Avoid Bensons memory mattresses. I bought a Bensons Easi-pocket memory mattress 1050 in 2017. We live overseas at least half of the year so it had no more than 3.5 years actual usage. It was comfortable whilst it lasted but it has now literally disintegrated. Whilst mattresses obviously do not last forever, this amount of usage is not exactly impressive - clearly the manufacturing quality is poor. A letter of complaint to Bensons went nowhere, with them pointing out they only guarantee for one year. On this basis, our next mattress will be purchased elsewhere.

I must say that spending nearly £3,000 for a bed and mattress, i had great expectations however from day one i was disappointed. Even though the product was well packed, the mattress arrived with a blackline of dirt right across the middle of it because the plastic protection had obviously been dragged along the floor and torn. I can report however, that the mattress wasn't damaged just dirty. I now find that the bed itself which is an Ottoman TV Sleigh bed, is no longer usable without causing injury due to the failure of the support pistons and yes i can accept products do fail from time to time but customer services have been no help at all, referring my case to the manufacturer who has not been in touch at all to remedy the problem. Whether its a manufacturing fault or not Bensons for Beds sold the product so they have a legal contract with me and should be dealing with this on my behalf and not leaving me to chase manufacturers. Due to the time that has elapsed and the lack of movement, it has left me no option than to contact Trading Standards because the product is not fit for purpose and no one is taking the dangerous risk seriously. i can't use without having other people present to hold the storage base up so i can use the bed for what i purchased it for, access to a large storage area due to lack of space in my property.

A few years ago my son bought a new bed, with the money he got for Christmas, and the mattress has got some major issues, and I sent Benson for beds some pictures, and they came back to me and said that his mattress has a fault and because it is under warranty still we could have a replacement but the original bed my son bought has been discontinued, and the Benson for beds store near me has closed down and the other stores that is supposed to be near me but they are miles away from us and no one can drive in our house for medical reasons, and they have suggested that we find one online but because of my son's disability he needs to try the beds before getting another one, and I have asked for a refund, but they are offering a voucher to buy a new bed from them

Waited 6 months for delivery of two chests of drawers. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the wait: Quality very poor for what we paid. Also found their communication was very poor and contacting then was a nightmare.

4 failed delivery attempts but go a refund from the store very easy, staff that work there very polite and friendly just a shame the business is experiencing big problems. Wouldn't be surprised with all refunds that are being paid out the Company goes bust.

If you buy a mattress from Bensons then decide to exchange it under the 40 day deal you have an appalling wait to get through to customer services.They need to give you a code which you then give to the store where you bought the mattress from just so you can order another one.Ive been cut off whilst queueing so had to redial & they don't reply to emails. Just avoid buying from this company.

(Sittingbourne branch) staff helpful but.. been waiting for our bed since 4th nov 2021. It’s now feb 2022, still waiting! been let down twice on delivery, if let down at end of month will have refund , def not ever using them again.

Just had a delivery from Bensons for Beds. It’s been the worst delivery my wife and I have ever experienced. We’re both pensioners and we’ve been forced to drag our old king size mattress downstairs and then carry our new one upstairs because the two DHL drivers refused to do so because we asked them to wear foot protectors. They didn’t have their own so we provided some for them and they still wouldn’t wear them. The elder of the two was aggressive, argumentative and confrontational. All in all the worst delivery ever - appalling.

Beware Bensons old bed collection arrangement....bought there because they arrange old bed removal...at a price.....delivery guys turn up and say can't take your divans because they have metal in them!!!so we were left with two old divans to sort out.....apparently this happens a lot...old beds with electrics etc....BEWARE THE SALES PEOPLE.....CHECK THEY CAN TAKE YOUR BEDS..

We bought a solid wood bed from them in 2018 and it was a good bed- until a part broke off over the weekend and I found the broken riddled in woodworm. We’d had the house treated several years before, so knew that it must’ve come in with the bed itself. I have of course contacted them and the response was “Unfortunately, we are unable to take the complaint regarding your bed frame forward as your guarantee against faulty workmanship or materials has expired” Woodworm damage would not be apparent within the 12 month guarantee period

Placed an order for a bed on 02 May and was given a delivery date of 02 June, on the 01 June I got a text to say that delivery date was given in error and my bed will be delivered mid July. So my adult daughter has a few more weeks of sleeping on the couch. Had they have been honest about delivery dates I would not have bought from them, I would have bought a bed from wayfair.

Bensons customer services and processes are atrocious! From what we’ve seen, a lot of their suppliers provide good quality furniture; however, when Bensons take over it all falls apart (literally). Our furniture had to be reordered three times, due to damage caused by Bensons when they took possession from their suppliers.. Took more than 10 months to complete our order! There are a lot of better companies out there to order from; avoid Bensons at all costs..

I bought two wardrobes a bed and bedside cabinets , waited for two weeks delivery , when they arrived both wardrobes and one bedside cabinet were damaged on calling the store and customer services agreed to take a replacement, two weeks later they arrived minus the bedside cabinet and I could not believe it two more damaged wardrobes am now waiting for a refund . The customer service is nonexistent so be warned

Purchased Sealy king size bed and mattress from birstall store in Leeds in January of this year . initially store staff and delivery me was exceptional. However, discovered one side of base damaged. Contacted customer services and this is where the problem started: overall after spending almost eight hours waiting for them to answer the phone ( from.january to August) and speaking to seven different people ( and request to speak to education's team being denied ) my issue was finally resolved ( this was also after the replacement agreed was not on the delivery van as arranged) . I requested that I wanted the bed returning and a full refund . Miraculously the bed was posted cked up within a week however, I had to wait for the money and was told that I would have to go back to the shop where I had originally purchased it from The staff weren't supposed that due to customer services the bed had been returned. I pointed out that I had the bed had been a cash purchase (almost £1800).which had come out of my account within hours yet it took all students two weeks after I had purchased it back on n January. I also pointed out that I had to contact them on a frequent basis and that had I purchased the bed on finance I would not have started paying for it till it was satisfactory. On a final.note with regard to mattress I suspect that the ones that are returned are then sent out again after being used despite people paying full price ??? Despite negative reviews Benson's still need to sort out their customer services and distribution services. I also need to say that I received a text from them a couple of weeks ago saying that they had ordered my replacement base and they would then contact me with a delivery date !!!!!! So much for data protection. Think very very carefully before making a purchase from Benson's !!!

