The company Benson for beds are basically thieves… they charged me 700 pounds for a bed only to see for the bank holiday they have reduced it by 140 pounds, so I rang the shop in Tunbridge Wells and said I wanted a refund for the difference as I only bought it 6 days ago and they wont be delivering until the 17th April which is well over two weeks away, they said we cant help you, ring customer services. So after 25 minutes waiting to get through I re explained it all to this gentleman to be told this “ Did you buy online or in store? So I said in store, he said well in that case you cant have a partial refund as you can only do that if you bought online, but by buying in store you waive your rights to any price change refunds etc, so I said well in that case I will cancel the whole order, he then said that will cost you 20% restocking fee, which is also 140 quid, at this time I was spitting blood as I said but you have plenty in stock as the sales assistant checked and you are not actually delivering to me for another 18 days all you done is charged me 6 days ago and now you want to charge me another 140 quid to cancel my purchase… So basically they are fucking thieves who are dishonest they take your money then fuck ya your not having it back… Well Bensons fuck you arseholes as I am plastering this over facebook public posts and your feedback for other consumers to read, and just for good measure I am in the process of making a sign which will be very visible in the back of my car telling would be motorist behind me you are RIP OFF MERCHANTS WHO FUCK OVER THEIR CUSTOMERS well you can screw any loyalty from me as I am going to park my car outside your Tunbridge wells car park so people can read you are THIEVING WANKERS, I will get my satisfaction over discrediting your company, so if I manage to put off just a few people from buying off you over this coming weeks then it is no less than your company deserves. FACEBOOK AND TWITTER will be plagued for the next few days from me and all for what 140 quid that you ripped off from me which I didn’t deserve. BENSONS FOR BEDS ARE THIEVES……. Benson Beds Extremely professional with appropriate helpful advice when we visited the South Ruislip store. Not pushy salespeople at all. They left us to browse but stepped in when we needed help. Thank you. Excellent service.

They were very friendly on entering to shop. Advice was very good but not pushy. Because of these reasons we brought. We went to another shop to see if we could get a better offer but staff were very pushy, so went back to Bensons

this seems to be a very small number of reviews compared to trust pilot who have over 60,000 reviews. I am not saying that Bensons don't make mistakes as every large business makes mistakes. when I had an issue with them (damaged furniture) they took control and resolved it as quick as they could (in this case 4 weeks as from Germany) once everything had been sorted out the gave me some money back and some vouchers.

I am absolutely disgusted Bensons for Beds. They make a big thing about a 40 day MATTRESS exchange (I’m perfectly happy with the divan bed) but, because I accidentally put the headboard on the wrong end, they won’t exchange the mattress. Customer services are rude and unhelpful. They clearly don’t want me as a customer. I’ve ever offered to pay the 10%, the extra for a more comfortable mattress and for the damaged bed but the answer is a resounding no. Once the bed has been delivered, they couldn’t care less. I will never buy from here again and I strongly recommend that no one else buy from them either.

I currently have a dispute with Bensons Beds over a mattress that retailed for a cost £1279.99 with a 5 Year Guarantee and has had approximately 4 years use, Bensons sent a very biased FIRA technician out to prepare a report that states the bed has sunk on one side and can feel springs due to normal compression with usage and not being rotated (this is in fact untrue). The report also states the base frame slat gaps are 9.5cm which are out of Manufactures guidelines, (Benson's sold me the solid Oak bed frame that does not in fact meet "Manufacturers Guidelines" (wonder what Trading Standards make of that) I spoke to Carl Martin Senior complaints advisor at Bensons customer service (who seems to have a answer for everything) and he stated that i can only use either Home serve or Eco-master to obtain an independent report and that they will only accept a report from these company's if i am not happy, what he did not say is that i can in fact obtain a report from any Expert in this sector that provides reports acceptable to the Court. (i will be instructing my own Bed Expert to prepare a report should the matter proceed to Court) Carl then went on to state i had bought a show room model that only has "One Year Guarantee" and they sent the FIRA tech as a Good will gesture! Bensons have in fact fabricated a copy invoice to state (showroom model One Year Guarantee) despite the fact i have a copy of the original receipt to put before the Court together with evidence of the Five Year Guarantee documentation given at the time of purchase. What the so called FIRA technician did not realize is that the inspection was being recorded on video and that he fact stated totally different findings to what he wrote in the report, (Transcript will be provided for the Court) also Bensons have only sent me Two pages of the 19 page FIRA report. I will be putting all the evidence before the Ombudsman and the before the Court together with a claim for all costs if this matter is not resolved to my satisfaction as i have a very expensive bed that is under Guarantee and Not fit for purpose and i suffer from serious spinal back problems being exacerbated with the protruding springs. Bensons Beds are clearly a very dishonest company and i would advise that the reviews on this site are totally different to reviews.co.uk that clearly show one star ratings, i have put this review on here as Carl Martin referred me to this site to see these edited good reviews of the company. If you are buying a bed i would take these stated facts into consideration of the type of company you are dealing with and take note of other review web sites as i am clearly not the first to experience this type of Customer service. They damaged my property when delivering my bed back in January. Muddy footprints all over carpet and damage to paint work. The delivery drivers took photos (as did we) and told us to submit a claim to Bensons We did. 4 months on they are denying all liability and claiming we caused all the damage ourselves. Appalling customer service. Will never shop there again

