I stay with British Gas, there's plenty of tariffs to suit any pocket, seems good to me and hassle free.

For a firm who appear to have global ambitions I think it had better sort out its complaints service and misdirection from it's staff. So you have a strange high bill after a meter change. You complain. You are told that it is British Gas policy to put a hold on the account by staff on the telephone .You get emails saying your account is in arrears, you call BG and are told to ignore them by staff on the telephone. Then six weeks into your complaint still unresolved with not much info on progress, you get an email threatening to turn the account over to a bailiff. You call BG. They tell you there is no hold on the account they do not know why. You pay. Now this is plain malice and misdirection. Make a complaint? Do not trust what staff tell you because by listening you risk a bad credit rating. Good luck if you ask for a SARS..how? Guess it's the good old snail mail. Now, in six weeks I have been to Inda, South Africa, somewhere in Scotland and somewhere in England without leaving my sofa. I have now explained to BG that our contract is broken by their deception and malice and that currently I am on a deemed contract. Can I get figures for gas and electricity per unit on a deemed contract...no...I think they are in breach of certain aspects of the law on the provision of goods and services thus far, as for the financial ombudsman I will put the case forward. So beware.

After my mum passed away and I was transferring the account in my name, British Gas made a massive error and after a few calls I eventually got through and spoke to a lovely lady called Tia. She was really friendly, polite and helpful. Tia was able to rectify the problem. Thank you so much Tia

Following on from a previous review I have came to the conclusion that monkeys at Edinburgh Zoo would perform better with general complaints than the personal they have working for BG 5 times I hs e informed they they have the wrong name and wrong account details yet still send out the automated response with s change of date. They do not read letters or bust ignore the basic facts.Bigger is not always better I would renationalise this company as the care very little of the customer. Apologies to the monkeys at Edinburgh Zoo for the remakes they are far more intelligent.

We had a leak inside our Boiler which was first noticed on a Sunday. It is very difficult to contact anyone on a Sunday unless it is a Gas Emergency. However, I did manage to book a Appointment using the Online Booking System for two and a half weeks later! The following Wednesday we noticed the leak was getting worse so I tried the 'Live chat' function and spoke with Prathamesh. He arranged for an Engineer to visit at 8pm that night, the relevant part was ordered and the Engineer came back at 10.30 the following morning and the leak was fixed. Think I was very lucky reading the reviews on here.

British gas ripped me off big style. I ended up paying for gas I hadn't used. They tried to make out I moved to my new property in August 2020. The tenancy began on 30th November 2020 and I moved in 7th December 2020. They are an absolute complete rip off. Not interested in the Customer. They are only interested in what they can get from ripping off their Customers. Terrible customer service experience.

You obviously couldn’t care less about your customer service. Do you even bother to read these reviews? If you end up going bust it will be your own fault - I just pity your employees who will pay the price. I need to make contact because of misinformation you hold about our homecare but it’s nigh on impossible - how could think elderly or people who aren’t computer savvy get on ?

My 97 year old mum noticed water on her bathroom floor. A neighbour identified source of leak but could only stem it. Mum had Homecare through BG and from time of call an engineer was there in less than two hours. Excellent service- well done BG

Don’t touch them with a barge pole TOTAL RIP OFF COMPANY customer service is a disgrace !!!!! If you are late with a payment there is no reminder and they charge you a £45 late payment fee STAY AWAY

Problem dealt with from initial call to engineer(KIERON)attending handled really well.Engineer KIERON polite,helpful and resolved the matter without issue,well done you lot!