First of all I have to state for the record that the staff and service at the store in Oldham were excellent, in particular Aga. However, before we decided to purchase the bed from Bensons, we had read the reviews, and they were mostly poor with regards to the delivery and the after customer service side of the experience. However, we had decided on an Ottoman super king size bed with separate mattersses, which we found at Bensons for the right price. So, we decided to take a chance. We were re-decorating the whole bedroom, so the 4 weeks delivery time did not affect our decision. The bed was delivered on time and the delivery men installed it. The first thing that went wrong was that one of the divans did not have any castors or bed headboard fixings with it, so they could only install one side. I contacted customer services straight away, but it took a week to deliver the replacement castors. The package we received contained 12 castors, when we only required 4 and no extra headboard fixing screws. I had paid for the bed to be installed and bolted together, but I ended up doing the other half myself. To make matters worse, when we removed the corner edge protections from the mattresses, we discovered that they were different firmness ratings. I spoke to the store immediately, and they advised me to email customer services and send photos of the mattress labels, which I did. I followed that up with a phone call as well, only to be told that the replacement mattress would be 3 to 4 weeks delivery. My complaint is not with the store, the product or indeed customer service staff, all of which were contactable and did what they could, when they said they would. My complaint is with the quality control aspect of the whole system. If these beds are made to order, what idiot is not putting the bag of castors and fixings in each consignment, and what other incompetent is not checking each delivery against the order, either when it is dispatched from the manufacturers, or received at Bensons delivery depot, and before it is delivered to the customer? I run a successful business, and sevice is the key. It's not rocket science to get it right. It's attention to detail and employing inteligent people, with a brain. In conclusion, I will be seaking some form of compensation for the overall inconvenience.

Am sorry but am finding this very hard to understand We paid for the Legend Upholstered TV Media Bed Frame with 40" LED Smart TV Not even 2 weeks up and the surround sound has never worked and now the remote control stopped working Which means can't put tv up or down So with charger wire provided we plugged into the side charger ports to charge up which is stated to do in Manuel An now there not working We have spent all week leaving voice messages on customer service as no one will answer It took us to contact the store we bought it in to get in contact with manufacturers So they finally contracted us to tell us sounds like the remote was faulty which blue the bed mechanism We will send u out a new battery for remote control and sorry but will take a few weeks for replacement part to come in to fix the electric mechanism and we will get engineer to fit for you !!!!! Am sorry but save up for a bit of luxury for these faults to happen is not on I really am uncomfortable with this and don't know what to do next Any advice would be so greatful

Wish I had read these reviews before buying from Bensons. Bed good, but it is the after sales service that is appalling. Despite dozens of emails with no response, not able to speak to anyone over the telephone, and the local store doing nothing, looks as if we are stuck with a base that consists of two ‘left’ halves which do dot fit together.

I have nothing bad to say about the people who work in the shop, fantastic service. The delivery men were shocking, after waiting in 3 and half hours for them to turn up I had to go to work soon as I got to work I got a phone call off one of the delivery men. He said “I’m outside” I said “oh someone will be there in 5 minutes” he then said “arghh, only 5 minutes yeah” In a unpleasant toned voice. I then received a call from my partner to tell me that the men/man practically threw the mattress at him and left. I was told by the sales assistant in the shop that they would take it upstairs for me, which they/he did not. Having delivery men like that have put me off ordering from Bensons for beds again. Safe to say I will not be. Rude and arrogant

My mum bought a mattress from Benson Beds this past November (2018), after a month there was a dip forming. By January the dip was quite significant. I contacted their customer services and could not get through via phone so emailed, which they did not respond to. I then posted on their facebook page and eventually they messaged me back, I sent photos and they first stated a dip is a natural part of the mattress settling in! I said no, that is a sign of an old mattress, which offers no support for a fragile 81 year old! They referred it to FIRA is come and inspect the mattress, this was over a week ago, I rang today to chase it and they said Bensons did not give them the correct telephone number, but funnily enough they emailed straight after to confirm a date for 5th March, so they could of contacted me that way! It just feels like they are dragging their heels, this appointment is over two weeks away, then a further wait for a response and all I can say is they better replace the mattress otherwise I will be contacting Which. My mum has osteo arthritis and the mattress is making it more difficult as she is now having to sleep on the edge of the bed! Having to sleep on her side Is also effecting her breathing as she also has COPD. This is an absolute disgrace, not just in the qualityif the mattress but in how they are dealing with it.

our mattress was delivered to the wrong address and Bensons couldn't retrieve it! we had to wait nearly six weeks for an eventual replacement. during this time we visited the store several times and rang customer services at least four times (with a telephone wait of at least 20 mins on each occasion)but had no success. I sent a high level of complaint letter (advised by their own staff) but got no reply. we were loaned a mattress during this time, which we were thankful for. the staff were pleasant, but I find the whole company inefficient and lacking badly in management skills. needless to say we would never recommend Bensons.
