Poor communication and slow to respond. Belligerent at times when simply asking for an update. Not at all impressed and would not recommend to anyone that they use this firm to represent them.

Communication with BPL is on their terms only. a) They prefer to communicate via e-mail. But if you e-mail them, don’t hold your breath waiting for the reply. They will do so only when they are ready! b) You can telephone them but the Conveyancers rarely (if ever?) pick up the phone. It goes straight to their voicemail. c) If you leave a message for them to ring you back – don’t wait in for the call, if it comes at all, it will be in their own sweet time! They were so slow that the other side’s solicitor got very annoyed with them. My best advise would be to avoid them like the plague! They get 1 star because this site doesn't allow for zero stars!

There is nobody on the other end of the phone when you need it most. The only alternative is email and hope they're going to answer

Don’t use them if you want complete in any sort of reasonable timeframe. I had to wait 22 weeks from instruction to picking up the keys and this was by and far because of delays caused by BPL. I found it almost impossible to speak to my conveyance manager and when I was lucky enough to get a call back i was just flatly lied to about what was causing the delays.

Avoid at all costs!! They do not ever answer their phones, nor reply to emails! You have to keep pestering to do their job and chase up enquiries. It’s been two weeks and I have still not heard anything!

Ended up switching our solicitor halfway through as BPL were slowing down the whole process which was putting added pressure on the chain and we were afraid that it was going to collapse. Once we did this then we noticed a significant improvement. In other words BPL are not the best.

Shockingly slow, unnecessarily taking nearly 20 weeks, claim they’re done when there are still enquiries ongoing. Can never get hold of anyone. Never again.

Just don’t expect much from them with regards to client care, you get what you pay for I guess. As has been alluded to in some of the other reviews you are expected to do most of the work for them and to be constantly pushing them and all the other parties otherwise you just won't complete as they are too busy to care. You will likely receive a better standard of customer care at the counter of your local fast food restaurant. Also be sure to check all the correspondence and documentation as we found that there were a lot of errors that we had to point out to them.

Avoid BPL at all costs! We had a chain of 2 who were all ready to move and who's solicitors were fabulous, it took us 16 weeks to complete and we had 4 agreed exchanged dates that kept being pushed back, we eventually managed to escalate our case through complaining to another solicitor who manged to get what we needed to be done sorted in 3 days!! They lied to us about answering emails and replying to queries. They only get back to you if you chase and pester, this made moving house 10x move stressful than its even been before! We thought it was all sorted and then a week after moving they told us that them missed some payments off the bill and we owed a significant amount of money, They do not care at all about there customers!

Ok, i think i was patient enough, and i thought that best review will be to give them no review at all, but it is now two months since my completion and not only that my name is not in title register, but that change was actually never requested at all, as i am receiving H&M Land registry notifications. They are ignoring emails, answering only when you send them really angry email. My case took 9 weeks(first time buyer, mortgage agreed, empty house, no chain) and it would have been way longer if i haven't done their job and did not chase everyone else, including sorting out some documents. last three weeks of my buying process i made about 10 calls/day to make sure that i'll be able to move in. Conveyancing report was full of errors, like for example that my mortgage offer will expire in June(in fact it was October), they even missed that on mortgage paperwork was not their company details. I emailed them last week, asking what are they going to do with my name on title and no answer at all yet....

Staff are poorly trained and arrogant. Never answer the phone or respond to emails. They have A direct line but they don't give this out to clients, they just give you the generic number which takes you through to an answering machine, you'll never get a response. BPL have no business in acting as conveyancers as they are not fit to practice.

I can relate to some of the negative reviews on here as I have been waiting for what seems like an eternity to complete on my purchase. Recently received the conveyance report from the case handler which had clearly been rushed as it was sloppy and riddled with errors. This made me feel uneasy. You really are taking a chance with these guys when you consider that this will likely be one of the biggest purchases that you will ever make...

We chose BPL because they came in quite cheaply and had positive reviews... Once we instructed them however and paid the retainer, their client care went out of the window and we literally were left hanging in limbo and guessing at what progress was being made... My advice would be to find someone local or a referral from a friend of mortgage broker. If you use BPL just be prepared to wait 20+ weeks for the sale to go through and to be pulling your hair out constantly because you can never get through to them... they don't care!

Oh dear.... dont know where to start... Constant ignore... can not get through at all.. spoke with my case conveyancer only once in 2 months.. and she has been ignorant. Trying to get a completion date asap, and always lying that had not received this, had not received that... when i am 110 % sure that they have it... we have to push them every day to make things going forward! communication is via email only!!!no regular updates, we are just waiting and waiting and waiting... come on!!!!!!! Whatever takes one day to complete they take 2 weeks! If you have to much workload, please do not accept new clients as the service goes down and you have unhappy customers. If i would have known, i would AVOID this company. Never ever thought this will be such a nightmare.. i would rather choose small independant firm, not advertised as big company. VERY DISSAPOINTED.

The whole process to buy our house with BPL ended up taking nearly 6 months, Had it gone on much longer then our mortgage offer would have expired which could have caused some problems. We could never have imaged it taking this long and wouldn't have instructed BPL if we had been aware to this.

BPL have been a nightmare from start to finish. It has been like pulling teeth trying to get them to provide updates and to progress the sale on my property. Just Avoid. Can't wait for this to be over...

Do not use them. I will seek compensation for over £4,000 for a very bad service which has cost this money in the delay of 15 weeks in the sale of a property. They do not answer their phone it is always in ansaphone and they do not get back to you. I will take this up with the Legal Ombudsman and Solicitors' Regulation Authority tomorrow and the cost and stress of this is quite frankly non repayable. It is beyond absurd!!!