I wouldn’t advise anyone toy shop with Bensons for beds. They have sold me a faulty product which I only received yesterday and they are not willing to exchange this item. Absolutely appalling service. #neveragain

Still waiting for a mattress that seems to have fallen in to a black hole. Appalling customer services. Agree with all of the negative reviews. Bought 5 beds from them over the last 2 years and apart from rude delivery men never had an issue but will never buy from them again and will encourage friends and family to do the same. The problem is I don't think they care really and probably find the negative reviews, if they even read them, amusing

I purchased some oak furniture Large crack in the wood The manager at the Altrincham store was a rude obnoxious individual . Saying "not my problem" . Raised a complaint at head Office Left me holding for 10 minutes. Then customer service took 30 minutes to take my complaint If it wasn't long enough I was informed that the area manager would deal with my complaint. 12/03/18 I'm still chasing that response. No response from the area manager or customer services...chased through emails. Still no response Called today . Catherine from customer services kept me on the line 33 mins to tell me no one could deal with it. They will chase and call me back tomorrow. They have been saying that for two weeks. Dispite 4 emails and numerous calls. I'm still waiting . It's now the 28/03/18. No response from this company. Disgracefull Consumer rights act 15. Within my rights Exchange or discount or refund . Non of which I have been offered I'm now going to go through the small claims court. What a complete joke of a company I will never purchase again from this company Reply quote B of Beds Reply from Bensons of beds am sorry for the delayed response and that you are not happy with the chest of drawers you purchased. I can see from the notes on your account that you collected the chest of drawers on 18/02/2018 and did not at that time discuss any damage to the furniture, you returned to store on 12/03/2018, 22 days later, to advise the chest of drawers was damaged. As you transported the chest of drawers any subsequent damage is your liability. I am really sorry you feel you need to escalate your case to a solicitor however I feel you may benefit from third party independent advise. I hope this clarifies our position. My experience of working in the retail sector . This has to be the worst complany I have ever dealt with.

At the point of ordering we were promised flexibility on delivery dates and told we could easily rearrange if not convenient, but foolishly agreed to a specific delivery date not knowing for sure we would be available to take delivery. The proposed delivery date wasn't convenient and when we tried to reschedule a few days before it was due to be delivered, we were offered a revised date over 3 weeks later or cancellation at an undisclosed additional cost. The store seemed incapable of co-ordinating anything with their warehouse, and Customer Services were no better. I would recommend you think very carefully about placing an order with Bensons unless you are happy to fit in around Bensons customer service style. In the end they agreed to do a weekend delivery for an additional charge, even though I had requested this twice previously and been told it was not possible. The goods arrived and were perfectly OK, but the process was not an enjoyable one.

Have made several complaints to Bensons about a mattress which has developed 2 body-shaped troughs, with large dips at hip position. The FIRA technician declared that, despite the fact that the mattress has been well maintained, there is a problem - just not a manufacturing fault. Naturally, Bensons deny that there is a problem and have even suggested that we should stop using it to make it last longer! They have said that we can get second opinion, but they have to pre-approve them and won't accept a report from a competitor. We were encouraged to upgrade to a more expensive mattress by the sale advisor - it has turned out to be made of cheap materials (low-grade memory foam) and certainly wasn't made to last 7 years! Would never deal with Bensons again. Can't understand how the reviews on "trustpilot" are so favourable.

Bought wardrobe with integral chest of drawers. The bifold wardrobe door does not open enough to be able to open drawers of the chest? We queried this before purchase and were assured a unit with a bias on one side would allow for this. After over 7 wks it arrived and and we assembled it and then found it was wrong and there isn't actually a 90cm set of drawers to fit at all. The salesman admitted his mistake and we asked to swap for 2 x 45cm drawer sets(1 in the bifold side & 1 in the single door side) as although far from perfect, would give us the drawer space needed and was the reason we chose that furniture. They said that's fine for an extra £129!!! We can't do any more you need to ring head office if you're not happy. Head office refused to solve it to our satisfaction even though it was their mistake and offered £50. We now have to wait another 7 wks to end up with half the drawer space promised in our original contract with them. The only good thing on all this is the delivery team who were first class. Four months in total of living in chaos. Thank you Bensons of Northampton
