I purchased 2 Smartap shower systems 4 years ago with a 5 year warranty. Both showers do not now work and Smartap no longer exist. I the purchaser have a contract with the retailer (Better Bathrooms) who have asked for so much information including a damage report from my electrician which I have provided only for them to now say I need to take it up with the manufacturer which is one, incorrect and two they no longer exist. Most people bought their Smartap systems from Victoria Plumb who are a decent company and honouring their customer contracts. Better Bathrooms are a sham and are at this point refusing to refund even though I have provided all the they evidence asked for and the showers are clearly faulty and still under warranty!!!! I will update this review with more info as I get their responses. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, there are plenty of decent suppliers out there.”
“Bought mixer tap for downstairs wc which has pitted after less than a year. Initial emails were quick and responsive. Then told nothing they could do as it had been 12 months. Contacted customer service as it had been fitted less than a year (builders verified this), told it only has 6 month warranty- although email says 12 months?! Then told to ‘just buy another’ as it ‘was only £19’!! Not really the point is it?! Poor quality goods and even worse customer service. Would not recommend or use again.”

Bought matching taps, showers, wastes, etc. for my main bathroom only for them to end up scratching pretty much immediately. I contacted customer service and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Even when I asked could we talk more to manufacturing or management they were completely unhelpful.
Later on I did some research/asked a professional and found out this issue is to do with poor casting when making the item. And I didn’t even pick cheap stuff!
I now see there are lots of reviews saying about the damage to the taps but didn’t see them at the time of purchase.”
“Don't believe any delivery dates, you'll likely keep getting the date pushed further and further back as they obviously never had the stock in the first place. Has caused big issues with us as tiler booked in etc. Wouldn't recommend using them.”
“We had ordered for a vanity unit for over £500 and within a month of use the product has started to crack.
The company has wiped its hands off any responsibility that clearly indicates the inferior quality of products they sell. They say it was stored in a place with too much moisture!
Its a bathroom vanity, isnt it supposed to be withstand basic humidity in the bathroom?!!!
DONT BE FOOLED. Please DO NOT buy from them and make the same mistake. I understand if its an old property with higher moisture content, or old property. We had moved into a new place with new products and now have to deal with their broken wall unit and pay additional to get another one. SHAME ON YOU BETTER BATHROOMS!”
“This would be a zero-star review if this site allowed it.
Initial delivery cancelled without anyone actually telling me, took two months to finally receive all items.
Then, bathroom unit develop splits/cracks after less than a year. According to 'Customer Service' it's water ingress caused by me simply wiping the unit with a damp cloth, which the 'Moisture resistant wood combination' apparently cannot handle. Utterly ridiculous and obviously not fit for purpose.
Absolutely awful. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.”

Brass tap orderex has discoloured and is not brass anymore,
There excuse was due to water splashing on tap.
Wont refund or send new tap as it doesnt cover under warranty.
Shocking offered £5 refund.

“I purchased 3 bathroom suites in Boxing day sales. The deliveries didn't come until mid February. Before the deliveries came, I received a call from an advisor that they only had 2 in stock and they would offer a refund for the 3rd, which I would receive in 3-5 working days. I never received this refund in that time and once my final delivery came (because they couldn't send everything with one courier), I then contacted them about getting my refund for the missing suite but also returning and getting a refund for one of the damaged suites they sent me. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. 1 week on and I am still chasing my refund. They have partially refunded me but I am still waiting for nearly £400 and despite numerous times asking someone to call me to discuss this, they haven't. I am so close to going to my bank and raising a formal complaint with them. I will never use this company again!!!”

“shower tray £300 didnt turn up with the rest of order .phoned the company immediatly after 30 minutes they said it was coming the next day and pallatline would contact me with a time for delivery bearing in mind the delivery had already been put back a day at the start making a total wait of 9 days . well you guessed it nothing from palletline so called 9am next morning got a customer services lady whos obviously working from home very hard talking to someone with screaming baby and barking dog but after another 35 mins on phone told delivery was coming and a manager would phone me in the next 2 hours. nNO ONE called so waited until 2 oclock and called again another 30 mins on phone trying to find out where shower tray was and was told AGAIN THAT I WOULD BE CALLED BY A MANGER IN THE NEXT 2 HOURS at this point i politely told them to keep the shower tray and give me my money back something has gone badly wrong at this company a real disconnect between product and delivery wont be using them again”

“Bought my bathroom suite in Jan and expected first delivery date was April to be fitted beginning of June. I thought I best take this in case anything is wrong with it so they can sort and re order.
All delivered and all wrapped with no damage on the outside.
I went on holiday, my bathroom fitter came and took my bathroom out ready to fit the new one and as he open ended the bath which was all fine from the packaging, the bath was smashed on the L shape corner to the front. My fitter then contacted me on holiday to tell me saying “ what do you want me to do as you have no bathroom in”.
I rang better bathrooms from abroad to be told they would have to order this and I’d have to wait (despite I had no bathroom). I asked for a refunD and my plumber sourced one costing me a extra £300.
After this the drawer handles were not delivered, I rang better bathrooms yet again, they sent 1 handle instead of 2 and it was a short handle instead of a long one. I rang them again, this time they sent the correct handle but again only 1 not 2, I rang them again, they are now sending another in 4 days.
When asked to speak to the complaints dept I was told someone would ring me back in 2 hours from Friday lunch time….quests what, no one rang.
This firm is a sham, no one gets back to you and I must have made 8 phone calls to them at premium rate!
It’s says there’s a number on my invoice which isn’t premium, but I tried them all, they tell you they are all premium.
I will not use this firm again, nor will I recommend! Stressed to the max is not the word, was stressed on holiday and came back to stress with this firm!”
“It's a mixed review to be honest. Ordered several items from Camden range - vanity, sink, radiator, taps - all in stock. Arranged for me to collect from Castle Donnington on agreed date. No updates on order leading up so I rang customer services 3 times & was assured each time everything was in order & on track. On collection day I would receive a call & an email giving instructions. Rang day before because I noticed my order status had gone 'on hold' & was told not to worry, whole order had been despatched & to await the collection contact. Here's where it all went monumentally wrong. On collection day having still not received any updates, I rang & was told my order had been "cancelled 2 days ago", items were "out of stock - sorry" & "would I like to choose something else?" You can imagine my reaction. 'Anna' put me through to the sales team - Iqbal - who was brilliant. Re-ordered everything, upgraded an item & sent the whole lot via express pallet delivery at no cost. It arrived the next morning. I had updates from the pallet tracking all through the night. The items were absolutely beautiful, top quality & packaged really well. They came good in the end. Sadly, the customer service team leave a lot to be desired & I don't understand what went wrong. It wouldn't put me off using Better Bathrooms again but their customer service team does put me off rather. I recommend placing your order direct with a member of the sales team, not just via their website. It seems to be a slightly different process & much more comprehensive.
