Driver was good, punctual. Service charged an extra $20 cash to drop off even though addresses were quoted and I had already paid extra. Would have been cheaper to take a taxi.

Had no problems with Bookway. Please add more cities/towns to your roster! Thanks. Also, I’m not sure if you’re responsible for this but the bus played really loud movies nonstop at full volume throughout the 11 hour bus ride. It was relentless. I don’t understand why the bus didn’t have headphone jacks so that passengers who didn’t want to watch movies could ride in peace and quiet.

The site itself is easy to use and book with, but the driver from Marsol was questionable. While I understand cultural/business practices differ from country to country, I feel it’s unacceptable for a driver to take advantage of having a vehicle to drive to make several personal stops (to purchase food and drop off food for their family at their own residence.) It adds unnecessary time to the travel schedule, which many people cannot afford. While it took only about two hours to get from Barranquilla to Santa Marta, it took nearly FOUR hours on the return trip. I acknowledge the difference in traffic patterns as well, but the rerouting to make a personal delivery was definitely unprofessional. In addition, the driver was not alert/awake at all times during the drive, and it put passengers in danger. Again, this is not Bookaway’s issue - the problem is mainly with the transport company, Marsol.

There should be a synchronized system between Bookaway and Operators. Once the operator allowed the customer to make a booking, it means the seat still available. So, you do not suppose to pending confirmation. In this case, you have to make sure that the operator must update their system to avoid pending confirmation after the customer makes the payment.

We're aware that it must be frustrating to pay first and then wait for the operator to approve the booking, that's why we developed a new payment method, in which the money is held in the customer's account, but not charged unless the booking is confirmed, and that system is applied for most lines on our website. In your case specifically, our support team had to offer you an alternative option as your departure date falls on the Tet holiday in Vietnam, so once we booked the alternative for you, the amount was charged before approval due to a human error, and we're really sorry about that, however, don't worry, upon checking with the operator, your booking will be approved very soon :) Feel free to reach our support team via email or live chat if you need any assistance.

I have used Bookaway twice in Southeast Asia. First time, it worked fine. Booked a ticket online to Hanoi, and everything worked out fine. So decided to use them again. Second time, Bookaway did not confirm the booking for a ticket to Cambodia from Thailand within the stated time of 24 hrs. It took 2.5 days before they confirmed, which by that time, I had to make alternative plans not knowing when it would be confirmed. I think part of the problem is that their support people don't seem to be on local time here. So everything seems to get delayed. Second problem is that if it might take 2.5 days to confirm a booking, then DON'T say it will be confirmed within 24 hrs. Not doing a good job of managing customer expectations which can ruin the experience. So if everything goes ok with the booking, seems reasonable. But if there is any hiccup, than support is not very responsive. If you are time-insensitive, then this would not be a problem.

Just want to update my previous review. I received my bus ticket in time for my trip. But, no form of support contact available with either a phone number or a functional email address. Please review previous commentary.
