“Bought a couple of the mixed ale boxes, one each for my father-in-law and my brother-i-l for Xmas. All good except a slight confusion over delivery. Both have arrived for Xmas but each came on separate days which was a bit of a pain for my f-i-l who had to stay in twice. I'm sure they'll love the beer though.”

“Some good choices here, perhaps a little heavy on Scottish breweries and I would have preferred each of the beers from a different producer. I could have bought one or two of them from local supermarket which was disappointing.”

“Generally I am really satisfied with the previous orders. However in the last selection box (of 12) which I have bought as a Christmas present, 4 contained a pumpkin flavour. So if the recipient doesnt like pumpkin then that is a third of the box wasted. Also there is general associations with pumpkin and halloween so wouldnt necessarily be appropriate for this time of year”

“The concept of the calendar is ace and the beers are great. The calendar arrived late (booked for 23rd and arrived on 2nd December which was a shame as it was an advent calendar!). I had to follow it up to find out where it was, would have been better to have email updates. The actual calendar can be quite difficult to get cans out of as they fall down when the ones below have been removed. It can also be quite tight to get bottles out of. Looks great though! The glass was also broken a bit on the base so we couldn't use. Wouldn't put me off ordering again next year though as think it's such a good idea”

“Although beer hawk is great for good quality beer & perfect draft kegs, it lets itself down when trying to get returns collected? I have contacted Beer Hawk several times by email and several times by telephone & every time I'm promised a collection for next day... But nothing happens? If this part of Beer Hawk was resolved then the score would have been Excellent?”

“The website was easy to use and the deals were very good. The main problem for me was the lack of communication with regards to the delivery. When I ordered it stated 3-5 working days, I had to take time off work to accept delivery as I ordered a larger case of beers. I called 3 days after my order to find out when it will be and was advised there was no update as they was busy with it being the Xmas period and to call back 2 days later. I ended up emailing 2 days later for an update and was told again that there is a delay due to it being the Xmas period. I replied to advise I needed to know in advance when it would be as I would need to take time off work and was given the same response as my original email. I understand that it being nearly Xmas it would have taken longer than normal and I was fine with that however I was only told the night before it was being delivered that it had despatched for next day delivery. If it wasn't for me chasing I would have received no update on my order. This is the main reason for my low score.”

“Excellent concept with good beer selection except the design of the box was pretty poor. The tasting glass was broken on arrival (although quickly replaced free of charge) but the internal box structure holding the bottles had slightly collapsed meaning on some days you had to open the top of the box to get the beer out (and moving others in the process) rather than through the calendar door destroying the whole concept. Would buy again only only if structure was redesigned and made stronger to hold the weight of the bottles and cans. Also please look into stocking Harpoon IPA in the calendar. Found it in Boston, USA, and they are delicious. Award winning too.”

“Great service! However, quite disappointed with the LACK of beer variety available of the PerfectDraft beer barrels. There are over 30+ PerfectDraft beer varieties available in Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands etc..... Please stock more varieties! Thanks”

“First delivery with draft machine was really fast, beer 'on tap' is amazing, just waiting the 9hrs for the first keg to cool was hell! Second delivery quick too but third was over a week with no updates between. Did arrive ok in the end. Would definitely recommend both the company and the perfect draft machine. Would like to have more beer options on the kegs available.”

“I have been searching for some time to find a reliable source for Perfect Draft kegs - looks like I have found it. Reasonable prices, although the 'free postage on orders over £50' does not seem to extend to Northern Ireland which is a pity.”

“I placed an order and sat back and waited for over a week and still my order had not been delivered. I then called to be informed that there was a delay,no explanation of what this delay was. However after my call ,I received my order two days later. A minor complaint but a complaint nonetheless. However, the wait made me savour the beer even more.”

“BEEN A MEMBER FOR AROUND 2 YEARS, LIKE THE PRODUCT, WEBSITE, REWARDS (BEER TOKENS) AND THE CONCEPT.ALL IN ALL VERY HAPPY, ADVANCED MY KNOWLEDGE OF BEERS NO END. LAST 2 ORDERS HAVE BEEN SOMEWHAT PROBLEMATIC, SOLD OUT AND THEN DELAY WITH DELIVERY. NOT THE END OF THE WORLD, BUT HOPE THIS ISN'T A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME.”

“The advent calendar and the range of choices is amazing. My partner is fond of beer and has been thoroughly enjoyed drinking quality beers and ales all December. If you look at how much these imported beers are in shops, having the whole selection available at this price is a great deal! It arrived quickly and the box and beers were in good condition. The only bad part is that the drinking glass arrived broken. I contacted customer services to ask for another, they were very quick to apologise and tell me they would post me a new one. Sadly nothing happened after that and I am still waiting for my glass to arrive. It probably needs to be packaged better.”

“A good choice of brews. Though I visited the site with a specific brewery in mind, I topped up with other interesting items and will certainly be back to investigate further. There were some difficulties with the first delivery, but this was not the fault of Beer Hawk, who sorted things out swiftly and agreeably, After the initial problem all the beers arrived safely (the packaging is remarkably secure) and I'm now looking forward to trying some new beers, and a few "old friends", over the Christmas period.”

“There was a bit of an issue with delivery, but I’m fairly certain the fault lay with UK Mail who appear to be almost as bad as Yodel. Beer Hawk customer service was great though and sorted everything out straightaway. Do be aware that delivery can be a bit slow though so order in plenty of time.”
