“Barking bags treat pouch.
I do not recommend this item for the following reasons:
The description for barkingdogs treatbag states it can be worn "three ways either cross-body with the shoulder strap, around your waist as a bumbag with the belt or clip it onto your waistband"
The waist belt cannot be removed due to the size of the buckles, therefore neither the shoulder strap or clip can be used without cutting the waist belt off, making them both obsolete.
Also, the magnetic closure would not stop any treats smaller than a golf ball falling out!
While the poo bag dispenser is useful there is nothing to prevent it filling with rain water, if you're caught in a down pour.
While Barking bags did offer me a refund they refused to return my postage and I had to return it to them at my own expense. Poor customer service.
From a professional dog handler.”
“Bought my wife the original bag in black, after using it 2 or 3 times, she noticed the draw strings have came away from the stitching & also the cross body strap doesn't stay adjusted, phoned & left a message but no one returned my call, used the return link on the website to let them know about the faulty bag, corneila got back to me asking to send pictures of the faults, sent pictures & asked for a refund as I'm not happy with the bag,now being told I can have a new bag but won't be getting a refund as I have used the bag, the bag cost £34.95 including postage
Absolutely ridiculous”
“I was inially very happy but on the 2nd day of using the bag one of the ties broke. I contact customer services who came straight back to me, I sent a photo and was informed someone would be in touch I Am Still Waiting... I have now sent said bag back at my own expence and await a refund, I would of liked a replacement but in inaction of the customer care team now means I would prefer a refund and will go elsewhere for a bag.”
“BUYER BEWARE. A Clip fell off my Bag - which was less than 6 months old - & on enquiring as to how to fix the issue, I was informed that as it was a few months old, this was acceptable wear & tear! The clip was carrying a 23g poo bag retainer! So - from the Company themselves - these are not intended to last more than a few months. It is NOT fit for purpose. Fed up that I spent the extra pennies on what I thought was a quality product.”
“I bought a treat bag recently. Its not fit for purpose for the following reasons:
The magnet is too weak to keep the bag closed at all times
The opening can't be closed fully means it mad to be kept upright to stop treats spilling out.
The clips and fastenings on the strap are too big too be fed through the loops. The strap has to be cut if you want to remove it.
The clip is too low on the side, making the bag tip too much and treats spill out.
A complete waste of money for a very expensive product.
Having fed this back, BarkingBags took no notice of the feedback and no indication they would look at the design hence writing to Trustpilot as they offer.”
“I found the bag online and on Amazon. I chose to purchase from the company direct and when the bag arrived, realised it wasn’t suitable in size for my needs. There was no returns slip or postage label. So I emailed Barking Bags direct for instructions. I received a reply to say I would need to return it as new in original packaging (of course) and that I would need to pay for postage to return it and recommended signed for! Then if I wanted an exchange, pay for delivery of the replacement (irrelevant as I hadn’t mentioned exchange, only a return)
Had I bought this through Amazon, I could drop it up at the local Post office and have a refund in less than 24 hours! Support the retailer they say! Confused in Brighton 😵💫”
“I was alarmed when I purchased a bag when my card details appeared before I had input them. I have never heard of the shop.app you have to use to purchase. Their reviews are terrible. I emailed barking bags and never got a reply so that was another red flag. Then when the bag arrived I was shocked at the quality of the materials used. So cheap looking. It is nothing like the one I purchased 16 months ago. That one is fabulous and expensive looking. What has happened to make you use such cheap materials. The Carabinera were also cheaply made. Shocking and disappointing.”
“I placed a order then within minutes noticed it was wrong. I am dyslexic and thought £85 was £35 tried to cancel part of the order and there was no way I could do this.
One item was personalised and that's what I wanted but not the other stuff. Very disappointed”
“Make sure you buy the right product as to exchange you’ll have to pay postage to return & for tge new order. Even though you’ve already paid for the first product!”
“Ordered a bag, it was too small, I had to pay postage for delivery and postage for return and also pay again for postage if I wanted a replacement bag. For these reasons alone I wouldn’t buy from From this company again. Very disappointing in terms of potentially having to pay postage three times. Also their returns location is ten mins from where I live but I was still told to return via post. 😳”
“I have now ordered the treat BA and the slightly bigger bag. The cross body shoulder strap is too short on both so I have returned them.
It is strange as my previous one was great.
Maybe the manufacturer of design has changed anyway they are no longer suitable for me.”
“If you’re plus-sized and considering the Barking Bags treat pouch, save your money and your self-esteem.
I was initially thrilled about trying out Barking Bags after a fellow dog walker recommended them and after seeing their booth at Crufts. However, I was quickly disappointed.
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room – or rather, the lack of room. The pouch itself is fine quality, but the design is a slap in the face to anyone not fitting the ‘average’ size or flaunting themselves on TikTok. The belt couldn’t even come close to wrapping around where I wanted it. And guess what? You can’t adjust it. Their brilliant solution? Cut it. Because apparently, accommodating different body shapes is too much to ask.
And the customer service? It's a joke. No returns on unused bags? Come on. They’d rather make a plus-sized person feel like an inconvenience than bother repackaging something. Oh, but they generously offered a discount on my next purchase. As if I’d ever buy from a company that treats me like I’m too big for their products.
It’s a real shame. I had high hopes for this bag and was eager to recommend it to my fellow dog walkers and owners. Until Barking Bags addresses these issues and makes meaningful improvements to their products and policies, I won’t be purchasing from or recommending them again. So, congratulations, Barking Bags. You managed to make a plus-sized person feel even bigger.”
