionately. However in my father's case the after cremation service to our family has been discustingly poor. My fathers death certificate was incorrect and we accept this was due to the information provided to Bare. The issue was the form sent to use to complete online. The question around siblings was set too close to the previous question which was irrelevant in dad's case and so was skipped over. That said when my brother Gary and myself made contact with Bare to discuss haveing the death certificate corrected, our many calls to Bare were never returned as promissed. We were promised time and time again that they would return our calls which to this date (04/03/2024)still have not been returned. we were referred by Bare to other contacts within Bare where after some 2 minutes were told we had been on hold too long and to call back again. Message after message was left with no returning calls, promises after promis of someone returnig a call as soon as they were off the phone never eventuated. We became so frustrated and angry on this matter that we had to place this issue in the hands of our lawyer to chase up. This is not an experience we would expect of Bare and I could not refer anyone to Bare.

To be honest, I’m not sure what I think about BARE Cremations. I bought two prepaid cremations in 2020, one for mum and one for myself. We live in Townsville. Mum passed away on the 19th June about 10.30pm. She was in a Nursing Home. I had given them all BAREs details. When the home rang BARE to report the death, they were told that BARE didn’t service Townsville. Imagine my shock to be told that, just having lost my mum. Four frantic phone calls later, we managed to talk to a lovely lady at BARE who told us she would do what she could for us and would ring us back. About 15 minutes later she rang with the news that she had arranged for a Townsville company to pick mum up from the Nursing Home that night, then the next day BAREs people from Mackay would pick mum up and drive her down to the other side of Brisbane, where she would be cremated and then her ashes would be posted back to us, express post. Mum didn’t get to Brisbane until 23rd June. This is not what we were expecting. We thought she would be cremated in Townsville and her ashes brought to us, not sent through the post. If BARE do not service Townsville, why sell the prepaid cremations at all. If they used to but no longer do, why didn’t they inform everyone who has bought prepaid plans already that Townsville, in fact all of North Queensland are no longer serviced by BARE. Sofie the nice lady we spoke to who arranged things for us was great, very kind and sympathetic.

Spoke to a very helpful lady and I was told that everything would be taken care of. I was even advised not to prepay a service as it was $400 cheaper to just call it in on the day of death. OK, so I did. Then, to my horror and complete disbelief, I was told that BARE couldn't help me. For anyone contemplating this service, be absolutely and 100% certain that they can service your requirements in your area. To be booted on the morning my wife passed was incredible and I am now severely out of pocket. Thanks...NOT.

Happy with the plan just not happy it takes 3 months and my account still says canceled even when my money come out each fortnight. Even after numerous contact I keep getting tons there working on it. Come on how long does it really take the decent web developers to rectify a problem obviously they’re not.
